Anyone catch where they hid the pedal steel? I can't hear it for the life of me The quality of the mp3 is such that it's hard to hear much beyond the instruments that are mixed the loudest, but you can definitely hear it at the very end.

We knew Beady Eye were gonna get the "lacks Noel's songwriting!" claims, and Noel was gonna get the "imagine Liam singing this!" remarks.
It is kinda pointless but inevitable.

after "cause you're the only" i wanna start singing "lost behind a silver screen are all the things you could've been" etc. not that i think it copies. it's great on it's own, and where it goes. great tune.

I think an album version of this with Liam would be just fine, but I prefer Noel's voice on tracks that aren't very rock n' roll. I think his voice is perfectly suited for the album he's made, just as Liam's voice is perfectly suited for the style of BDI.
I find Noel's voice on this to be extremely soothing, and I expect it to be quite a live anthem. His vocal delivery probably won't be too much different from what we're hearing on the album version, which was a hallmark of Oasis' live shows in the 90's/early 2000's when Liam was in his prime.
Hearing a song that's amazing live definitely has the power to change my perception of it in a positive way, much like hearing Liam destroy IOT on the DOYS tour hurt that song in my eyes. I think this song will turn out to be better overall because Noel sung it extremely well on the album version and will be able to belt it live rather than a perhaps equal though different album version sung by Liam and potentially lackluster live performance.
We know exactly what we're getting from Noel when he sings live...Liam's a bit of a wildcard now (though he's miles better with BDI than on the DOYS tour).

The song sounds much, much better to me on the second day than it did yesterday. It's a very uplifting song, I think because it didn't sound like I expected it to sound and the subtle differences between the soundcheck version kind of distracted me yesterday.
I'm ready to give it a solid 9/10 as my final verdict.

People givin' this song 10/10...oh dear, take off the Noel-tinted glasses. A song would have to be absolutely perfect to get this and this song ain't. Don't think much of the production to be honest but I'll wait to I hear the proper album version through a decent soundsystem first to confirm this. 7/10 I'd give it.. Think it maybe spoiled it a bit for me hearin' the soundcheck version so many times. I'll definitely not be listenin' to the 30 second previews whe they become available.

People are giving it that because it's a fucking great song. I've played this song for various people and haven't heard a negative (or even neutral) reaction yet.

Love Noel and all, but I'm just not feeling this track..
Beginning of it reminds me of Wonderwall.
And I think that if Noel would've just done this as a simple acoustic song (Him and a guitar. Not him, a guitar an electric guitar, backing singers etc) like the soundcheck would've been better. Someone else hit the nail on the head when they said "less is more".

You're right music is subjective up to a point, but would you be comfortable with this sitting along side Stairway To Heaven, Gimmie Shelter, Like A Rolling Stone, Yesterday, Live Forever? Really? I can understand people loving this song, giving it 9.75 or whatever but a perfect score? One of the greatest songs of all time? I personally don't think so, not even close.

well there are people out there who wouldn't give those songs a 10/10. it's overall a subjective decision. i would give stairway to heaven a 10/10. but i wouldn't give like a rolling stone the same score, just because i don't like this song that much and i don't think it's as good as many critics think.
IIHAG is a 9/10 for me. and i'm ok with that. it probably changes in a while but for now it's a stunning song
everybody will rate it a bit lower in 3-4 months thats for sure. i found it kind of ridiculous back then when most people said that the beat goes on is better than the masterplan. but i respect their opinions. so i kind of respect your point

I just search on youtube for IIHAG and I saw that bunch of upload of it was removed in the past hours (still there are few).
It's that possible because of official NGHFBvevo upload is very near?

Bohemian Rapsody by Queen, I cannot bear the sound of it and yet it is considered a classic in my country, i'm happy with that because I appreciate why people like it even though not liking it myself.

(just proved your point ) But seriously, that song is brilliant. That's one of those songs, even if you don't like it, you can see why everyone else thinks it's amazing. Like A Rolling Stone is a 10/10 in my book. But to each their own.

well like a rolling stone never did it for me. it's alright but in the sense that everybody thinks it's one of the best songs ever, i don't really understand that. i need this "in your face" moment to rate a song over 8,5

Whats with all these boners on youtube that have to post themselves covering songs? I mean post the audio, fine, but leave yourself out of the picture.

I'm pretty sure I know the difference between fact and opinion. Some people are givin' it 10/10 cos it's Noel that wrote it, simple as that. Everybodys opinion is different, I can accept that it's just not a classic song or a perfect song that's all I'm saying.

That song is one of few times where Dylan's melody was just as good as his words. The drums, bass, the riffs and fills, the piano, the keyboards, the words. Everything. I can't describe how many different ways you can listen to that song. But like I said, to each their own. But man, that's the one Dylan song where the genius is very apparent imo. But yeah, that ;s your opinion and I respect that.

It's not subjective "to a point". It's subjective. Period. There's no way to "objectively" judge music. You picked some good classic songs, but music is all about the listener in the end. IIHAG connects with me more than most of the songs you listed. Does that make it better? No, it doesn't. It's not worse, either. For example, if some kid wants to give a Justin Bieber tune 10/10 and Thirteen by Big Star 0/10, that's fine by me. I may not be able to understand a point of view like that, but it's all up to the listener. That's what makes music so beautiful, in my opinion.
