Magic Pie is better than Wonderwall. Yes. Any song that needs Tony Blair and his PR people as lyricists is disqualified from greatness

As appose to maybe baby you're gonna be the one that saves me from this boring diatribe of sappy lighter waving quasi-sentimental rubbish. Am I joking? 50/50... I said maybe...

Mainstream public made people think Wonderwall is a sappy, oversentimental song. I mean,c'mon, all these awful covers by boys bands, Ed fuckin' Sheeran, singing this song like it is a over-sentimental american teenage pop song, they clearly kill the soul of the song.
But you can't deny the studio version is utter brilliant. The acoustic first chords, Alan's drumming, one of Liam's finest delivery, the fake cello line and that great melody... A timeless pop song.

Those opening lines are the Blair cribbed ones! On a more serious note and tagging theyknowwhatimean this was the speech in full that unbelievable as it seems now heralded St Tony as the saviour of all he saw- Tony Blair Speech Blackpool 1996

Not much of a Blair fan as I expect most aren't, however I can understand why Noel got on the bandwagon since from looking into it history wise (I was a kid at this point) the build up from John Smiths death, 1994 to 1997 was pretty spectacular. In fact I once compared one of Blair's speeches with Browns 10 years apart (1997 to 2007) for English studies and the comparison was fairly staggering. Undoubtedly Cameron based himself on Blair, the rhetoric and hand gestures are very similar.

- I call Heathen Chemistry, 'Heaven Chemistry' because I'm an idiot. - 'Dad Rock'* is a label I associate with much of Be Here Now. *cough*Quoasis*cough* - The term 'Madferit' makes me cringe.
* That said 'Dad Rock' is a term I find pretty silly, rather arbitrary and altogether not all that bad.

But as long as yer madferit, the fuck do I care.

I really like The Nature Of Reality. It get way too much hate on here and I think that it fits perfectly in the DOYS spirit. I know it's sounds a lot different than the songs you expect to hear from Oasis but I think it is a (really) good song.
I also really like She Is Love.

Soldier On, Who Feels Love and Better Man are some of my favorite Oasis songs, even with as much hate as they get on this forum!

I've always liked Who Feels Love, album and live version.
I think Force Of Nature demo, higher key, is much better then the album version. More energy.

If Noel geta grief on the Hello thread for sampling part of a Gary Glitter song before the allegations and conviction then he certainly doesn't get away with doing it afterwards Talking of that sample legendary nutters Bill Drummond and Jimmy Cauty a.k.a. The KLF used it along with Sweet's 'Blockbuster' and Ibiza DJ Steve Walsh's 'Let's Get Together Tonite' (Walsh died that year) to create one of the finest pisstake singles ever to reach number one in the UK in May 1988

I rarely listen to Oasis albums anymore, but when I do, I roll the windows down and blast it on 11 so that the world can hear it! I live in what could be described as "Oasis purgatory".

^ That sample/drumming pattern been used to often in songs, whether sped up, slowed down or the same tempo.
Another example is Katy Perry's I Kissed A Girl, where it's sped up.
