I really don't like the USA mix of Blue. Bringing up the vocals and drums and reducing the guitars of a shoegaze track is an absolute crime in my book.

History is so fucking beautiful, those Verve bastards, I haven't cried this much even when listening to Coldplay's A Rush of Blood to the Head (the song) or Travis's Driftwood.

I've been there man. met a girl at a Travis gig in 2000.. was deeply in love with her.. we could have started something.. but we felt we were going to crash anyway.. hard to explain but well. and when Coldplay released that album, it meant something. weird they turned around..... History is up there. magic how songs can be.

One of my favourite albums of all time is by one of my most despised bands.

mystoryisgory, have you listened to the Voyager 1 EP? It's very rare so your best bet is a floating torrent download or just this youtube upload. It's safe to say that while Leckie's production on ASIH is remarkable, all the songs sound marginally better live. Voyager 1 and the Camden bootleg I posted the other day showcases this easily. McCabe's guitar sounds like an actual storm in heaven.

EDIT: Just finished listening to Slide Away, great version that sounds closer to the freeform jam style of their early songs like Gravity Grave! Looks like one thing Leckie did with The Verve was make their jams more succinct and punchy.

Does anyone have the capability to remaster 'A Storm In Heaven'? The remasters from 'This Is Music: Singles" made me realise that ASIH is actually quite bad in terms of clarity and could sound a lot better.

Well, I have the CD rip which is already very good with dynamic range. You mean louder with some more EQ balance?

If you're able to do anything with the album, it would be much appreciated I swear I saw a Japanese promo cd on Eil.com, around the time of the singles reissue, which was the whole of ASIH remastered. It was sold out so never got the chance to buy it.

Which band am I describing? -From Manchester -Recorded debut album at Sawmills Studios -Second album produced by Owen Morris -Biggest hit worldwide is unrepresentative of their signature style, which typically features heavier guitars -Though the guitarist and singer made the perfect partnership, tensions between the two led to the band's breakup -Everyone is clamoring for their reunion

For some reason this is my first time hearing this. Sounds like a early version of 'Let The Damage Begin'. Nick's fuzzy guitar section is incredible.

If I'm understanding this post correct, we could be getting to hear some unreleased Nick McCabe ambient works from the 90s!

Just released from one of the filmmakers - footage from the Verve's Nov. 1997 US tour. Some of this has been seen and heard in the The Video '96-98 documentary, but this also includes unheard and unseen performances of BSS, Lucky Man, This Is Music, Life's An Ocean, and The Drugs Don't Work. Transferred from the original film tapes to 720p.

Guess this Bittersweet Symphony version is quite well known here, but I just stumbled upon it and love it: Is there any file of this performance on VH2 floating around that has the full version without the interview? Or any The Verve fan knows a high quality bootleg where they performed this version? I appreciate any hint
