Szczesny did look incredible tonight - fingers crossed this goalkeeping 'crisis' we are apparently having is nothing, what with Fabianski's excellent performances over the past couple of weeks and of course the potential of Szczesny. Don't see the point in keeping Almunia, as he will most definitely want to move if he doesn't get first team football. I would give it till January to see how it develops - i.e. if Fabianski can maintain his form. If he does, then I don't think the goalkeeping issue should be a worry then. If Arsenal can keep the major players injury free (and it's a big if judging by how injury prone the team seem to be at the moment), then I think we will certainly be serious contenders. If not, they'll still be there or thereabouts but like previous seasons, so near yet so far. Saying that, I am optimistic. It's amazing - Arsene didn't add much from last year, and last year I thought our squad was weak. But Kosy looks pretty decent, and Chamakh has started well, but also Theo (when fit) and Nasri have started beyond expectations, and then there's Wilshere added to the mix, too. I'm not convinced about Squillaci yet, though. I also think Diaby is still too inconsistent and that Denilson will never be good enough. But WBA aside, we've had a good start to this season overall.

Another well deserved win for the arsenal. Szczesny looked immense. No such thing as a well deserved win for Le Arsenal.

I think Squillachi will become good enough - I would say he's temporary there for a couple os seasons until Koscielny gets adapted and strengthens himself, as he's only young but he's still shown a lot of potential. Wilshere is basically like a new signing to the first team plus Aaron Ramsey is close to coming back, and Chamakh is proving to be the bargain of the year. I agree with your opinions on Diaby and Denilson though.

After the debacle of WBA and then the eventual pathetic display against Newcastle, I for one can't believe we're only 2points off the pace! Not bad, all things considering.
Also, I know there are several Arsenal fans on this forum. Support this thread, damn it!

Who would have thought it - back to second and two points behind Chelsea after last weeks debacle against Newcastle.
Still not totally convinced as this season seems to be tossing and turning in all directions. But as long as Arsenal are still in it, that's all I'm happy with.

WTF, GTFO Arsene
Yet ANOTHER chance thrown away. I'm getting sick of this shit. There is NO excuse for losing the game from 2-0 up. NONE. I am not happy.

I can't believe Chelsea lost AGAIN! How many chances is Arsene going to get?
I'm going to sue the Premier League for emotional distress. This is the most absurd season ever.

^^^ Again, please shut it and stop pretending you are an Arsenal fan. Away and watch BASEketball or something eh Twat! Started following Arsenal in 1996 periodically (was still really young) and got stuck in during 1997 and haven't looked back since. Please. I've grown up with Arsene, and will hate to see him go, but he's been really doing my head in these last few seasons. Seriously though, this is the most absurd season yet. Chelsea lost 3 in a row and are still top? Utd are undefeated after 14 games but still only second? Arsenal have already lost 4 games, but only 2 points off the pace? Liverpool are a laughing stock? What is going on?

No complaints from me today. We were so poor it defies logic. Just wish we could have made Wayne pay for ballooning that penalty.
I'm not too devastated. Let's see where we are after 2 weeks, after Man Utd and Chelsea play, and we play Chelsea.

i'm looking forward to your games with barca, i think walcott & van persie will need to be back to their best for you to have much of a chance, would be great for the EPL to see you beat them.

I'm resigned we'll lose - but if we can get the excitement level as the same as the pulsating 2-2 draw last season, I'll be satisfied. As the saying goes, to be the best you have to beat the best. If it wasn't Barca in the Last 16, it would Barca (or Real Madrid) in one of the later rounds. If we go out early, that gives us a better chance to focus on the Prem, which is the number 1 competition. Every cloud, eh....? EDIT: Lose against Chelsea on Monday will be the penultimate nail in the coffin for the league season for Arsenal, though.

I got a feeling we're gonna beat Chelsea tomorrow. And should we do so, they will be out of the title race, especially considering Utd have a game in hand (vs Blackpool). That would be a great xmas present. I hate Chelsea so freaking much.
