PS, I HATE it when journalists ask Noel/Liam why they don't hang out with eachother all the time. Who the fuck would hang out with their brother who is 4 or more years their junior/elder all the time? It's actually amazing they hung out together (on tour) as much as they did without killing eachother. It's stupid when journalists say "Oh Liam and Noel don't go out in town together, Oasis is tense at the moment", it's like "no it isn't, they are behaving like every other pair of brothers on the planet". I bet Paul and Noel/Paul and Liam don't go out together, but no one cares.

I'm not saying Noel doesn't still love Liam by the way. If Noel slags Liam off it's fine, if someone else does it he won't respond well, trust me. Anyone who has a brother will know what I'm talking about. Brothers are stubborn as fuck towards each other. My brother is 4 years younger than me, and I know for a fact he looks up to me and craves my approval, even if he won't ever say it. I'm the Noel, I love him of course, but I think he's a dick. I call him a dick etc regularly to various people, but if someone else outside my family criticises him I feel a rile. It's just interesting for me to compare me and my brother to Liam and Noel. I believe it's exactly the same for them, or any brothers. I know what you mean and I think anyone who has a brother or a sister can understand this. I have an older sister so I guess I'm the Liam (even though I'm not nothing like Liam but more like Noel) but it's true it doesn't matter what my sister does and how mad she is I always look up to her which really surprises me cause she's not the better example actually.. I can understand Liam somehow because I have had big fights with my sister, we still fight now but not as much as we used to, and it's always the big brother who wins the fight, always! I remember I felt my sister only called me for taking advantadge of me in somehow and it was always me doing what she wanted when I was little... Anyway, the phone messages thing is still very strange and too much I think. |

Are you trying to say adult brothers don't go out together or don't meet? You're wrong. It's maybe your case but not everyone's. Me and my sister go out together a lot. It's amazing how many people think Liam and Noel's relationship is normal...  It's maybe normal for teenagers but not for two adults... |

And I also have 2 older sisters as well as a younger brother, so I can appreciate both sides. I (Noel) think my brother is a clueless little twat who is too big for his boots and knows nothing about life. He (Liam) looks up to me and 'craves' (for want of a better word) my approval because he looks up to me. Me (as Liam this time) looks up to my older sisters, I love them and always feel bad if I do them wrong. For example just listen to Liam saying that Noel is "breaking his heart". I can understand Liam. I think he really is gutted about what happened (not the split, the fact that Noel seems to hate him), and really wants to make it up but obviously he is too stubborn. And so is Noel. Everyone is stubborn with their siblings. |

I definitely believe Liam calling up Noel. There's been instances of it before. Remember in the Unlock The Box DVD, Noel was talking about choosing the tracklisting (with Liam sitting right next to him) and he said, "I didn't get any of the usual phone calls at 5 in the morning saying, (imitating Liam) 'Noel, where's 'Little James' man?' so I assumed everybody was alright with it."
Liam didn't dispute it. In fact, he laughed.

There was also another story Noel told about his phone ringing at 5 or 6 in the morning and him being nervous because as he said, "No good news ever comes that early." Well he picks up the phone frantically and it's Liam, "Hey Noel. Can you believe what happened on Eastenders last night?"
And Noel was like, "Are you fucking kidding me?" Hilarious (and a bit insane).

I personally think the idea of Liam calling up Noel at random times in the middle of the night one of the most charming things I've heard in a while.  Not if they were of an abusive nature of course...which they may have been if Noel changed his number. But honestly...changing your number so your brother can't have it when you work with him? What was on those messages. Liam and Noel both seem like fun in interviews...but what the hell were they saying to eachother privately? We'll never know, I know, because Noel is too private and Liam never really says anything of substance to begin with. But you can't help but wonder. |

ps : i'm new in this forum but i follow Oasis from the 90's, they are my obsession (lol!) and obviously my favourite band....i've met Liam several times, and Noel too....Liam is always cute and kind with me and the other fans...! ...i'm not english so if you find some error i think it's normal xD

Liam and Noel both seem like fun in interviews...but what the hell were they saying to eachother privately? Wouldn't surprise me if Liam was coming up with the most drink fuelled hateful shit he could think of along the lines of 'Anais is another man's child' which came close to ending the band in 2000 when Noel beat the shit out of him (allegedly). Noel takes great pleasure in winding people up in general and winding Liam up in particular, it's not surprising that it can get volatile when they all get pissed. |
