Fun fact: HFB has now spent longer in the top 20 than any post-BHN Oasis album. Nearest contender is HC with 18 weeks in the top 20. Also. #14 in midweeks from Wednesday. Looks to be a 20th week in the top 20. And if he can hold on for 2 more weeks he'll have spent 5 months straight in the top 20. Also, nice to know that after this week Noel will officially be a multi-platinum artist again in the UK.

I really love it, but I didn't think that non-Noel/BDI/Oasis fans really would. I'd imagine that WAL has really made a massive difference on this album..if it wasn't on there I sincerely doubt that NGHFB would have hit home with as many people.

Boy am I glad I bought a ton of HFB shares back in July. As Noel gets richer, so do I!

Maybe I should have bought the shares instead of the CD, CD/DVD, Vinyl, 4 CD singles, 3 7" singles, 1 12" single, 1 12" white label remix, 2 pairs of gig tickets, 4 T-Shirts, 1 tour program, 1 set of badges, 1 courier bag and several magazines. Superfan is me.

Great to see Noel still in the Top 20. I don't think he'll be in the Top 20 for more than a couple more weeks. The only way that it will stay up is if Dream On does well and steadies sales. I still think that this album probably has about 50-75k more sales left in the UK for the rest of the year. If he can somehow get to 65 or 75k more sales in the Uk, then based on shipments, I think that he may have an outside shot at 1 million for worldwide sales.

<5 months to go double platinum, amazing.
Good to see Noel broadening his fanbase from the oasis diehards.

How long til this will outsell DOYS then? I'd be interested to hear liams reaction if this came up in an interview

Noel is probably 30-35K away from selling what DOYS did in the UK.
Probably 4-5 weeks until he beats that I would assume. IMO he'll definitely get there.
As for Liam. Who knows? Depends on what kind of mood he is in. He's just as likely to be genuinely congratulatory as he is to blast Noel because he "stole" half the album from Oasis.
Hopefully it's all good.

Apparently now Noel ha spent more consecutive weeks in the top 20 than any Oasis album other than WTSMG.

If he can hit 675K in the UK I think we can probably say that Noel has hit 1 million worldwide. He sold about 300K outside of the UK in 2011. And he is still getting some trickle sales around the world. I'm shocked that we could realistically be looking at Noel selling a million albums worldwide.

I remember saying that Noel get 1 million, but everything would have to go perfectly. Which is weird because everything hasn't gone perfectly. He came a bit short on my expectations for US sales (I was expecting somewhere around 65k total) and he came up a bit short in what I was expecting for the Japanese sales. Yet he's knocking on the door of one million. Amazing!

I'm just annoyed he hasn't made more of an assault on America... it's the perfect time to go all out there, the US charts is virtually empty and most of the acts in the UK Charts have also gone over to the states.

I believe Noel is going to be touring the USA again in mid to late June. He mentioned in several interviews he will be touring in America when The Stone Roses are playing concerts in the UK. Strange that he still hasn't announced any USA gigs for June yet but I guess that will come soon enough. Noel can tour all he wants and get all the old Oasis fans to show up. Other than that, he isn't going to make any major waves over here. 44 year old men don't break America with no hits singles or videos. It's a tough task.

Other than that, he isn't going to make any major waves over here. 44 year old men don't break America with no hits singles or videos. It's a tough task. I think it maybe possible, but Noel would have to do a couple of things. Firstly, I think he should seriously consider finding a major act and tour a bit lower on the bill. Take RHCP. As much people dislike him playing with them. If he toured with a band like that for a US tour for at least a decent amount of time (2-3 weeks), he could significantly increase his fanbase. Or say if a band like the Foo Fighters were touring through the US in July. That in itself would be great for him because he would be playing in a venue that he definitely wouldn't be able to fill on his own, while exposing his music to a large fanbase. Secondly, he's got to get better at promoting his songs. IIHAG should have been a hit song for him, but instead it lost steam and only got to #25 on the Alt. Rock charts. Noel basically left that single here to die, until he came here. Which by that time was too late to properly promote that single. Thirdly, he has to take more advantage of the late night circuit. It was nice that he did Letterman and Conan. But you have to do Leno and Jimmy Fallon would be nice too. And also, you have to go on those shows multiple times and not just once in a calendar year. That part is on his management. Lastly, he has to get to more major festivals. In the end, they're better for Noel than him playing to venue of 1,000-2,000 people who are already fans of him. Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, it's great that he's playing Coachella, Bonnaroo this would probably never happen, but the Pitchfork Music Festival has started to gain traction and is a good festival. Anyways, in a nutshell, he has to play more festivals in the US in the future. He's done well by playing an extensive US tour with multiple legs. He's also done well by going on a couple of good late night shows. But there is more that he can do. And I'm not saying he could achieve super stardom in the US, but he could definitely significantly improve his profile more than he has.

Yeah, it probably will drop. The best hope is that with the release of DO. Hopefully DO charts relatively well and gives the album a bit of a push for this week. But more than likely it will drop out of the Top 20 this week.
