Maaaan, why must this always happen when I'm at work! I'm missing out on all the fun! Still, what a great thing to come home to. I mean, I FUCKING LOVE this song. We all knew this song was going to be something special, and I'm really happy the way it turned out. Definitely one for the ages I remember when I said that IIHAG would be the best Noel song since DGA. Don't think I was as far off base as some people were saying at the time.

Sure...if Noel ever says that the BDI album would have been better with his input then I'll be criticising him. I'll probably even be annoyed at him if he says that his album is better than theirs. If Noel says it in a joking way then you'd have to be pretty highly strung to get annoyed about it. Liam has said Noels album will be "fuckin' great" multiple times. And yet now that the music is actually coming out...not hearing a lot of praise. Noel has specifically praised BDI. I hope Liam will reciprocate...or just leave off...either way is fine. He isn't saying it would sound better with him to be funny...he is saying it to be critical.

Sounded really genuine when he said Good Luck to them and what not. Like you say, lets hope BDI will reciprocate and it doesn't turn into a slanging Vs match.

T-Minus 14 minutes for that bald dude to have an acoustic cover up on YouTube. You knew it was coming. ;D But he is great at what he does. He does phenomenal guitar lessons, especially if you're a beginner.

See, that guy nailed the second 'ahhhh' bit. That will forever bug me in Noel's studio version.

I'm always slightly creeped out when people play music on youtube and look into the camera.

He isn't saying it would sound better with him to be funny...he is saying it to be critical. He's saying it as a joke ffs, how can you possibly think otherwise? Just ignore the fact that he's said Noel's album will be "great" and Noel's pretty disparaging comments during the press conference that had most of the forum up in arms. It's nice that Noel's being supportive of BDI, since Gem is pretty much his best mate. Liam's not attacked Noel's work once if you discount a joke about it sounding better with him singing (what do you expect him to say? "my voice is going, Noel was better off going solo") which was a very obvious joke. Even his "Dido" slur turned out to be a messed up attempt at spelling dildo (which, forgive me if I'm wrong, isn't an attack on his musical prowess).

Very good point, but he could just take the high road and not comment on their vocals at all. No one's asked him "who do you think has a better voice, you or Noel?" in an interview, at least not to my knowledge.

It was a joke, it was as threatening and critical as Noels attempted terrorist attack on Kazakhstan with his iPad.

He has also made comments about Noel's album and tours being boring.
It's a bit of a take with one hand give with the other. Even if he were just as positive as he is negative, which he isn't, I don't think a good comment cancels out a bad one.
Sure Noel made some negative comments about the circumstances about the ending of Oasis. But there was always going to bad blood about the ending. Liam has also been nasty when talking about the events on that last tour and Noel.
Noel has never been negative about BDI. Not once. Not even in jest. He has praised when pressed for an opinion or asked a direct question.
But not only has Liam's bitterness caused him to talk badly about Noel in the context of the end of Oasis but also in the context of his new career.
I do agree that if he doesn't have anything nice to say he shouldn't have said anything at all.
It's as generally accepted that Noel is a stronger song writer and Liam is a stronger vocalist. Liam picked on a thing that he knows that Noel is vulnerable to criticism for.
How would Liam feel if Noel mentioned in an interview that he liked some of the BDI tunes but if he had been in the band he'd have done some of the arrangements a bit different and maybe some different instrumentation and they would have been better for it. That what BDI lack is an undisputedly great songwriter the bring those songs up to snuff.
That would basically be the same thing. Noel picking on BDI where he knows they are vulnerable.

This thread was started 2 and a half years ago and to avoid all confusing and false excitements, I think it's better to close this thread now.
Hopefully Noel will bring us some good news soon (or not). Time will tell.
