This is a strange place sometimes. And very funny. Does people think before talk? The fact of the matter is Noel is a lazy bastard. He doesn't do gigs for fun or for the passion but for the money. Yes, i am sure he needs a lot of money. Soon he will have to use charity, poor Noel. Do you really think Liam or Noel need to do something for money? Noel lazy? Only since 1994, what a novelty. Noel boring? Go and check that Bieber gay. Changes in the set list? Sure, he should have to play two or three different songs so people like you can be happy watching it on youtube, fuck the people with tickets who wants to listen the gig as it is. Like me tomorrow in Madrid for example. Comparing Noel with Pearl Jam. Yes, as if Pearl Jam were not an excepcion. I demand Noel changes his jackets and shirts, he is wearing always the same clothes. I want him to play with red leather trousers. And a wig. Boring bastard...

Eh. Not to blame it on laziness or anything, but I would love to see more variation; otherwise, I'm not interested after I've seen one gig. That one gig was a great show, though!

I still can't understand why he won't play stop the clocks? I know this sounds stupid but I don't want to hear anymore oasis songs they've split up don't forget I'd like to hear alone on the rope or a simple game of genius

I enjoyed the gigs I saw in toronto but it was so predictable. It was predictable for you and maybe 2% of the audience who searches forums and looks at set lists. If Noel wants to make people feel pressured to buy two shows so they can see different songs, that's his perogative. I'm perfectly happy that I got a great show and I know I didn't miss out on Waiting For the Rapture on the next day.

If your an artist and your playing two nights in a row in the same city shouldn't u change 1 or 2 things to make both experiences unique?. I'm not asking for the world folks. Just change one or two songs. What's the big deal in doing that?

Just change one or two songs. What's the big deal in doing that? he wants an equal gig for everyone. and just because in this forum are so many die hard fans who want some changes theres no need to do it. the setlist is great

He should alternate Supersonic with a similar version of Live Forever or Slide Away, Talk Tonight with The Masterplan etc. Maybe mess around with the order sometimes. It's so boring knowing which song's coming next all the time. He has too great a back catalogue to dig out the same songs and play them on an acoustic guitar every night.

He should go back in time, and while this is pretty impossible, I think this guy is over. This is not new, this is not a mistery for no one. Noel's album is good, that's all. He's doing the same shit live since 2006. Good for him.

To be fair, the Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds songs are pretty boring live in themselves. So it's just not about the set list per se, you degenerate.

Firstly: Would it add a certain element to swap a few songs in and out from gig to gig? Sure, it might. But the argument that it's "boring" for Noel and his band to play the same songs is a bad one from an artist's standpoint. Anyone who's ever played live music in front of a crowd knows that you could be playing a certain song for the 100th gig in a row, but if the people are loving it and eating it up every night, it sure as hell keeps you interested.
Secondly: The Internet and forums like these foster this culture of nitpicking and 24/7 immediacy (not only in this, but all of society). If you'll go back and look at The Beatles' setlists, for example, you'll see that they were often identical from gig to gig, with maybe one song swapped in and out for the odd show. Back in the 60s, the people going to the San Francisco show didn't know the band's setlist would be the same as from their gigs in Chicago or New York. They just took it for face value when they experienced it.
Just my thoughts, anyway..

I don't buy the "same show for everyone" thing. The paying gig attendee wants to see something unique and special, as if being there actually means something to the artist rather than just another nights work on a travelling show.
That doesn't mean you have to change the setlist every night though. Oasis rarely changed the setlist but were masters of the audience engagement, or at least up until the last tour anyway. In reality, Liam had the same fixed-glare stance every night for 15 years, but when you were there in person it actually felt as if they both wanted to be there and loved performing.
Anyway, for this tour at least, seeing Noel solo is still a novelty and there is no need to change at all if he doesn't want to. I don't really think anybody would be that arsed though if he was to change a song or two, especially when you consider the back catalogue he has to choose from.

In 2005, I saw Oasis 4 times. Between the first and the second show, they've add acquiesce in the selist. It was a little change but a very nice one. Changing one or two songs wouldn't hurt anybody. But he just started his tour, so let him time. I'm sure he'll add the masterplan or something for the 2012 tour.

I wouldn't at all call the setlist "stale" after he's only been touring for what, a month?
The only time I've ever felt the setlist go stale was during the DOYS tour, where they played the exact same thing, with machine-like precision, right up until the near the end of the tour when they did the summer gigs. Even then, would have been nice to have more than 4 new songs added (even if they were great additions)
We'll see how it goes. I do wish he'd try STC with just him and Mike Rowe. There's nothing those two can't do together.

If Noel wants to play the same setlist night after night he's well within his rights to do so. If it bores you, you don't have to keep watching the videos/checking the setlists/moaning about it on forums.
I do hope we get to hear live versions of Alone On The Rope, LTLSALOM, and A Simple Game Of Genius, however. The only variation I really want is to hear all the songs he's recorded played live. Beyond that, feel free to play the same setlist til the AA album drops, Noel!

Had the best time kicking back with a few drinks watching that BBC concert late one night - one of the most enjoyable gigs I've ever seen! To be honest though - given Noel's back catalogue - it would be nice to see him surprise his fans and audience every night with just a couple of different songs. I hardly expect his set list to be as eclectic or surprising as Dylan's but there's scope to throw in the odd mothballed gem or cherished cover song here and there.

One can only hope that the AA album will require a more exciting show (both musically and visually) from the Birds than is currently on offer.

I want it to be an antithesis of a Pink Floyd show, like, ya know, playing The Wizard of Oz in the background whilst we get the live offering of another version of "If I Had a Gun" and "AKA...What a Life!!" I know, it's beyond explanation on while it think it would rachet up the excitement quotient, but, fuck, Why do lonely housewives is drawn to Bella and the vampires and wolfboy triangle from Twilight?!? Riddle me that, dja know what I mean?
