Classic tune, a lil out of the elm, but I still dig
But I don’t recall any notes or history behind it. Was this all Noel etc….. I do know this, Ian Brown mad a classic out of it.

It is a song created by Noel during the Be Here Now era. He lent it to the X-Files movie and it plays during the end credits. I remember a blurb about it being featured in Paolo Hewitt's book "Forever The People: The Further Adventures of Oasis". Noel wrote it completely.

Yea, I believe he wrote it when he was on vacation in Mexico as well. Hence the name, "Teotihuacan."

Gave a good indication about which way Noel was headed in musically back in '98. Sounds more like a Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants track. A great one to!

'Teotihuacan' was probably Noels first clue as to how SOTSOG was gonna sound. He was properly into his electronic stuff at the time, hence the collaborations with Goldie, Chemical Brothers, as well as a 'Led Zeppelin-sounding' remix he did for UNKLE.
Would love to see him use some more electronic sounds in his songs but I guess that late 90s style (back when electronic music was good!) is long dead now...

Noel also played about 50 seconds of this song on keyboards in the 'Lord Don't Slow Me Down' DVD. I believe they were in a music shop in Japan.

Classic tune. The blurb in Hewitt's book about it is quite good. He talks about how for Noel is was a spiritual experience for him to go to these pyramids and that there were some people that were laughing it off when they all traveled there at the time and Noel was quite stern with them about acting serious.

It sounds like WFL with the mystique of Gas Panic. Also, Keep What Ya Got is a great song. Wish Noel kept the music to himself and developed it into his own song, but there we go.

^ WTF? Why does what "keep happening"? I KNOW that's not directed at me, but likely other d-bags looking for handouts?
did it ever occur to you that it is one of the most obscure Noel tunes, and less available elsewhere then the Oasis b-sides?
Seeing I do not own the X-files soundtrack and didn't find it immediately on itunes or amazon, I'd say it's not exactly WTSMG.
but fuck me, I know I should own every second of every recording ever compiled by the group to be a member of this forum.

what's the Ian Brown bit?? 'Keep What You Got' is BASICALLY just Teotihuacan with Ian Brown lyrics/singing on top. Hence the collaboration in the video & song writing credits. Noel does play guitar & do backing vocals on it too though. Listen to the start of both songs, identical.

Fuck off. It's against the proboards terms and conditions. I don't want this place shut down because you want a PM of a track you could easily find yourself. Jeez louise........

Anybody ever wonder why Radiohead's most popular forum on atease.com can share every single album that is leaked on to the internet and not get in trouble? You can literally find anything you want there for the most part. Surly some record company knows this. It is a haven for digital priates, sorta like an internet Mos Eisley.

Possibly because that's a forum in it's own right and it's only them that suffer the consequences whereas this is a proboards forum and proboards themselves are not going to risk their whole site because one of their many forums is involved in piracy Everything people need can be found elsewhere. Don't risk losing this place...I like it here. Cheers.

That's not the point. No one on here is saying you should pay for everything. Hell, even the Mods and Webby aren't setting the policy. They're just the messengers. If you want to complain, send an email to proboards. It's them who dictate we can't share on their forums. By all means, use google to find what you need. It's not really that hard.....
