Estimated time left: 5 minutes 54 seconds Mine downloaded the whole thing in 4 mins xD You won't be let down though. The clips didn't do it justice... Although Serge was talking out his arse a bit saying "it's heavy as fuck"...

Really, really like the album after one listen! I Hear Voices felt like the worst one. And like Tom Wells said. It's not heavy as fuck. It's more like Thick As Thieves-ish. And I like that!

It's not their best work, but it does a better job than most bands out there

I'll update this with my thoughts: 1. Lets Roll Just Like We Used To: Very like The Last Shadow Puppets. Which is an extremely good thing in my eyes. Really liking it. 2. Days Are Forgotten: We have had this for a while and it has certainly grown on me since the time I first heard it. Great choice as first single imo. 3. Goodbye Kiss: I can see what Serge meant when he said they have never done a track like this before. This is fantastic! Great melody and lyrics. Parts reminded me of The La's. 4. La Fee Verte: Beautiful start when the acoustic guitar kicks in. Very 60s sounding. Lyrics are very John Lennon like. Fantastic instrumentation and nice ending. 4 tracks in and delighted with everything so far! Anyone that calls this band lad/pub rock after this is very obviously an idiot 5. Velociraptor!: Still not sure about this one. It will be fantastic live though. Extremely catchy and great beat to it. 6. Acid Turkish Bath: Now this is unbelievable. Right up my alley. If George Harrison was around in this era he would be making this music. Great mix of sounds and its impossible to know where it's going next. 7. I Hear Voices: I hear a bit of Gorillaz in this. It's a good track but not up there with the best I've heard so far. Doesn't really go anywhere. Won't be skipping it anytime soon though! 8. Re-wired: Apparently the next single and I can see why. Fantastic chorus. Another top notch track. Great disco beat ending with the bass. 9. Man Of Simple Pleasures: Starting reminded me of a Pink Floys/Gorillaz fuse. Fantastic melody in this one once again. 9 tracks down and this is shaping up to be a rival to WRPLA for me. 10. Switchblade Smiles: We've had this for a good while and I have liked it a lot since the start. Can't wait to hear it live in November. 11. Neon Noon: I can see the Wish You Were Here influence Serge talked about. Unexpected electro turn after the first bit turns it into an almost Sigur Ros sounding track. And then another twist turns it into something else again. Really really beautiful ending to the album. Things I noticed: >Serge sings the 3 longest tracks on the album. >A lot more melodic than Kasabian have ever been. >Serge has really improved as a songwriter. Best lyrics from him so far. >I like this after 1 play through more than I liked WRPLA after 1 play.

For me, best tracks:
Days Are Forgotten Goodbye Kiss I Hear Voices (Favourite brand new song, except Re-Wired) Re-Wired Switchblade Smiles
Velociraptor is a bit of a let down... I think there's no much voice editing... Would have been better if they did it all as a one-take almost live thing... So it was more like the live version... It's like a mix of Punk (Gorillaz), Fast Fuse and Apnoea

I left Neon Noon play to the end on my iTunes and another track started straight after and I was like HIDDEN TRACK!!!, but then I realised that it was the start of Laura Marling - Ghost

But they don't torture people at Guantanamo bay? shh
Anyway, im gonna hold off until the release date, i love Kasabian but i think Days are Forgotten is shite, the chorus is depressing, however i do like Switchblade Smiles alot - the riff in that is one of the best i have heard for a while.
Looking forward to it!!

Whilst i will always prefer Oasis / Noely G to Kasabian they are my second favourite band around at the moment, followed closely by the Vaccines, which means i can just about resist the leak right now - which in turn will make the process of going to HMV to buy Velociraptor much more enjoyable.
Liking the descriptions of the songs, very interesting

Three songs in and I love it so far. I feel so bad for doubting the boys, they've always delivered enjoyable albums (even if Empire hasn't aged very well). I used to listen to West Ryder going to school every day two years ago and I haven't really listened to Kasabian since. Almost brought a tear to my eyes to hear them back in fantastic form; I really miss those days of sitting in traffic whilst blasting the chorus of Fire. I know a lot of people, including myself, give them shit, but I've been following them since their debut and it's nice to see them still putting out great music and not falling to the wayside like their peers have.
But man, Switchblade Smiles is still a stinker.

Acid Turkish Bath is outstanding.
What comes immediately after is shite though. Like a really bad "Seek and Destroy" from Empire.
This album is going to be another grower I think

Who knows the lyrics of Kasabian's "Pistols At Dawn" I don't find them and I understand the lyrics badly...
