A mistake... I just want to hear Liam singing on this tune with Noel on High notes in a studio version.... dont care about live version.... Noel could do that in an accoustic shape.

It's very Noel by the numbers.... But it's also fantastic Noel by the numbers. If the album turns out to be tunes like this I'll enjoy it immensely, but I'll still be hungry for that AA produced album!

He sounds strained and is off whenever the note get a bit high.
Imagine that voice butchering If I Had a Gun. I didn't look for the worst clips I could. Just the first ones that popped up.
I shudder to think.
Excuse if I spoke to soona (bitten off in a snarling straining voice) ahhh-ahhh-ahhh-ahh-ah (sung in pinched closed vowels....more like ehhhh-ehhh-ehh-eh...and probably off pitch and bitten off @ the end or abandoned halfway through for good measure)
Liam is sounding good with BDI. But if Oasis hadn't split...he wouldn't have had the impetus to smarten up. I'm not confident that his vocal improvement was inevitable.
PS...just listen to Noel tackle the "Take me there, take me there..." vocal outro.
He really needs to play this on his tour...

This song is really for Liam. During the "ahahahahaha" It really doesn't. It's got Noel written all over it. If it was an Oasis track it would be one of Noels 3 songs he sings on the album. Liam in no era could have done this song justice. this song is 100% Noel. Sure Liam could sing high (For Anyone) but he just can't belt it out anymore but yet still have the control over his voice like Noel does. It'd be interesting to hear Liam but its a Noel tune.

I have to say I was a bit shocked by the song at first (I imagined a different kind of song, more quiet and acoustic), after more listening...this song is bloody brilliant, something that goes under my skin. I love it.
I'm more and more confident that this album is gonna be a proper classic.

This is one of those songs that could totally go both ways in regards to singers. I can hear Liam singing this confidently (BHN-SOTSOGs era) even though it's the verse melody that makes me think this. Same with Noel. This is a lot like Slide Away in that aspect. Liam would definitely butcher this live though, so no point

Am I the only one who gets really fucking annoyed with all the 'imagine Liam' on this tune bullshit? He's not on it because Noel is solo now. Get over it and enjoy what you have for-fucks-sake! Anyone who thinks that Liam would add 'a ton' to this track have missed the train. Noel finished off this song with the intent of him singing it and it works for him. Emotive, soothing, yearning, endearing. Please, get off of Liam's cock and give Noel some credit as a great vocalist. Quite frankly, Noel has been better than Liam for the better part of a decade. Well done, Noel. Keep it coming. Can't wait for the next track I hear off this album. Cheers! Blame Nostalgia! Well said, people are not giving enough credit to Noel on this brilliant vocal performance, there is so much more intricate skill involved here that Liam could never reach, and paradoxically Noel's voice is as twice as good as it was when he was practically half his current age Oh and K+ for the radio effort from the other thread, im gonna send a few out today if i can find the time

I enjoying this track... it's wonderwull ! But I'm sure this one was for Liam during the oasis period. you're more than likely correct. as for the whole "liam would butcher this live" thing, well... to be 100% honest, in the end, when i buy an album, im not thinking gosh, i wonder how this is going to sound like live. songs i hear on the radio are album versions, not live. songs that were released decades ago, even Oasis songs that are still being played all over the states like Wonderwall and Champagne Supernova, we hear the album versions. In the end, it's almost undeniable that Liam would've sang the shit out of this song(a very good one btw). Noel does a very good job but Liam's voice is in a league of its own. Noel himself admits that.

This song gets better and better. I genuinely think it could be up there with Slide Away, Live Forever etc but only time will tell.

Every listen gets better.
Noel is the boss. Does it nearly everytime
Not going to rate it for a while after we've had the album.
But man, it is a tune. The lyrics, the melodies, the story.
This album is shaping up to be a cracker.

Every listen gets better. Agreed! Can't stop listening to this wonderful song I'm actually a bit surprised they chose to make this song electric. I always thought Noel would using a choir and strings on this song. Really really pleased with the result though, as I think they've managed to keep the tenderness from the soundcheck, yet at the same time managed to keep it raw, like say Slide Away was. Beautiful ballad in the true rock'n'roll spirit. Well done by Sardy and Noel. By the way, does anyone else think Noel will put out a alternative version that is more in the veighn of Waiting For The Rapture alternative version?

Been listening to it all day too. First listen I was disappointed but I can't get enough now. Why he released TDOYAM is a mystery. Would have been a good fourth single when he was running out of singles.
The reason I was first disappointed was it wasn't the sound check. If I handy heard that I would have loved it straight away. But now I love this more than the sound check.
Only criticism is it ends foo suddenly.

I'm happy with Noel's singing. I haven't thought about Liam singing it before some of you mentioned it. And I love to say: I'm addicted to it! I have listened to it more than TDOYAM within one day. And I actually like TDOYAM.

You can tell the difference between 128K and 320K MP3s. I ran that test and could tell the difference on my £250 Logitech speakers. yeah ok. Your one-time nailing of a 50/50 proposition against moutains of science. I'd love to get you golden ears together for some serious listening and watch you fall flat on your ass, I mean face. And by the way if you spent 250 on your logitech speakers someone was laughing their ass all the way to the bank.

He could certainly sing it in a studio setting with a rested voice. He would never last singing it live.

Clearly you have not read my various post across this forum, but I actually enjoy BDI and Liam's vocals and appreciate what he brought to Oasis. He is the 'sound'. Epic frontman. However, it irks me to hear people belittling Noels vocal abilities in favor of a guy who often comes across more like Kermit the Frog than Pavarotti.

I have seen your posts, many of them and they mostly paint you to be the person you are accusing others of being. I didn't see many belittling Noel's voice, fact is its improved leaps and bounds in the last 10 years. I just saw people saying they would rather hear Liam sing it. Nothing wrong with that. Liam is no kermit in the studio, evan a passing listen to DGSS is enough to show you that.
