I doubt Cocaine produced Teotihuacan, way too slow. Cocaine probably produced Gas Panic though. After he stopped taking it.

I do believe this got mislaid on the way to Abbey Road and Ridge Farm Studios That poster brings back certain interesting memories, as I had it pinned up (or rather glued, as it was like 1,50x1 metres and quite heavy) on my bedroom wall from when I was 16 to about 20 years of age. No cocaine involved, but anyway.

Isn't Teotihuacan the only song credited as Noel Gallagher? Everything else has been Oasis, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, The Smokin' Mojo Filters or something like "featuring Noel Gallagher".

If you mean the "Help" album version of Fade Away it's credited Oasis & Friends- Liam is on backing vocals Kate Moss, Meg Matthews, one of her friends (can't think of her name) and Johnny Depp on the record.

Must whack it on again though as I've not heard it for a while, however the Ian Brown one comes on the iPod quite often

Sorry man was replying to that post only.
It's defo the only real original Noel song I can think off credited to him. It really is a fantastic tune, the only tune on the soundtrack that's in the film too (only over credits but ..)
I guess if this Mike Bruce film ever sees light of day potentially get a few more via that?

LOL "way too slow" is not a reason why cocaine could not have fueled this track. Its not methamphetamine. It can also be justified in that it just kept Noel up all night trying to come up with a track for the X-Files. Its an easy dot connector. It's the same drug that kept him up all night talking about pyramids, aliens and who shot JFK. His own words in that Ross interview. His last time doing cocaine was 98, the same year this track was released. Teotihuacan = cocaine

He wasn't Taking Cocaine 24/7 you know, Teotihuacan is most probably a result of his down time with the drug, BHN being the opposite.

Bonus info: Noel already had the first two notes written in early 1997 and used them in the Fade In-Out outro

This is among the greatest pieces of music created by Noel post-BHN. Brilliant.

From the same period "The Knock on Effect" in collaboration with one of the Beasties and UNKLE is another one that tends to be forgotten, but is equally fucking brilliant.
Fun fact: Featuring on flute Charlotte Glasson who Noel also recruited to play the flute part on the Gas Panic, this posted in one of the comments.

Apparently Gas Panic was heavily influenced by Stephen King's 'Salem's Lot'. It was written after Noel watched the 1970's TV adaptation of the book. Some lyrics in particular are in relation to a scene when a character who is a teenage vampire flies up to a window and taps on it, begging to be let in.

^ Where was this mentioned? Out of interest. Salem's Lot supposedly scared a lot of young un's when it was shown back in the 70s, a 50 year old work colleague just bought it to re-watch it and was talking to me about it. The vampire make-up was indebted to 1922's Nosferatu. Tobe Hooper of Texas chainsaw massacre got to direct .
It's also getting re-made right now, so in production or wrapping so will be on TV in a year or so.

It also dawned on me at the time that I'd read about it somewhere as well but couldn't remember where.
