No problem. It is a great chart run so far. This thread it great to read back. We go from pessimistic, to cautiously optimistic, to downright amazed. A reappearance in the top 10 would be great! I'm not convinced he'll end the week in the top 10 though. Particularly since the Jessie is currently below him @ 13 and she's a shoe-in for 3-4 Brit nominations tomorrow.

Wow! This is really amazing. If he manage a top 10 this week it will mean that it's in the top 10, 3 months after it's released. Has this happened to any Oasis release since Morning Glory??

Heathen Chemistry. Last week in the top 10 was it's 15th week out. But the lowest it had dropped to that point was 1 week @ 11. Despite the boards dismissive attitude towards HC (including my own) that album was a major success for them. More time in the top 10 and top 75 than any post MG Oasis album. Beats all the rest though. DBTT reentered the top 10 in weeks 10 and 11 though from a low of 29 4 weeks before.

Being nominated for/confirmed to play at the Brits will no doubt continue to help. Is it possible that he could stay in the top 20 until that performance on the 21st?

Maybe...but there haven't actually been many releases the past few weeks. we'll see how Noel does when new releases start popping into the charts in the next few weeks.

Well in Noel, fair play. With the Brits & Arena tour to come, this will keep selling.

Noel is at #8. Up 7. Wow. Good for him. Great to hear. Double Platinum is a sure thing. Will be interesting to see where he ends up. Hopefully a great Brits performance can push album sales closer to 700k.

This has been quite an unexpected run in the charts for Noel. Looks like he is going to catch DOYS pretty soon. It's almost a certainty at this point.
Unbelievable.
Sucks that he has pretty well done nothing in the states.

Down to 16 in midweeks. Another week in the top 20 looks likely though.

Hopefully it can stay around the Top 20 for a bit more. It would be nice if it were still in the Top 30 entering February, which is really looking like an important month with the NME cover, The Brit Awards and performance, thye arena tour, and posssibly the release of DO either toward the end of the month or the begining of March.

Coldplay to me have completely adopted U2's ethos of actually caring that your albums/singles get to #1, selling millions of albums, having sold out global tours. It bothers them when success doesn't match their own expectations. I remember reading a quote from Bono regarding No Line On The Horizons apparent "lack of success". He was basically shocked it wasn't universally embraced with so-so album sales and low singles chart placements. Those things shouldn't influence an artist's opinion on their own material. If they like it that's all that really matters. You don't always have to be #1 in everyone's hearts. So few bands achieve and sustain that. Just be grateful it happened at all.
