^I know what you meant, mate. We weren't expecting him to sound like Maine Road, we just wanted him to sound like he did in the radio sessions and that's not unreasonable since it was just a couple weeks ago.
Anyway, if indeed this was taped prior to the radio sessions then there is still hope.

He was alright, but not amazing or anything. Still, BTL sounded good!

I don't wanna be moaning here but his vocals on the radio session were better than anything he's done live in the last decade. And that's not an exaggeration. I was seriously blown away by them especially the KEXP session.
I just want a bit of consistency. I can't wait to see them in April but "Kill For A Dream" is a very naked song so to speak and if he sings it like that in a small theater like the Olimpia he'll be found out. Tonight, to me he sounded as if he had that awful tone that existed in the DOYS tour. It's hard to explain it but it's almost like his voice is 'locked' or something.

I don't think you're gonna get consistency, not ever from Liam. They'll be good nights and bad nights. He's 38? Been boozing, smoking and touring for nearly 20 years. The damage has been done. He'll always sound pretty good on record and probably could still do something to improve his live stuff. But if we get a few of the radio session standard nights i'll be happy enough.

Is there any way for me to acquire this? Yes, by showing patience. This aired very late here in the UK and with the time it takes to process and then upload it, most people can't be bothered putting that work in before they go to bed. Having said that, I've already put the audio in Sound and Vision > Beady Eye Tour, and a torrent of the video is in Sound and Vision > The Tube. A bit of looking around would be nice before the demands flood in.

The answer regarding Liam's voice is quite simple actually. On the radio sessions, Liam was singing in an isolated "room", using headphones. His voice sounded as good as the album versions because that is exaclty how they record in the studio. At Abbey Road they played like an actual gig, and that is how Liam is gonna sound on the tour. It's like he feels the need to shout when he listens all the struments up there with him. That's what he meant in an interview when he said he was gonna add some extra power at the live gigs. He still sounded really good, holding the notes and singing very well overall. Bring The Light was EPIC!

I just listened to BTL, and as a whole, i thought it sounded way better than the studio version. Lots more energy and lots more Andy n Gem. It doesn't sound so much like a piano take on TMOS, but as someone said, more like the beatles.
Was caught off guard a bit by the vocals. At times, a little awkward, but generally ok. As it was recorded much earlier and we've heard better since, I'm not worrying. The big picture: as long as he's not sounding like 2006-07, then we're ok!

^^ Yeah I agree. His voice isn't as good as the radio sessions, but he still sounds miles better than he has recently. If he sounds like this the entire tour I'll be more than happy.

I cant be arsed reading the thread but i am assuming im not the first tonotice the final chorus of the roller was taken from an earkier chorus as the lip synch was out and he sang the different melody? Sorry for the typos on me phone

Sorry for the typos on me phone no, it wasn't. he just sung it the same way as the previous choruses, instead of the slightly different melody. everything was synched fine.

Gonna have to agree to disgree. He steps away from the mic and unless he has insanely good mic technique/perception (which he proves over he doesn't) they dropped an earlier vocal in IMO as the volume doesnt dip as he moves away at all.

Totally agree with you. Spot on. Still sounded great, like you say not as good as radio 1 but still far better than some old 'Kermit' voices i've heard. When he really gets into it (plus a few beers) he starts to shout more but still cant wait for the gigs

I don't know what you guys were talking about when you said this sounded bad I thought it was very good! It was more raw then the radio sessions, but what did you expect? If this is how the gigs will sound than I think we can be more than happy! I LOVED the backing vocals in BTL (epic!) and KFAD. Also Liam sounded pretty good on KFAD imo This is what backing vocals should sound like! They brought Liam's voice to a higher level! Thanks MrMonobrow for putting this on YouTube and thanks to the uploader of the dvd! I can not wait to see the whole thing!
