it's absolutely better than the hindu times. worst opener of any oasis albums. *cough* Hello *cough* I'd also put it above THT, as well as TUTS, FITB, and BIU - and I ADORE all of those songs

the more and more i watch the video i love it. Wasnt so sure the first time. Jeff looks brilliant in it. I love the acid parts at the start and through out. Also love the one camera shot of liam at the start of the first verse when its side on and seems to glide along with him and back to sharrock, really clever.
all in all, great tune. really good vocal aswell actually. Think he's finally nailed the John Lydon period in his career.

Well this is a lot better. Listened to it a good dozen or so times now, and unlike BTL I actually feel a little excited by the album at last. I don't think its up there with Rock n Roll Star or Fuckin in the Bushes, but its certainly in Turn up The Sun/ The Hindu Times' class.
8/10 imo.

It's an above average song; but the solo and especially the drums take it to another level for me. Reactions were: Cool intro, amazing drums by Chris Sharrock awesome verse! Okay chorus Awesome solo!!! ....More of the same Awesome outro! I haven't heard anyone say this before; but I think Chris really improves the sound and the vibe of this song!

I think its a decent tune, like the sound and the attitude. This is the first thing ive heard (including the clips) that makes me see some potential for the future for BDI. Its upped my enthusiasm for listening to the full album for sure. Roll on release day!

I don't really understand why people are saying it's a good vocal? Probably one of the worst vocals by Liam on a studio recorded track! Then again, maybe it's just me. I'll echo the "good tune but nothing special" sentiments. Cool track.

Nothing amazing, but pretty good.
Way better than the last two piece of shit tracks.
The good: Some nice fat guitars and hooks.
The bad (the usual criticisms): Too long, slurring vocals, a couple of shit lyrics.

It has something that reminds me of "Live and let die" (which, of course, is far superior)...it's not a great song, but it's good, while BTL was pur sh*t to me. At least, it gives me curiosity for the album. If we're comparing it to other album openers...I think this is at the same level of "turn up the sun" (which I never really loved)...dunno why people think TIT is so bad, I think it's mega!

I don't think it's fair to compare Four Letter Word with the Oasis album openers, specially the ones when Gem and Andy weren't even in the band. Liam is the only remaining original member of Oasis and those songs were not written by him. So what's the point? I like the song a lot for what it is! Great opener, lots of energy. The only thing I don't like very much is Liam's voice in a few moments like "nothing ever lasts forever". He sings the word 'forever' cutting it like he was doing on the doys tour. Very annoying!
What if this song was written by Andy? Seems like he has a bit of anger towards Noel lol Couldn't be more happy with this song, exactly what I was expecting from the boys.

The song is good, the video is shite. But most everyone has said everything that needs to be said about it by this point. But when do we get a proper single?

Lol the 1st 6 pages are all positive and then the haters and comparing people have dominated the last few pages. "The Perfect Song" does not exist people. Enjoy it or hate it for what it is. I like it, its a good, solid rock opener.

I like it, its a good, solid rock opener. Your right. The euphoric rambling on the first few pages are more of an indication of the songs value than the less hyperbolic ones later on. Don't start the talk about Lovers and Hater again. That f---ing wound me up during the BTL release. All these people saying that if this was released as a single it would be the better than any single released by Oasis in this decade is hard to take seriously.

Someone who doesn't respect other peoples opinions is even harder to take seriously. Four Letter Word is easily better than Hindu Times, Lyla, Shock Of The Lightning and She Is Love.

At least on some of these initial releases.

I like how everyone goes "Don't compare it to Oasis. It's Beady Eye, not Oasis. Besides, it's better than *insert Oasis opening track here*."
