I don't know why but I really like the line:
'we will live to fight another day'
The verses are beautiful. / His voice is great. / Can't wait to hear this live.

Have to admit I'm slightly underwhelmed after hearing this compared to the soundcheck song, but to be fair the soundcheck was bloody brilliant. Its still a good solid 8/10 for me though and I get the feeling it'll grow with more listens. TDOYAM was ok but this is the song where you sit up and take notice, if that makes sense. Edit - Just listened again from the RKID download. Sounds much better compared to the Youtube video

Still waiting to hear a proper version before I fully rate it. It sounds really good, but also sounds very compressed. TDOYAM is pristine and sounds great compared to this so I'm hoping a legit version will bring out some of the layers and improve the overall sound significantly.
Gonna sound like a bit of a doucher when I say it's hard for me to fully enjoy the song knowing the digital release should sound a lot better. The melody is fantastic though.

Weirdly, in both IIHAG and TDOYAM, I've found the verses far more memorable than the choruses on the first few listens. That wasn't the case with Oasis songs.

I'm almost 100% certain neither TDOYAM nor IHAG are out there in anything but 128kbps form.
Unless of course some douche re-ripped a 128 into a phony (actually sonically inferior) 320.

funnily enough, most cannot discern a 128 from a 320 rip all else being equal.
And certainly not on most playback systems.
Side by side ABX's have been done a million times over to prove so. People are more enamored with the IDEA of superior quality than the real thing.
Although, to be sure that's not to say some cannot make a distinction....especially through higher fidelity systems...and especially so through a great set of h-phones.

I've got a 320kbps version of TDOYAM i bought off NG's website that sounds 400x better than IIHAG. I'm fully expecting IIHAG to take a good leap in quality when the legit version is available.

There exists many scientific white papers on the matter, I'd invite you to google them.

^ yeah a bit I suppose.
But I used to spend a lot of time and money buying into sonic myths...and I ended up eating a lot of crow.
hate to see others do the same.

Its amazing!!!!
I didn't want the song to end, it could have gone on for 10 mins like AATW and still been amazing. I was hoping for an extra "ah..." bit after the quieter last few lines in the song.....please noel have a reprise on the single!!!!
So far 3 great songs for Noel, and I think Record machine was fantastic, STC has potential when properly produced. This could be an amazing album

I think the best line is:
"And waiting for the moment For my heart to be unbroken by the sea"
I just smile every time I hear that line. Nice imagery.

Mate, start another shit thread and call it "Appreciation shrine for my for 30,000$ penis prosthesis" and post this photo there. You're probably more annoying than us "production moaners."

yeah, call it a one day bad habit cuz when you attest to such a thing around here you immediately have a dozen shit-talkers telling you you're full of shit and to post proof.
but by placing a $-sign after your zeroes you prolly already knew that.

Again, a 320 and a 128 rip from an identical source using the identical software are nearly indiscernable from one another. Certainly not 400x higher in fidelity. There exists many scientific white papers on the matter, I'd invite you to google them. That's a huge load of crap. 128k is not horrible quality by any means (its listenable), but there is a noticeable difference in 128k and 320k. I don't care who's written what, I've heard the 2 and I can tell a difference. Anything below 192k and the bass gets muddy and you lose a lot of the punch of the higher quality versions. After years and years of listening to MP3s of varying quality, I can tell just by listening if a lower quality MP3 is being played. There's a richness to the sound of MP3s 192k and up that's not there otherwise. If I compare IIHAG and the 320k version of TDOYAM that i have, there's a huge difference in quality. If there's no noticeable improvement between this version and the actual release then i will be extremely disappointed in the song from a production standpoint.
