Kind of took me by surprise on my first listen, but I'm very excited for the new tune now! They haven't made a bad album yet.

Bullshit! First Impressions was at the very least good. You can't ignore tunes like You Only Live Once, Juicebox, Heart In A Cage... Basically the entire first half of the album. And the second half isn't perfect but it's far from shit.

This new tune makes me super excited for the new album. Their first album is a bonafide classic. Their second is a great album. First Impressions of the Earth is average maybe good on a good day. Bits of the album is superb (You Only Live Once, Juicebox, Razorblade, Heart In A Cage, Ize of the World) but the rest for me is decent to mediocre, but this new tune as I said before makes me super excited for the new albums, but I'm not gonna lie if this album isn't at least "Great" i'm gonna be disappointed in the strokes because waiting 3 years didn't really pay off for their third album and if five doesn't pay off for this new record my faith in them may be shaken a little bit, but as always a band can recover. end rant.

I like First Impressions Of Earth. It's got some of their best songs (they've all been named in this thread) but it obviously isn't on the level of Is This It or even Room On Fire. I don't know what to expect from the fourth album, especially considering Julian's admitted they reformed for the money. But...I don't know, it could be great, couldn't it?

For those who don't know, four of the Strokes wrote the music to the album, recorded it, then sent it to Julian who made little changes and added his vocals.

Fucking fantastic, so far they've beaten the odds against them and they're back FUCKING FIGHTING! BRILLIANT! There's no way they could write a tune like this if they were only in it for the money. This is too brilliant. And, as far as I know, they worked together as full band once they ditched the stuff they did with Joe Chicarelli and went to Albert's studio to do it themselves.

It's already grown on me, it's brilliant! Been listening to them all day, I forgot how I loved this band, I may even go to Benicassim to see them. Now I'm really hyped for this record, I hope they let us listen to other songs soon
