Figured it was something like that. Not familiar with his blog or anything though so I wasn't sure.

Am I the only person on here that sees "XTRMNTRSCREAM" and skips right down to the next post?
I got excited by this sourmash guy's original tweet but i'm a little skeptical now. Whether AA are involved or not i'm sure Noel's got some good stuff in store for us.

My ears have been burning, so though I would sign up and say hello! I'm sourmashmusic and I seem to be the the topic of conversation at the moment! So where to start! Info is Noel is in LA, but you all knew that anyway! Reason why he is there!! Now that is another interesting story. He is definitely working with Amorphous Androgynous, has been since last year. The album was finished then too, but the interesting part is why he is still doing it! His "people" ie Ignition/Marcus Russell have not liked any of the material he has done with AA. They have convinced him to do rein it in and release something more commercial! Hence why he is in LA to theoretically get away from his management. He is in the studio with them and Sardy and basically remixing and doing overdubs for it. The album was complete a while ago, so much so I know for a fact there are 2 albums worth of material now!!! (but again thats old news!) I was also the guy that broke the news about him working with The Sand Band from Liverpool! Which is also true and they will eventually become his touring band! (you will just have to watch this space on that one) I can't obviously convince all of you, but my sources are good and to clear it up, I am not affiliated with Noel and his management, well not really! Anyway, that's all you are getting from me! Look forward to the backlash!

That's very exciting! Interesting how Noel is being tugged in a different direction by his management...I guess this shows that no matter how many records you sell you still don't have complete artistic freedom.
To clarify, right now in LA is he still working with the AA sessions or is he recording new ones?

I think he should listen to his management a bit...but correct me if I am wrong...isn't it their place more business and PR related than creative? Why are they getting a say on this @ all. God, I hope that Noel isn't just trying to salvage something not worth salvaging. And I hope this whole session doesn't have to be scrapped like the DIV ones were. Because then we have to wait ages for Noel to take a step back and restart! Had Noel been dissatisfied with the finished project? Do you know?

to gdforever - not dissatisfied no, reason why he has held it back! He likes what he is doing with AA, but his management/A&R people not so much. Alan McGee has heard this album! He has been quoted as saying it is the most anthemic material he has heard from Noel since WTSMG! This is the album is management want him to release, but Noel has different ideas!

He has been quoted as saying it is the most anthemic material he has heard from Noel since WTSMG! This is the album is management want him to release, but Noel has different ideas! So is he going to be releasing his version...or is he actually going to take the managements notes and not follow his vision? Because in your post on one hand you said his management had convinced him to rein it in...but then you said he had gone to LA to get away from them. I guess I am a bit confused about what this means for the music. Are we going to get the album Noel wants us to or is he going to bow to pressure and give us something watered down? I just never imagine Noel being one to take artistic notes or change his music based off the opinions of his management firm!

I just find it comical that AA and Dave Sardy are potentially working on the same project...they're basically on as much opposite ends of the producing spectrum as you can get.

it has been suggested to him that he rethinks what he finally releases! His management, who also act as his A&R, hence why they have a lot of input, want him to make something more commercial!
Now Noel has gone to LA to rework the sessions with AA! What the outcome will be, only Noel can answer that! I do know the original sessions with AA were really not sounding very good! So who knows what final version we will get to hear! I know he is determined to make the AA collaboration work, mainly because he thinks he can and he loves what those guys do!

I'm getting an ever increasing sense that while Noel's album will be mature, it's going to be way out there and only appeal a very minority of fans on this forum (which means a commercial flop - if Noel can't reel in the die hard Oasis fans, he has no hope, in all honesty). I'm not saying his album will be bad....I'm sure he'll succeed in terms of what he was trying to achieve, but from the aforementioned description, it doesn't seem like it will appeal to most of us.
I hope I'm wrong, but I fear the worst. Beware of darkness, indeed.
