Wouldn't be surprised if TWB became one of my favorites.

After several listens on headphones and stereo i´d give it 8/10
I think no album will ever become as important as DM (10/10) and WTSMG(9/10) to Oasis fans again (BHN for me aswell). These are the defining albums. Columbia and Some might say (D`know what I mean)..Live Forever and Champagne Supernova (All around the world).. These were the days. Rock`n`Roll. The Liam Gallagher supreme voice.
EOTR- 9 DO- 7,5 IIHAG- 8,5 TDOYAM- 8,5 RM- 8,5 WAL- 7 SBAJF- 7,5 BA- 8 TWB- 8,5 STC- 8,5
Beside IIHAG I like the "KitchenSink" production. Wonder how the songs will work live?!
If I hadn`t listened to IIHAG, TDOYAM and WAL before and would`ve not been familiar to RM and STC I`d be totally blown away by NGHFB. Being an Oasis "fanboy" spoiled it somehow.. Imaging this album to come out in the 90`s, queing on the release day infront of the record shop, Liams with top voice on most tracks- It would be collossal.
But it`s a really, really good record. Though I have the feeling something was done with Noels voice on EOTR (autotune?)

9.5/10 for me.
For it to be a ten it needs a bit of a darker twist. A bit more Alone On The Rope-ish

On my 4th or 5th listen now. At the moment it's a 9.5 but that will change over time. Still absolutely lovin it at the moment. A really strong album with no fillers.

stopped reading there. You're either in denial or you just don't know what you're talking about. The only other possibility is that you actually believe what you're saying and you're just delusional. lol For the love of god people are allowed to have opinions. Funny thing is that lgfavre complains about people picking on his moronic opinions...but then does nothing but sit around threads rediculing everyone elses opinions. I think you are right in saying this is more comparable to 90's Oasis. DGSS was more comparable to 00's Oasis. But that makes sense. LAG were central in the 00's Oasis and Noel was 90's Oasis. They are great songs. I'll say one thing about these polls. There are always the extreme views. (11 and <6 or whatever) but in the end there always ends up being an appropriate peak bell curve arround a suitable number. In this case 9.

I'm going 9.5. I really do love it. This is the album I have been waiting for since becoming an Oasis fan.
I love EOTR, IIHAG, RM, BA, TDOYAM. And I really like all the rest. The weakest songs are still really good for me.
You know that three tier system that we had for DGSS? There is no bottom tier on this album for me. I don't dislike ANY of the songs. They're all in my wheelhouse. There isn't a HHL or MF on there.
But it's not really that shocking. Noel Gallagher is my personal favorite songwriter. The album might not be all things for all people...but it is for me.
I was worried about frontloading...but the SB&JF, BA, SOTWB stretch is strong.

I went for 8.
It's an enjoyable listen, and the first half of the album is excellent. It gets a bit ploddy after What A Life though, and (like DOYS) he seems to have saved the filler for the final few tracks.
Still, as I say, it's a good album and there isn't a bad song as such on the album. Not a masterpiece, but a good effort all the same.
Thats after 1 listen though.

DM 10/10 WTSMG 10/10 TMP 9.5/10 BHN 7/10 SOTSOG 8/10 HC 5/10 DBTT 6/10 DOYS 7/10 DGSS 4/10 NGHFB 9/10 Edit: Okay, it's not quite as good as The Masterplan. That's pretty much how I'd rank them save maybe have SOTSOG and BHN as 7.5s. This is an exceptional record. Great stuff from the Chief. To Liam and company, consider the bar officially raised.

9/10 for me, not a weak song, but some problems like some lazy lyrics and overproduction here and there doesn't make it a 10.

A solid seven from me, the production really drags down the best songs and elivates some of the ok-ish ones (TDOYAM, AKA...WAL for example). Can't see how people rate this album 10, 9.5 and 9. That's DM and MG (if we're just talking oasis albums) territory for me, and this album definetly doesn't come anywhere close to that... This rests stedily with the likes of DBTT, DOYS, DGSS and SOTSOG, wich all have songs that are 5-8 out of 10. And sure, I don't think this album has any 5:ers, but you can't say that the worst songs are better or as good here, as the worst songs on DM or MG. It's fine if you think this is a fuckin' great album, I really like it, but 9 or 10 / 10 warrants a masterpiece, something that will have people talking about it 20-30 years from now, and this is just not one of those albums. It's a solid effort and makes me long for the AA album, wich probably will be more to my liking. I agree completely, nice one.

Why do I have to base my opinion on what people will be talking about in 20-30 years time? That makes no sense. Surely I should base my opinion on what I like here and now? I agree that High Flying Birds will never have the same impact or importance or be as iconic as Definitely Maybe and Morning Glory, but that being said, High Flying Birds is easily up there as far as songwriting goes.

I mean so many ROCK songs lol. fucking laughable. And a suitable number for this album would be a 9? RLY? how did you arrive to that conclusion? you DO know that the retards voting 11's are actually voting 10's right? It's technically impossible to rate an album 11/10. so all the 10's there are(which is by your own account an extreme) and the 6's cancel each other out. Then HOW do you decide "yeah, 9 is an appropriate rating" ? Wouldn't an 8 be more objective/indicative of what an accurate rating for the album actually is? just saying...

If you remove all the less than 6's and more than 10's because more than likely they are trolls.
Mean - 8.75 Mode - 9 Median - 9
There ya go. THAT is why I said the general rating is around 9. just because you don't agree doesn't make it so.

It's a definite 9/10.
I have never gave an album 10/10, because nothing is PERFECT and it probably won't ever be.
This certainly comes close though.

The past SEVERAL Oasis albums (and even DGSS) were heavily frontloaded. To me I would thoroughly enjoy the beginning-to-middle of those albums as a fun ride, but by the time I got to the end of the album I would be completely bored and exhausted. Part of reason why I rate NGHFB so highly is because I enjoy the second half of the album just as much as the first. SBJF-BA-SOTWB-STC flow into each other really well.
