Liam's voice was at it's worst on the DOYS tour. I disagree with this. The biggest problem on the DOYS tour was that his voice waa turned down in most of the soundmixes. For example the River Plate gig. His voice wasn't that bad on the iTunea Festival. DBTT: Had some really good performances, but some of his absolute worst. Inconsistent. DOYS: Very consistent. Not bad, not really good either. Angry bastard, for sure.

I thought the band themselves were solid, but Liam's voice was at the height of its "Kermit the Frog" mode 2003-06. It was so bad that Noel gave Liam an ultimatum: get your voice together or get fired from the band. Really? The ultimatum happened in 2005 IIRC, just after the Jonathan Ross show.

It was just tabloid bollocks and it was after the Brits in 2007, not the Jonathan Ross show.

Wait, there was an ultimatum to Liam? Can someone officially give a reference to this?

That Jonathan Ross performance was actually one of the best from the DBTT era, and Lyla from that performance was the closest they ever came to nailing down vocals that were almost identical to the album version.

Ah okay. Funny how the brain misremembers things. It was the Brits, not Jonathan Ross.

This was a sad, sad night for Oasis.
Mostly cos it was at Glasto, and fueled the UK hate for Oasis.
A disaster let's be honest.

That coat would of been amazing with longer hair and a shaved face. Noel was starting to look like a miserable dwarf, mainly due to the fact it was the first time we'd seen his new microphone stand position, all hunched over looking down when he sang (I think he'd been watching Bob Dylan footage)
And as everyone's said before the drumming too slow, too much cymbal and just generally not right. I remember being embarrassed at the thought my friends would be watching this on BBC knowing I was a massive Oasis fan. Bad comeback first impression.

I love this version of Wonderwall. Noel is the most annoying in this video to me

There's an obvious croak in Liam's voice but overall it's fine, job done. Not his best but by far not even close to his worst - which was to come a year later.

Easily the worst Oasis gig I've ever heard, I never really liked the drummers after Whitey, the style was all wrong and the songs slower.

Alan White was the man on the kit for me, nothing was the same when he left.

I'm aware he only played a handful of gigs but the drive he gave those songs was better than Alan in my opinion. Not that I dislike Alan at all, he was a good drummer but I prefer the other two.

So used to only hearing Steve's work with Paul Weller or Damon Minchella (Family Silver, Trio Valore) that I forget just what a versatile drummer he is. I have to admit out the two I prefer Steve as well, though Alan could certainly play- maybe it was Steve being into Jazz and Alan into Funk that gave them their varying styles?
