I don't think it's smart to use the Falling Down remix as a point of reference for Noel's AA collaboration. In the end with FD, you had some guys take a 4 minute song, and make it into a 22 minute song. They were given an already completed song, and told to make it something else. And I think that's the main reason it didn't come off well. In this situation ,they're doing these tracks from scratch. It won't be them trying to stretch a track. And I don't think that Noel will release anything that he doesn't like. For me, the AA FD remix is exactly what it is. An experimental b-side. I don't think it's smart to use that as a point of reference for what Noel's album will sound like with AA. This a million times over.

I'm not excited by that backward-looking psychedelica. It's one thing to be experimental, like Radiohead, where the themes are rooted in modernity, but AA's work is like the exact opposite of that. I'm still interested to hear the results.

It's been awhile. Hope all is well. Now back to business: I'm not incredibly excited about the AA stuff. I like structured songs with the odd quirk. But AA are out there. Really, really out there.

And to respond to an earlier post: I also found it interesting that Noel said, "I started slanging off", which is why I mentioned it. I believe (and I don't know the Gallaghers personally but from what I tell) that Noel has buried resentment for Liam. And when the alcohol flows... En vino veritas. All that stuff comes out. Same goes for Liam. Those late night phone calls? That's just strange.

Another interesting thing...TDOYAM is Noel's favorite song off the album. From MOJO's descriptions, IIHAG and What a Life! weren't anything mindblowing...just an Oasis-lite song and disco, respectively. Good thing favorite doesn't mean best. SMS is suppose to be Noel's favorite song from WTSMG, but it's definitely not the best. For that fact, that was also the lead single for WTSMG. I can't wait to hear What A Life. Just hear a Noel disco song. And I'm pretty sure that IIHAG, is one of the best 4 songs on the album.

I'm really surprised that the AA guy gave orders to Noel, thought it would be the other way around. i think the AA guys have no real grasp of reality, which isn't always a bad thing. they sound interesting........well at least entertaining. good things. Its really annoying you keep saying, "good things".

Noel's playing a Fender in one pic. Rare that he goes to Fender. Maybe because he's left the heavy Oasis sound we'll hear the lighter sound of Fender, rather than a Gibson. I hope not, I prefer the overall tones of Gibson guitars but anyway, Hollow body Gibsons will still be fine. Can see him playing a lot of acoustic though.

I'm pretty sure Liam's been leaving the band plenty of times at 6am in the morning during some boozed up argument. It's being mentioned in the interviews from 90s already, how he's "leaving the band because it's raining today".
The way Noel puts it here makes it sound like this was a bit more convincing threat, but looking how well into it Liam was in some interviews+gigs during the tour don't think it was anything that he had in mind during last months of Oasis.

I love Noel Gallagher's quote about Be Here Now and why he doesn't write about his life anymore. He just inadvertently explained why modern hip-hop is shit.

Me on the other hand, since i'm a fan of The AAs stuff, will bask in the glory of a great collaboration You're not alone on that Me too. They were my #1 pick for people I wanted Noel to collaborate with before we had even an inkling they were going to be involved. Also...Noel is involved with the AA album. So of course it will be different than the remix. The AA remix I get the impression that he listened to their album...asked them to do it...sent them the track and then just went with whatever they sent back because he respects them. It has some interesting bits and some less to my taste. But overall they are interesting. I remember him talking about, I think it was The Chemical Brothers. (Maybe it was the Zane Lowe DOYS interview?) He was asked whether he gave them notes or anything. He said he respected them as artists and bascially they were masters of their own domain and it would have been foolish to tell them what to do with their remix. I think he had the same attitude of "hands off" too all the remixers. But he won't be like that for a whole album IMO. These won't be remixes...they'll be "the version" period. It'll be something in the middle between the OTT psychedilia of AA and the basic retrostyle rock of Noel.

IDK, that's how I think it'll be... Something like that. 'Cause if you play it with those same chords, it fits perfectly.

It'll do a couple of verses then a chorus and then do a couple more verses (which we've heard) and a couple goes of the chorus and maybe he's added a middle 8 or something. I reckon it'll be another short-ish tune. Like TDOYAM.

I could be wrong, but I think we caught the last half of the song, and missed some extra verses and a chorus. But I don't think he's drastically changed the structuring. If he did, then I suspect that it's around the "outro" part. Though I would find it amazing if he got out of that into another verse or chorus.

I don't believe in much of what Noel says about Liam and the split, in this interview. Especially not the story about Liam calling him in the middle of the night and leaving creepy messages etc. And that Liam said that after the tour he gonna quit the band? Sorry, but I'm not buying what he says... I can see Liam calling him in the middle of the night I don't think Liam wanted to quit either. Maybe he really said it but only to say something...

But I could see it being a decent length though, at least a bit longer than TDOYAM.

If the voice messages thing is true Liam defenitely has a mental problem... LOL! That's mental... He even changed phone number and then started at Sara's mobile... Who do things like that?? I don't know whether it's funny or scary..

I don't know whether it's funny or scary.. Liam loves Noel. If he's gonna be ignoring his calls he's gonna get weird. It's Liam's nature. Noel is a bit flippant towards Liam in interviews, not proper hate but he's like "well he's an idiot". Can tell Liam still absolutely adores Noel though. No matter what happens Liam will always look up to Noel, it's human nature.

I'm not saying Noel doesn't still love Liam by the way. If Noel slags Liam off it's fine, if someone else does it he won't respond well, trust me. Anyone who has a brother will know what I'm talking about. Brothers are stubborn as fuck towards each other.
My brother is 4 years younger than me, and I know for a fact he looks up to me and craves my approval, even if he won't ever say it. I'm the Noel, I love him of course, but I think he's a dick. I call him a dick etc regularly to various people, but if someone else outside my family criticises him I feel a rile. It's just interesting for me to compare me and my brother to Liam and Noel. I believe it's exactly the same for them, or any brothers.

I find it funny that Noel took something so seriously that Liam said at 6 AM, while drunk, and AFTER Noel had probably been having a go at him.
I've never met Liam in my life, but even I wouldn't take what he said seriously.
I wonder if Noel really thought Liam was gonna fight George Harrison on top of Primrose Hill?
