Genuinely never understood Kasabian at all. Even from the time Noel was singing their praises, it just made no sense to me at all. Tried and failed a number of times, they just sounded uninspired / dull to me. I thought maybe seeing them live at Heaton Park in '09 might have changed my opinion, sadly not however.
But hey, we all can't have the same tastes, so kudos to anyone who's enjoyed them and their music over the years. This does sound like bad news for the band and their fans.

Tom is not well for years, just look at some of his interviews. I thought that I was anxious as fuck but then I see some his interviews and realise that he is 10 times worse. Anxiety plus god knows what else. He needed help years ago, I knew that something like this would happen sooner or later. I hope that woman is ok.

Very lucky to avoid prison. He loses the ability to make (appalling) music and no doubt his marriage and some of his friends but will retain a millionaire lifestyle. I hope that video haunts him tbh

Not that I don’t believe in rehabilitation and redemption but having video of him hitting his Mrs and dragging her around by her ankles is worthy of a custodial sentence. |

So, the girlfriend decided not to give a statement against him, as most do, which is her prerogative, but so harrowing for the child who was not only scared enough to dial 999, but in the aftermath when both these adults denied it rather than standing up and backing the child’s truths; the child who was in their care while they were both heavily intoxicated. Hopefully looking this kid in the eye again will be impossible for him. He had the luxury of just a CCTV version of events and couldn’t even face watching it, the child has the real thing to live with. |

I was very judgemental towards the statement, but they clearly released it knowing all of this. They probably had to release it before the news broke so it didn't look like a reaction.
What an awful thing to do and how the FUCK is he not serving jail time? I have a family member who was abusive towards his partner and I can't look him in the eye. Awful, scumbag. Proper KUNT behaviour.

The latest statement from Kasabian just makes it even messier.
He was a dick for doing what he did - problems or not, it's been well known for a while he has issues, but that's no excuse for what he did.
Just think the band/management could definitely have handled it better. No need to say anything today trying to come out as squeaky clean - nobody was even suggesting the band had done anything wrong.

Amazing that nobody knew about the domestic violence until today. Usually when a celebrity is involved with a crime it leaks ASAP. This attack happened on April 9. Glad it is out there though.

I think as a community, there needs to be an awakening towards how often this shit happens. I am by no means suggesting that anyone on this forum or who has commented on this thread is unaware or anything like that, so please do not take offence.
However, some of the comments on Kasabian's tweets have been sickening. Accusing the lady in question of faking it, suggesting that he was probably provoked etc.
Similar thing when Liam was seen doing it. Yes, Debbie came out and said it was nothing... but you don't fucking strangle women. You just don't.
And a lot of people excuse it because they like the songs these people sing. Fuck that and fuck them.

As you said he’s an absolute twat for doing what he did, there is definitely no excuse for that but you’re literally making things worse for him by turning your back on him and heaping all the blame on him and essentially just directing people to send him abuse, when it’s someone who’s clearly dealing with serious mental health issues I think that’s not a great thing to do. Horrified that he’s not been given any jail time, apparently his fiancée isn’t the one pressing charges and didn’t want to prosecute him because she wants to get back together so that probably helped his cause I guess. I also think this is worth a mention, this lady didn’t want to prosecute him - why mention her name in every article when she clearly didn’t want this media attention? Then idiots on social media will undoubtedly attack her despite being the victim. It’s not like it’s a case where she is a big name so people know her, just saying her name literally adds nothing to the story and hurts her in a way she clearly doesn’t want. |
