oh god just got back home and have been listening to this non-stop for the last half hour... ..lacks that haunting feeling? If this isn't haunting enough!! It's a really really really good song..I agree that it's not a 10/10, it does lack something I also think, but it's a 9/10 for me. When it's a 10/10 it means it cannot be improved, it's simply perfect in every aspect, a classic. With IIHAG I can't say that, I can see why some of you think it doesn't reach a climax. But it's a great song, I could listen to it for ever and live it is going to be amazing, I'm ready to get emotional with this Can't say anything else at the moment!

Oh Noel why couldn't you have left it as "FORGIVE me if I spoke too soon" instead of changing it to "EXCUSE me if I spoke too soon" and "HOPE I DIDN'T speak too soon". Spoils it for me a little bit.
Other than that it's mind bogglingly fucking brilliant.

Thank you for the music, Mr. Noel Gallagher. I really like TDOYAM, but I simply LOVE this. It makes me so happy at the moment... I guess I won't sleep tonight

After three listenings it's about the same quality as Half the World Away (7/10). Nothing epic and definitely not a classic, but good and it's awesome that the album seems so solid and even.

This song is fucking amazing. I've been listening to it on repeat for the past half hour too, and it's giving me goosebumps every time. The melody, lyrics, Noel's vocals, everything about it is incredible. I hope somebody has worked out the chords for this, cause I can't wait to learn to play it.
And when I say this is great, I'm not just talking great by late Oasis standards. I think this stands up there with the best Noel's ever done. I may be talking in the heat of the moment right now, but I've never thought that about any other song I've heard on the first listen.

Really didn't expect him to go quite as rocky with it, but such a good song.
Not liking the production though.

I may be talking in the heat of the moment right now [...]. yes but it doesn't happen often that you overrate one of Noel's songs. If you think it's good straightaway, most likely it is good. At least it rarely happens to me. EDIT: probably because we know exactly what to expect from him

Probably the best song I've heard in the past 3 years or so... 9.5/10, to be critically honest.

Just subjected it to the Live Forever test that I invented to see how good the song was, and it still managed to sound excellent after that. Definitely gonna stand the test of time in a few years imo

Wrong, people do give a fuck, including me. If you don't, then you should. Artwork is an essential part of the music, my love of 60s music has taught me that. Imagine the Beatles albums without the iconic album art? This is the problem these days, people like you treat music as disposable files downloaded on a computer, not complete pieces of someones art. Music as an art form is dying and its attitudes like this which speed it's decline. On the offchance that you're being at least a quarter sincere, way to perpetuate the stereotype that is the art hag, yeah? "art fag" is too strong for now. Come off it. No one gives a fuck if the music's shit. And even if the music's good, about 0.000001% gives a fucking iota how it's associated with said artwork. Pretty incoherent reply but I'll do my best... I'm 100% sincere, it was quite a simple point which I know a lot of people would agree with. Artwork is important, and that's easy to forget in these days of disposable downloadable music, not a complicated point to understand. "Come off it. No one gives a fuck if the music's shit." What are you talking about here?

To all the people who wanted it to be more like the soundcheck: It's quite possible that we'll hear an acoustic version someday (might be very soon)

great song
I hope it won't feel like let there be love though, where I initially loved it and then pretty soon got turned off of it. LTBL gave me goosebumps upon first listen, now it doesnt do anything to me.
I only mention LTBL because it's a similar tempo, similar soaring melody. hopefully i'm wrong

Beautiful song...
But I feel like it's fallen short due to the awful production, which has turned it into a mid-tempo plodder... I'd like to keep Noel and Dave Sardy apart for evermore.

I'm going to get shot down for this (awesome I got a "gun" pun in!!!) but I can't help but compare this to kill for dream because its the same tempo extra. KFAD is a good song but there is no comparison IIHAG is something special. This album is going to be amazing if he keeps it up like this. Don't know if its just my ears but theres a section of the last chorus of the song that sounds like its going to kick into "blinded by the sun" by the seahorses

To all the people who wanted it to be more like the soundcheck: It's quite possible that we'll hear an acoustic version someday (might be very soon) I'm glad my first experience hearing this song wasn't a shitty quality sound check from an unfinished song. I stay away from that stuff for a reason.

Yeah, the old soundcheck version took away from, I guess, the "newness" of it, and it's easy to nitpick at it a bit more than other releases, but come on... this song is amazing! I'm just thankful that I'm finally hearing good music again
