There are arm-loads of scientific research that disagrees with you (sonic difference between 128 and 320).
I for one can ONLY do it (tell the difference) with very specific recordings in very precise conditions. And again, the difference is fantastically small...and certainly not found in "muddy" bass"...which, as you know, is really the LAST area of the sound spectrum where humans can reliably infer distinctions.
And to be perfectly honest, none of that aforementioned material is on an Oasis or Noel Gallagher recording.
And, lol, I'm certain the Chief would agree with me as he's gone on record numerous times remarking on the bad to worse sonic quality of Oasis material (and no one in the industry disagrees with him).

the best thing is that this wasn't even mentioned as one of the best of the album. brilliant!

heres my 0.000002 cents about it. i really love the song but i do think its over produced. i really liked the sound check version and the haunted feeling that had and i think noel could had done alot better production wise with the song... i'm absolutely sure it will sound great live but on record sounding like this i kinda wish liam sang on it. and i know thats irrelevant but i think its a wasted great, great melody....

Not sure why people say it doesn't have that haunting feeling. It does. I think the single art goes great with it.

Great tune...the magic bits...or as Super Hans would say ''oh he's done something there!" ''waiting for the moment to find me!" and then when he sings it second thing around with "...be unbroken by the sea" ...magic Simple lyrics in the verse, but pretty powerful...some of Noel's favourite words like sun, dream, fade away and city make an appearance. I shudder to think where I'd be if I heard this straight off without any sound check malarky. With a decent music video this could be Huge!! It's definitely a tune to listen to in a field at about 5 in the afternoon with a bit of overcast You're just cheerful little fuck aren't you?...By the way, what season?

I remember in the DM DVD where they were talking about Live Forever and I believe it was Bonehead who said something along the lines of: "I didn't want that song to stop, I wanted it to go on until it's [sound effect] out there...."
Feel the same with this one. Wish it didn't end. Ever. It's so very good.
Noel really has done well here. And here's the scary and most exciting thing: There's a strong chance that there are even better songs on the album (Record Machine, potentially, etc).
An album comparable to WTSMG? Is that really an imminent possibility?

Apart from what I wrote in the other thread, IIHAG fails to reach a climax at some point. It's a bit flat in the delivery and doesn't build up into something really anthemic. The production is not "poor", but could've been much much better. However, the song itself is top notch. After the initial "Oh-My-God-That's-A-New-Noel's-Tune" excitement, still 7/10 for me. I certainly don't believe in the "OH MY GOD ITS A NEW NOEL TUNE" syndrome that some of you claim others have as a way to dismiss their opinion. I didn't get that OMG ITS A NEW NOEL TUNE feeling when I heard TDOYAM and its B-side. Although I liked both songs, IIHAG feels epic to me. I heard it the first time and I was like , what the F did I just hear? I can't stop playing it. Definitely one of Noel's best and its an instant classic.

best tune of the album so far, altought i think its a good tune, it absolutely can't compare with DLBIA, IOBI, Masterplan and lots of other oasis tunes. and to be honest (i'm curious how many people want to smash my head in with a bottle right now ) imo 9 of the 13 DGSS tracks are stronger material than any of the songs i've heard so far

sounds like Mat Kearney's "Nothing Left To Lose". I actually really liked it. 7.5/10 for me. can't rate it any higher than that because i don't think it's as good as some Oasis songs that are definite 8's . still a really good song. and it probably wont be the best on the album too. Will it be the most commercial? i think so.
This only goes to show just how overrated TDOYAM was. seriously, that song is good but it was nothing special.
This song however, it's really nice, having said that, i don't like the naahhhh nahh... bits, it's just a bit lazy imo. I would've thought Noel would've come up with some lyrics for that part but whatever, the song is still great.
Let's be honest, this sound is very OneRepublic-ish? now, not trying to say OneRepublic sucks because i actually enjoy some of their songs but... that band is not one i would qualify as a "great rock band". Then again, Noel isn't going for that rock sound anymore (imo). this is much more softer. nothing wrong with that either.
very much looking forward to EOTR. Unlike with IIHAG, i've actually listened to the youtube clips.
anyways, can't get the OneRepublic sound/Nothing left to lose similarities out of my head. Obviously, i understand Oasis was notorious for "borrowing" and what have you but it's one thing to emulate the Beatles music, maybe The Who... but OneRepublic? just have to process the fact that Noel is now a singer-songwriter act, no longer is he a rock act.

I liked when TDOYAM came out, but didn't love it. I'm in love with this masterpiece from Noel. Whether it's a 9 or 10 is a moot point, but I just don't understand those select few who say this doesn't stand along side his best work. For me, it so evidently does. Oasis always had something magical about them with Noel and Liam complimenting each other on stage with trading vocals, or harmonizing vocals, and the attitude, etc But when Noel writes something like this, it's pure magic, too.

You can tell the difference between 128K and 320K MP3s. I ran that test and could tell the difference on my £250 Logitech speakers.

To be fair, no one gives a fuck about the artwork, let alone the single artwork. Wrong, people do give a fuck, including me. If you don't, then you should. Artwork is an essential part of the music, my love of 60s music has taught me that. Imagine the Beatles albums without the iconic album art? This is the problem these days, people like you treat music as disposable files downloaded on a computer, not complete pieces of someones art. Music as an art form is dying and its attitudes like this which speed it's decline.

On the offchance that you're being at least a quarter sincere, way to perpetuate the stereotype that is the art hag, yeah? "art fag" is too strong for now. Come off it. No one gives a fuck if the music's shit. And even if the music's good, about 0.000001% gives a fucking iota how it's associated with said artwork.
