I think Kasabian are one of the most interesting acts in the world today. The fact they can go from songs like Goodbye Kiss to Switchblade Smiles shows they have some serious balls. I love the psychedilc side to their music which is something I feel Oasis had a go at but it always felt forced whereas Kasabian are effortless. Really? I think you're right but I don't think Oasis were forced with psychedelia. Sure I think the odd tune like Who Feels Love is a bit forced but Definitely Maybe has it's own touches of psychedelia in it. All that feedback in the wall of sound, reverb and distorted sounds, like the end of Rock N Roll Star, Columbia, the very end of Up In The Sky - the pure ignorant and stupid might claim they are just Beatles rip offs, but in terms of sound quality of that album and follow ups, it's closer in vein to the shoegazing bands like Ride and My Bloody Valentine.

Oasis are better than The Beatles anyway, so only the foolish would say that.... But I wouldn't say that's so much psychedelic... I'd say it's just small pinches of psychedelia..... The likes of Kasabian, Primal Scream, The Doors, etc. have a good chunk of psychedelia.....

Oasis better than the Beatles? Oh, my... Why not? I like them better, so obviously they're better. Fuck you for discounting my tastes, man!

They do fall into the stereotypical psychedelia mix sometimes, but I think Kasabian get away with it (at least in my books) because they have a lot of passion behind it, so it's forgivable. Most of the tunes on Velociraptor make me think of Morricone's western scores, in a very good way.

Haven't (almost) listened to anything else since I got the album last week.
Four songs are EXTREMELY good, Oasis class: LRJLWUT, DAF, GK, R-W
NN, MOSP, ATB(SFTS) are very good.
LFV (a bit boring sometimes) and V! (a bit silly chorus and a Liam-penned feeling, if you know what I mean) are good.
IHV is OK. A grower, cos I didn't like it all at first.
A fantastic album. Perhaps the best of the year, along with DGSS and just before The View's Bread and Circuses, in my book.
But now I have to give it a break for a couple of days, I think so I don't get tired of it.

Oasis better than the Beatles? Oh, my... hmm, can't agree with that tom :/ Just saying, that's because I don't like The Beatles. I respect them and their influence on the industry, but I am not a fan of their music. I think they're overrated... And I don't get how people can say that SPLHCB is the best album ever.... I've tried to listen to it at least 5 times... But it just bores me and I turn it off.... And all of this is even weirder, seeing as I'm half Scouse! xD

Oasis better than the Beatles? Oh, my... The Beatles are and were brilliant, but I didn't live through the times. With Oasis, I was there for it all!!!!!(It was my 21st birthday the day Wonderwall single was released.) So I can relate to it all a lot more than I can to The Beatles, therefore, in my humble opinion Oasis are better than The Beatles. If you ask my Mum who she prefers, she would say The Beatles, because she grew up with them, buying a listening to their records. I'm very proud to say that I've grown up with Oasis. ;D

Hi Folks. Don't forget to join up the new Kasabian forum. A great bootleg section is being added to weekly. Don't forget to visit the other parts of the forum too and add some discussion, once you have signed up kasabianfan.proboards.com/index.cgi

If you do respect them as you say you wouldn't say they're overrated. They changed everything. I mean, in my opinion, I think their music isn't as good as everyone says it is (I have the same issue with The Arctic Monkeys), but I respect the impact they have had on the industry, as you said, they changed everything... However, I can't say I'm blown away with their music.
