I woke up this morning excited, and I see it's all over the place. Can't wait to hear it. I'm going to read other opinions before I listen myself.
I'm so jakked!!!

Just as good as Wonderwall, if not better. Will be remembered as one of Noel's greats.

I can't make a fair assessment.
I've been playing it to myself for too long on my guitar over the past couple of years. I had already made my mind up as to how I wanted it to sound. I'm pretty I'm undervaluing it for that reason.
For the moment is a 8.5/10 for me.
Even with my judgement being somewhat clouded, I don't think that anyone can put this among the Masterplan, DLBIA, etc. I think it will fit in the second rung of really really good Noel songs. But I don't think it's a classic, or it will be up there with the classics. I think the euphoria of the moment is getting to some people.
To each their own I guess.

1st go at lyrics:
If I had a gun, I'd shoot a hole into the Sun And love will burn this city down for you If I had the time, I'd stop the world and make you mine And everyday would stay the same with you
Ah-aaaa
Give you back a dream, show you now what might have been If all the tears you cried would fade away I'd be by your side, when they come to say goodbye We will live to fight another day
Excuse me if I spoke to soon, my eyes have always followed you around the room Coz you're the only, God that I will ever need I'm holding on waiting for the moment to find me
Ah-aaa
I hope I didn't speak to soon My eyes have always followed you around the room Coz you're the only God that I will ever need I'm holding on and waiting for the moment for my heart to be unbroken, by the sea
Ah-aaa
Let me fly you to moon My eyes have always Followed you around the room Coz you're the only God I'll ever need I'm waiting for the moment to find me
If I had a gun, I'd shoot a hole into the Sun And love will burn this city down for you
FUCKING AMAZING.

It's really really really good, but in no way do I think it's a 10/10. That literally means perfect. Absolute (or extremely close to it) perfection. You can't tell me that this is Perfection.

Just as good as Wonderwall, if not better. Will be remembered as one of Noel's greats. It's a solid, 8-9 / 10 but NOTHING he has ever done will be as famous or critically acclaimed as Wonderwall. Not saying that is correct, but it is the truth

Best out of the 3 we've heard from Noel. This is phenomenal. Keep em coming Noel. It feels like getting two Oasis albums in one year in a sense, so I love this.

It's an extremely good song, but I kinda agree. Very high second rung, with Talk Tonight, Slide Away, TIOBI, Magic Pie, or Stand By Me. I disagree with your opinion that it won't be a classic though. It will be as much of a classic as the above mentioned.

Disagree with spaneli. This is a top tier NG tune. Fits comfortably with the classics.
I've mentioned this before in this forum, but Noel's late period tunes-as great as they are-seem "crafted" (SCYHO, TIOBI), whereas the MG and DM stuff sounds seamlessly brilliant-like Noel was making great songs out of whole cloth with no labour.
As much as I like TDOYAM-it sounds like the toil of a craftsman. IIHAG is like the tunes on the old ones--it sounds completely seamless, plucked out of the air. Just a beautiful, timeless tune that goes where it should without sounding obvious.

That is the first time I've ever heard Slide Away described as second rung!
Also the first time I've ever heard Slide Away equated to Magic Pie!

It's really really really good, but in no way do I think it's a 10/10. Sure, it's pretty bold to call it a 10/10 this early in the piece, I reckon you gotta live with it for a while. But at the same time, I definitely reckon it could be a classic. IMO the lyrics are vintage Noel, vocal melodies are sublime, it's anthemic and the production is great. All the ingredients for a "classic" Noel Gallagher song. Time will tell.

Just a beautiful, timeless tune that goes where it should without sounding obvious. It could become a classic in it's own right, but I don't see it being a "true" classic, that we mention in the same breath some of the great Oasis songs or some of the great songs of other artists. Which is what I'm trying to say. TIOBI is a classic, but it's a classic in a different way.

It's great. 8.5/10
But as I said in the other thread, because I have been listening to the soundcheck for 3 years listening to this is a bit like hearing a cover of a song you've loved for a long time. It will take a will to get used to the new version. It'll probably be a solid 9 for me this time tomorrow.
I actually think it would have been great it they have put a little echo on the chorus because I love that effect in the souncheck. But That is just a bit of that whole "cover" mentality. The original is better because...whatever.
Between this and TDOYAM this album is shaping up brilliantly.
I'd rank this top tier of what I have heard from ex-Oasis this years.
