Unless it is a promo as someone else mentioned. Its a decent, light pop tune. Might do ok. It is only the singles chart afterall. Does anyone still care about them?

Does anyone still care about them? actually seeing as now(that the music industry has gone all digital), YES! it matters because albums don't sell anymore, with only a few exceptions, it doesn't matter who you are, albums don't sell for shit, it's all about the singles. Just ask Katy Perry or even U -fuckin'- 2 !

I haven't looked at it for a very long time because its filled with such shit.
Why does anyone assume that because its a single it must be one of the strongest songs on there rather than it just being the most appropriate for release?

this is the problem with the song... www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=1578079024371&ref=mfit might be funny but this song just does NOT belong in these times, it's way too much of a retro kind of sound. If you're into that kind of stuff then it's all well and good but i am 23 and i don't like the same stuff my parents like. I like the Beatles and 1 or 2 songs from that era but that's about it.

Because usually people put out their strongest songs for release as singles. Well that's not really true is it? We'll use Oasis as an example. Shakermaker Roll With It All Around The World Sunday Morning Call Little By Little / She Is Love They could have released, as each are all better songs : Slide Away Champagne Supernova Don't Go Away Gas Panic! And to be honest nothing more from Heathen Chemistry as they already released the only 3 songs half decent anyway. The only thing I'm going to say about Bring The Light is It's an alright wee tune, pretty catchy and a bit different so I'm happy enough with it and will look forward to the album. If folk don't like it, don't listen to it, simples!

With respect, and nothing personal, but this post is ridic. You fit in around Beady Eye, not the other way around. It's not about whether it's appropriate, or anything else. As Liam says, if you like it, buy it. If you don't, don't. They're the artist and they can release what the fuck they want!

I have never said it's a piece of crap because i am respectful of other people's taste in music. Some people like Jerry Lee Lewis and Elvis but i don't. I respect the hell out of those 2 guys but it's not my thing. THat music was able to sell tons of records back in the day but no new artists or bands that come out with that sound IN THIS ERA are ever going to be successful. I don't like the song and i hope to god the rest of the album is nothing like it, because if it is, i wont be interested any longer in Liam's band and i wont buy the thing.

all of those song are miles better than BTL, don't even try going there. Don't go where? Read the point that was made properly. I didn't say anywhere that Bring The Light was better than those songs. I've made the point that the best material is not always released as a single. Or are you really going to argue that Shakermaker is better than Slide Away or Sunday Morning Call is better than Gas Panic?

Your dislike of the song is perfectly reasonable. But that is not the same thing as saying Liam Gallagher shouldn't do what the fuck he wants because the result sounds like something your parents like! And it's a good thing everyone doesn't have the attitude that just because something doesn't quite fit in with modern trends it won't be successful - otherwise nothing new would get tried. I like BTL EXACTLY because it's a little eccentric and out of fashion.
