I loved it but the old lyrics were much much better! "Forgive me if I spoke to soon" is better than "excuse me"... Exactly! Also, he shouldn't have changed the melody in the "my eyes have always" line. After first few plays: 7/10 for the song, 6/10 for the production. As of the moment I have it as an 8.5/10.

Am I the only one that absolutely loves the way he sings "my eyes have always", just that slight difference from the soundcheck version makes all the difference. first thing i noticed - i love it!

right now i'd rate it 8.5/10 and TDOYAM was an 8/10 but grew on to be a 8.5/10 for me and I think this one might reach 9/10 in the coming days perhaps even higher?

I think this is a 9/10 song. Better than Wonderwall, IMO.

I was hoping for better production to be honest.

I think this is a 9/10 song. Better than Wonderwall, IMO. You might want to let the euphoria past before making that statement.

If I had a gun, i'd shoot a hole into the sun Love will burn this city down for you If I had the time, i'd stop the world and make you mine and everyday would stay the same with you
(aaaaaaaahhhh)
give you back the dream, show you now what might have been For the tears you cried would fade away I'll be by your side when they come to say goodbye We will live to find another day
Excuse me if I spoke too soon My eyes have always followed you around the room 'cause you're the only God that i'll ever need i'm holding on and waiting for the moment to find me
(aaaaahhhhh)
Hope i didn't speak too soon My eyes have always followed you around the room 'cause you're the only God that i'll ever need i'm holding on and waiting for the moment for my heart to be unbroken by the sea
(aaaaaaahh)
Let me fly you to the moon My eyes have always followed you around the room 'cause you're the only God that i'll ever need i'm holding on and waiting for the moment to find me
If I had a gun, i'd shoot a hole into the sun Love will burn this city down for you

9/10 easily and that's probably what I'll think after I've played it 5000 times and got a bit bored of it, right now it sounds unbelievable!

Played it a few times now, 6.5/10 for me so far. 4/10 for production. I'm actually quite gutted now, it could have been so much more, even small things like the ahh-aaah-ahhh-etc. bit from the SC made the song much better. That + worse lyrics + the dissapearance of that beautiful echo form the SC.

I'm only gonna give it 9/10.
For a 10/10 it needs:
1) Strings in the chorus 2) To be a bit slower 3) "Forgive me if.." instead of "Excuse me.." in the chorus 4) Perhaps a choir in the "Ahhh" bits after the "undone a the seems" moment.

Probably as good as Wonderwall and some other big Oasis tunes. Time will tell if it´s one of the big golden ones (Masterplan, Don´t look back in anger, Whatever), but it´s near.

I loved it but the old lyrics were much much better! "Forgive me if I spoke to soon" is better than "excuse me"... Nah, "Excuse me if I spoke too soon/My eyes have always followed you around the room..." is fine. It's a Fitzgeraldean thing, isn't it? You wouldn't say "Forgive me if I spoke too soon...". would you? cause that would be like admitting wrong before you have ever even done the deed. Another thing, I dunno but Noel's new stuff so far has been sounding a bit like Aimee Mann's better stuff. but of course, better melodically, exponentially so.

Just listened to it 4 times in a row now, and will only add to that in the coming hour. This is utter utter class. The melody is perfect. And how Noel has a melancholic sound with positive lyrics gives it that euphoric quality that Noel has became famous for. This is vintage Noel. This is beautiful.

I genuinely think this is the best song Noel has written since 95. I too miss the old lyrics and the falsetto, but the melody just 'sings' in a way that only a genuine oasis classic does. 10/10!

I just got home and listened to it, i think it is absolutely stunning, i liked the soundcheck version alot but i love this, agree with the "forgive me" lyrics but maybe its cos we got so used to them and will like "excuse me" as much when we are fully used to the recorded version
Extremely single worthy
9/10 for me at the moment
