I bought it but will only buy it the once. Certainly don't think it deserves to be much higher than where it is now. And the stuff higher than it does?

The Death of You and Me is currently 20 and 77 on the UK itunes singles chart. I don't know why itunes don't just collate the sales of two releases, very annoying. Anyway, looking good so far. It's a rolling chart and Noel's release has only been out a couple of days. Needless to say, if you live in the UK, I expect you to buy the single multiple times, otherwise ... I'll kick you in nuts.

Like Beady Eye, I think the majority of NG fans are buying physical copies rather than downloads, so the iTunes top 20 isn't bad going. The EP is near the Amazon top five albums, too. Let's wait and see how the vinyl and CDs sell.

Not sure why people think TDOYAM will chart in the top ten. Didn't The Roller hit around #20 on the itunes chart during the first week of its release? And we saw how high that charted...

But The Roller also had staggered physical and digital release. And they had fewer formats.

But The Roller also had staggered physical and digital release. And they had fewer formats. Yeah, that's the main reason it didn't come off well. They had a staggered release. And when the "official" release came, all they had were digital singles, not cd. The physical release they had was the limited edition vinyl. They were basically trying to chart with just digital downloads, knowing that at good size of their fan base buys physical copies, rather than digital. That release was jacked up in every single way.

We'll know by Wednesday. Beady Eye limited their vinyl releases to only 4,000 copies and they didn't have CD releases of the singles, which is a big difference.

The physical sales and the fact that it's being released in multiple formats is what will drive the single up the charts. If he does as well as I think he'll do in physical sales, then I'll say that he charts between 14-8.
Remember, with Noel it's the physical CD, the Vinyl, and Digital. Each counting as toward sales and position. So he should be in good position to at least chart in the Top 15.

Beady Eye royally messed up by not having a CD single format. Like many others here i had all the Oasis albums but also bought all the Oasis singles for my collection, would have loved to have done the same if they released cd singles.
I love Beady Eye but had the album, dont see the point of buying an mp3 single (Must admit i did to support the band) but would have much preferred an actual physical CD single to have on my shelf.
Glad Noel is doing this so mine should be arriving today. Be interesting to see the figures for the cd singles vs mp3 downloads for Noels song.

Beady Eye didn't limit their single releases to 4000. The numbered ones only had 4000, but the singles got a general release as well. Only BTL & FLW were limited.

"I don't think there are any #1's on this album because the charts are crazy these days...the charts have changed...chart positions don't really mean anything...I don't think any of these are #1 hits, I'd be amazed if they were top 10." - Noel via webchat (26 min in)

#8 in the midweeks is far greater than my expectations considering the lack of airplay the single is getting. I thought it's come in around #20-25 or so.
It'll probably slip, but whoever predicted #14-15 or so were probably right on the money.

Would the NG.com website have turned in their sales for the consideration of the midweek chart or is it just the major realtors that they take into consideration.

If we take Beady Eye - The Roller as an example - 4000 vinyls (the numbered ones) - extra unnumbered vinyls - downloads through iTunes - downloads through website (and other sites) They were around 25 at the highest in the iTunes chart before they started going down again. I don't remember what place they ended up in the official midweek chart.. Anyone? They oficially charted at 31. Noel will probably sell: - around the same amount of vinyls - extra CD format - more downloads through iTunes (as he's been up to 17 already and there's the multiple format thing with or without video) - also the downloads through the site & other sites (amazon, ...) I think he could chart quite high.
