Anelka already sent packing. The French team refuses to train. The French football director went home in protest....what an absolute embarrassment they are.

Have you never heard or grasped the concept of being proud to represent you country in any sport!! It should be the pinnacle of your career!! You seem to think he is doing the country a favour by dragging his knuckles around the pitch in south africa. Surely it should be an honour not a chore!!! I have no doubt that, when England fail to achieve whatever it is they're supposed to be achieving, many will take great delight in vilifying that 'corporate monkey' for his failure to perform for fans who are clearly quite eager to tear him to shreds as soon as he ceases to represent our best chance of winning a World Cup. If you read Soccernomics, you'd know that England actually over achieve (this takes into account their population and economy). There are also several reasons why England don't win the world cup. It has nothing to do with too many foreigners in the Premiership - Sepp Blatter is an idiot. In fact, it helps if the English players play overseas! Also, burnout is another factor, amongst several others.

I guess you have never ventured outside of Old Trafford, but let me assure you, and this may come as a huge shock BUT lower league clubs do play in stadiums. We no longer play skins and shirts up the local park!!!! We even have referees and lines men!! Well, congratulations on misinterpreting the only point you've chosen to write an actual response to. And I'm fucked if I know what that Glazer comment is supposed to mean.

Well, still not the football we want to watch but a little bit better than the first match. At least we're winning. Is it me or the Ivory Coast sent their rugby team to South Africa? What a shame. They spent the whole time beating us and Kaka gets expelled? Very unfair. And finally Luis Fabiano decided to play. Fantastic goals specially the second. Kind of illegal but the best goal of the cup so far

Kaká's red card was extremely unfair. And why the hell is the referee asking Luis Fabiano if he played the ball with his hand on the second goal? IDIOT!
So far, South American teams have played a perfect World Cup. Argentina and Brazil have been the two best teams

I couldn't understand why the ref was asking him about the handball at the end! Some quality goals though last night, it was ashame Elano went off.

Chile won deservingly. Spain will probably win today but will still need to beat Chile, and I don't see that happening easily.
10 matches so far for South American teams: 8 wins 2 draws (against the two 2006 finalists). Doesn't get much better than that. It's an aberration that Africa gets the same number of spots in the finals as South America.

Now THAT's my country!!! COME ON!!! I dedicate those 7 to you, Marcos Aw, I'm a proud portu-geezer :') Thank you very much, you're very kind! ;D Next friday's match could be really good! Brazil and Portugal will fight to be first! Too bad Kaka is off, but Brazil will win Poor koreans, the dictator will kill them all. And I'm really proud of all the south american teams (except Argentina, of course, they can burn in hell). All of them are leading their groups. Nice one!

Fantastic goals specially the second. Kind of illegal but the best goal of the cup so far Shit goal, cause it is very easy to control the ball with your hands... But Brazil hasn't even shown 60% and that is what scares me.

If Spain comes through they'll be dangerous, but that's a big IF. They will have to play way better than they did today if they want to beat Chile, who's been, along with Argentina, the most fun team to watch

And you're damn right about your last sentence, that's what annoy me the most!! But I'm very confident we'll play our best football against Portugal.

Group C is wide open after Friday's play, with three points separating all four teams. When the last two games kick off simultaneously at 10 a.m. ET next Wednesday, almost anything could happen. Here's how the various scenarios pan out for the U.S.: If the U.S. defeats Algeria -- It will go through regardless of the other result, though its final ranking will be affected by that result. If Slovenia beats England, the U.S. will qualify second. If England beats Slovenia, it will be level on points with the U.S. and goal difference will come into play -- currently, that goes in favor of the U.S. If the U.S. loses to Algeria -- It cannot progress to the next round, no matter the other result. If the U.S. ties with Algeria and England loses to Slovenia -- Bob Bradley's team will qualify second behind the Slovenians. If the U.S. ties and England wins -- England and Slovenia will qualify. If the U.S. ties and England and Slovenia also draw -- Slovenia will top the group. England and the U.S. will be split by goal difference, but the U.S. currently has a two-goal advantage in goals scored in that category. Be warned: If Wednesday's results mirror Friday's -- with England drawing 2-2 with Slovenia and the U.S. tying 0-0 with Algeria -- Slovenia will qualify first, and FIFA will draw lots for second place.
