all of those song are miles better than BTL, don't even try going there. Don't go where? Read the point that was made properly. I didn't say anywhere that Bring The Light was better than those songs. I've made the point that the best material is not always released as a single. Or are you really going to argue that Shakermaker is better than Slide Away or Sunday Morning Call is better than Gas Panic? Actually(i know im proly in the minority) i like SMC quite a lot, in fact i like it better than Gas Panic. Having said that, i still like Gas Panic. MY point was that you can release stuff that is not your strongest effort, that's all fine and dandy AS LONG as it is still solid stuff that will appeal to your fanbase.

that's all fine and dandy AS LONG as it is still solid stuff that will appeal to your fanbase. NO - they release what they want or wherever their creative head is - not what the fans of their former band think or want they should be releasing. Think of the Beatles releasing Please Please Me in 1963 and Tomorrow Knows literally three years later. You take your fans on a journey, not the other way around. Britney Spears releases what she thinks the fans will like, so does Simon Cowell.

Of course they're going to promote, but the songs they are wrinting are songs they like. And want to put out there.
Where did I say they weren't trying to sell it?

Liam clothes on the new video are different from the ones he got in the first teaser, and he was not wearing the hat.
Another hint.

Can anyone confirm if BTL will be for sale?
Otherwise it's just a free track with a video, not technically a single in my book. It wont chart or be eligable for awards.

this is the problem with the song... www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=1578079024371&ref=mfit might be funny but this song just does NOT belong in these times, it's way too much of a retro kind of sound. If you're into that kind of stuff then it's all well and good but i am 23 and i don't like the same stuff my parents like. I like the Beatles and 1 or 2 songs from that era but that's about it. Absurd comment. So you'd rather have Liam rapping and the band use autotune, then, to fit in with the modern era? Of course you don't. It having a retro sound is the coolest part of the song. The vibe is excellent. And because you feel the way you do, even though you don't like the track, mean the lads have been successful. They were going for this sound and they have clearly achieved it. There's nothing new in the charts like this, and that's what makes it even better. It's different. It's retro. It's refreshing. And as the listens continue, I start to care less and less about the weak lyrics. It's a proper uplifting pop tune.

I don't think it's a single but whatever, does it really matter that much?
The best way to judge the quality of the album is to listen to it. I have my expectations and everything, but am not making a decision of whether it will be good or bad based on speculation.

radio promo was released for it. Yep a 2 track promo was given to radio stations in Brazil to promote Rock In Rio, but that's hardy a single release. the video wasn't even released in relation to that promo cd, it was released to promote Familiar To Millions.

Look guys you are just going in circles, promo video's are used NOT ONLY FOR SINGLE RELEASES - FACT! However, these NON-SINGLE videos aren't normally released FIRST??? They are normally used elsewhere AFTER the initial single and album release. I've never seen a promo video that wasn't for a single released BEFORE any new single was about to be released. In conclusion - this video MUST be for the single Bring The Light!

Regardless of whether you class it as a single or not, its the first official promo release for the album. Whether it is a single or not is by the by.
