I had been listening to the soundcheck version and frankly it didn't spoil it for me. Also I think the final version has remained quite faithful to it so I wasn't disappointed either in that respect.

No one gives a fuck if the music's shit. And even if the music's good, about 0.000001% gives a fucking iota how it's associated with said artwork. Pretty incoherent reply but I'll do my best... I'm 100% sincere, it was quite a simple point which I know a lot of people would agree with. There are some Beady Eye who if Noel came out with DLBIA today, they would say "eh, it's okay".
Sad thing is that I think that there might be some Noel fans who'd do the same to Liam.

This song was great to me on the first listen...the only thing that trips me up is the minor differences in lyrics from the soundcheck version. It was the one song I was really really excited for on this album (aside from the general excitement of getting 10 new Noel tracks) so I'd listened to the soundcheck version a lot.
That said, it gets better for me with every listen and I can safely compare it favorably to TDOYAM, which I would give an 8 or 8.5 out of 10.

I've listened to it on repeat for the last hours Still can't get enough I've Listen to it for six hours straight now on repeat I Love it. the lyrics are so good. hope on a higher quality version of this song. it really blows you mind away, it's emotional/romantic tune and it's well played. it would be also al great tune to be played acoustic by Noel. I also think it wil sound live even beter. |

Thought it was average at first. 5 More times later and I fucking love it. Top tune and head and shoulders above TDOYAM which was painfully dull.

Hope I didn't speak too soon, My eyes have always followed you around the room, Coz you're the only God that I will ever need... Perhaps the most romantic lyrics Noel has ever written, I was expecting this song to sound SO different after the soundcheck and the reviews I've read and Noel's comments also, and at first I was disappointed it wasn't an Idler's Dream-esque atmospheric type of tune like I expected. When I heard the intro I immediately thought of the Record Machine demo..but after 2 or 3 listens I absolutely love this song completely unexpected, the lyrics are literally beautiful, but you have to notice them over the bluster to appreciate them |
