Ex-Oasis Noel Gallagher 'banging out tunes' in Los Angeles studioNoel Gallagher is working on new material in Los Angeles, according to You Me At Six singer Josh Franceschi. Last night (March 23) Franceschi wrote on Twitter/com/joshmeatsix that the ex-Oasis man was working in the same studio as his band. "Can hear Noel from Oasis blasting his new tunes from the studio next door," he wrote. "Absolutely mental." www.nme.com/news/oasis/55665

Two journalists from Sweden (Filip and Fredrik) have a podcast, and one of them lives in L.A at the moment. And in todays podcast Filip said that he and some friends ran into Noel in a pub in L.A. They had a chat with him, and he told them that he's mixing his album! Filip showed Noel the clip with Vladimir Putin singing "Blueberry Hill" on Youtube. Noel laughed loud! Haha.
So this is really official now! Can't wait to here Noel's stuff.

"Can hear Noel from Oasis blasting his new tunes from the studio next door," he wrote. "Absolutely mental." Do you know what my favorite part of this news is?? He used the word 'blasting'. One typically does not blast dreary acoustic tunes. I am INCREDIBLY excited for this.

ahahaha, this is brilliant. I'm pretty excited.
I would agree: the words "blast" and "mental" are not typically used for dreary acoustic stuff. I still think that we will get a really good mix of tunes.

I literally squealed! Luckily there was no one around to witness that embarrassing moment. I did. And people were around. I'm just too excited. This forum really needed this. Was starting to get really slow around here. I haven't been this excited since the BDI news started to break. The only exception is that I expect Noel to give a really really really good album, so my excitement level is just a bit higher, than with BDI.

That means it's as good as finished? Indeed, I also noticed the words "Blasted" and "Mental". You can't do that with only songs like "STC". However I must say that songs like "POTQ" can also be "mental" live. But that doesn't have to be a bad thing!! How brilliant would this be: when the dust is settled around BDI, we'll get a new album from Noel. And when the dust is settled around Noel, we'll get a new BDI album

I agree with the "blast" comment he made correlating to the possible sound from Noel but if the guy is English who said "mental" then i think he sort of meant "i cant believe im in a studio next to Noel Gallagher" but either way its great fucking news!!

i literally can not wait for this. I'm getting giddy even thinking about it. BE's album was a nice surprised but I think Noel has it in him to actually make a another classic and it could be a bit more interesting than BE's effort. Regardless this is the best news i've heard all week. More songs from the best songwriter of his generation.

Yeah i live in England and know of "You me at 6" since radio1 rapes their tunes all day long and they are fucking dreadful along with - "kids in glass houses" and "all time low"
they all sound the same and are just complete shite, but props to the guy for tweeting that info - definitely his best output to date.

I hope you're right about the blasting interpretation.....Not to be a killjoy, but he could have simply meant that the volume was loud enough for him to hear (and nothing more).
