Just bothered myself to read the rest of this thread... oops only a few hours behind :-)
Top 15, possibly top 10, pretty amazing for a "whisper" of a song which was considered as a freebie rather than a proper first single.
Can't wait to hear single #2 now!

Because you never know if those sources are right or wrong. Maybe they are good forums and all, but it's better to hear from a trusted official source, not some guy who buys it off the street every week. I mean, these are the same forums who go and buy leaks off some other people for $300+ to boost traffic. Music Week is the main source of the data on chart forums. Music Week is given the midweeks directly from the OCC, meaning if they are wrong then the BBCR1 midweek chart would also be wrong too since its the same source. I'm not too sure what the "some guy who buys it off the street" means though... Or the leaks thing. exactly! dunno what that person is on about

Think it'll drop the top ten now because everyone's got their physical copies and downloads by now, and no major promotion is due. #13?

^^ I would guess #13-14. Unless he does some major unexpected promotion to push the song back up on iTunes.

Noel should get his finger out his ass and buy 20,000 copies of his new single. We're doing our bit.

Who cares where he charts? I am just happy that he can make music and release it any time he wants. That should be the only thing that matters with fans. He already has had immense chart success with Oasis which now allows him to record at will in his solo career. You think Neil Young gives a shit where his singles or albums chart? Hell no. He just wants to make music. Noel himself even said he no longer cares about chart placement or single sales at this point. The industry has changed and so has he.

The reason it's so high, is because it's just like all the commercial shit that's riding at the top of the charts at the moment. If Noel had the balls/talent to do something like BTL, he would gain a bit of respect for sticking his middle finger at Simon Cowell et al.

I heard Noel is doing a track called BLT, inspired by a hero sandwich, Which is obviously similar to BTL, he is apparently on his way home now with the bacon and it will be ready for October 17th And i believe turning down Simon Cowells offer of judging the X factor could be seen as sticking his middle finger up at him. True story Respect gained Regards

Beadyeyeunofficial is so right. NG is a fucking sellout.
Forget what you've heard on the demos. Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds is actually a tribute to the young artists dominating the charts over the past three years. Everybody's On the Run is a dead clone for Kesha, Dream On sounds like "Swagger Jagger" with less depth, Record Machine has been retooled to sound exactly like Pitbull and Stop The Clocks features a guest vocal by Will Young.
Add those atrocities to the fact that he released a lead single that blatantly piggybacks on the latest pop trends such as New Orleans jazz solos, Kinks-style shuffles and country rock strings.
Grow a pair, Noel, and release something as complex and groundbreaking as Bring The Light.

NG in the top ten in Uk... Dont look on the France chart... Probably the worst country for music.... David Guetta is french... I'm sure you will understand.... My country is the worst place for talent.
