the negativas have no real criticisms other than the fact it doesn't live up to their delusionally 'stuck in 2005' expectations. personally, i would've like to've had a little cowbell but other than that i'm ok with it. good things. fuck yeah!!!!!!!

AMEN! IMO, this is a straight-up 5/10. Been a long time fan but, I do have my own mind. There are waaaay too many fanboys in here either that or secret Sourmash employees. Decent song but, cooler video. Give it two months or less and it'll be considered a forgettable tune. I can only hope the rest of the album makes up for this one. This is becoming one of the more annoying arguments. If you don't like it, then fine. It's your own taste, and I respect that. But not everyone who likes this track, is automitcally a Noel Fanboy. It's as bad as when Beady Eye came out with their stuff, and people said "only Liam fanboys could like this". Please respect that others may have different musical taste than you. I think this song is in the vein of TIOBI. But I think anyone who says that this is exactly like or almost no different than TIOBI, has never really listened to the TIOBI (not meaning to take a shot at you Jilliam). They share some characteristics. In that there are the falsettos, and the acoustic guitar intro. But last time I checked, TIOBI didn't have this chorus, nor a horn section that sounded like it came out of New Orleans Jazz, along with the Magical Mystery Tour type song. It has some Noel calling cards, but he's definitely drawing from a different well of influence. It's a lot less Beatles/Kinks than TIOBI, and more Americana. Call it what you will, add this or that, layer it with these and a tiny splash of that and you still get TIOBI! I notice that ppl like to add these now considered "cool" musical influences as references to try and back up what you're saying but, IMO and mine only, this song is pretty much a DUD. but, according to others its not. so we can agree to disagree. Im not here to try and change anyones opinion on the tune, just here to state my first and what seems lasting impression on this track.

Jilliam's the biggest fanboy, or girl, here. she parades around like i don't even know what. and, aren't you the one that was willing to pay $500 to see BDI? i dunno if that's fan-esque or just stupid.

All of this BDI vs. Noel stuff is complete bullocks!! How can anyone compare an entire album to one track? It's absurd. Bloody hell.
It appears that Noel is taking this album seriously, and that bodes well for the other tracks on the album and future singles. This tune has been stuck in my head all day and I only listened to it twice this morning. Brilliantly put together!
Cheers for Noel!

Jilliam just pissed me off with comments earlier today. she waltzes in going on about something like how she doesn't like TDOYAM and saying those that do are fanboys. i fucking hate everyone. i pick no sides, and like songs that i like. not to mention Jilliam's the same person who for lack of a better word, stalks what would be the now ex-members of Oasis. it's ridiculous, she's probably combing her Noel and Liam puppets she made out of their hair right now. we're taking back over the world, and you can't stop us. fuckers!!!!!!!!!!!!!

after about 5 listens, it sounds more and more like a slightly different version of TIOBI. Nothing special at all - not single worthy.

I like it more as I listen to it. I've been singing it all day. Love the chorus. Don't care if it's a re-has of TIOBI (which it's really not), that song is great anyway.
Can't wait to hear more.

That chorus should be bottled, it's truly wonderful. Makes me smile like a 12 year old girl. And the horns too! If this solo album is as good as this single, i'll be glad Oasis broke up.

Really good song that makes good use of Noel's gorgeous falsetto. Only blight on the song is the somewhat unfocused saxophone (or trumpet or whatever the heck it is). Somewhat predictable but addictive and insteresting enough to be pleasing

Noel has a "gorgeous falsetto"?? really?? I must have missed that all the way since 94.
I'll tell you how shite the song is - this site is pretty universally accepted as pro Noel and Mheh or worse towards Liam, you only need to flick through the threads about the Paris brawl to see that while no-one on this forum knows what happened 95% believe Noel.
Taking that into consideration the amount of Noel fans on here who are disappointed or left underwhelmed by the single says everything because even if it was a 7/10 they would be loving it. It is a boring, lazy, MOR song that sounds exactly like everything he's done before - which considering he has acknowledged that "the kids had stopped listening" to Oasis records in his recent interviews tells you he knows the fans were bored of the stuff he was releasing and authorising to go onto the albums yet he continues to release the same old Noel by numbers anyway.
Say what you like about DGSS and there are some average songs on there but WOMR and IABWAB plus Millionaire, Wigwam, BTL and 4LW show so much more variety and energy that Noel has displayed since MG.
He has said he didn't want Oasis to split, he wanted 3 years off, do his little solo stuff then go back to his cash cow. I've bought every release by Oasis, been to every tour but its obvious to anyone willing to look at the facts that Noel has got lazy in his songwriting, lazy in his selection of songs for Oasis albums and generally can't be bothered anymore. His creative drive and fire went out a long long time ago.

....generally can't be bothered anymore. His creative drive and fire went out a long long time ago. The fact that he has a minimum of 30 tracks coming out in the next 12 months and actually almost had a 3rd album ready to go suggests otherwise.

I'm a BDI fan and the Roller and 4LW are better singles than TDOYAM but WOMR and IABWAB? Reaaallllllyyyy? Sorry but fuck off... Everyone has the right to an opinion but that's some crazy shit you've got going on there... plus more energy than anything since Morning Glory? There isn't a laughing smiley in the world that could convey my amusement at that idiocy.
If anything puts Millionaire (and it was my favourite song off DGSS) in the light it deserves then TDOYAM does.

I find TDOYAM to be better than anything Beady Eye put out thus far. Noel does a great job in utilizing different intstruments ie the brass sections, the choir and orchestra we heard in Everybodys on the Run. I feel like this album is gonna be his "kitchen sink" album he always wanted to do with Oasis, with the orchestras, choirs and big brass sections. This single is good news for us, Noel is doing just fine without Oasis, which I think everyone knew he would be, and Im happy to hear this new album of his. TDOYAM is a grower for sure, and sounds timeless. Noel is on top form, Vocals are fantastic. The chief is back fellas this right here... that's all

Im liking it after two listens (thanks to Jim for the link)
Not too sure about the sax in the middle, but its a good tune overall imo, bodes well for the album, and i don't quite get the 'rehash of TIOBI', its totally different IMHO...

"Cause I could spend my WHOLE LIFE running, from people who would be the death of you and me.."
Great hook but then, that's what Noel does.
