Barcelona were pretty lucky imo. Shite performance from the ref.
And now we have to put up with the Barce love-fest for even longer. Hope Utd win. Barcelona's best fullbacks will be out of the final as well won't they? Looking good for Man Utd.

Chelsea were robbed. I wanted Barca to to win it but not in such a way. Hiddink is to blame for everything, he had Barca against the ropes and 10 players and he chose to defend a one goal lead instead of looking for the second. I'm glad the coward bastards won't be in the final.
Barca - Man U Messi - Ronaldo
I hope it's a classic match

trying to get over, best deal so far is a week in Pisa costing €400 or else flights on Tues/Thurs for the same price. Ticket is the main thing, if I can get my hands on one I will be estactic!

What ou doing for the final supersonic? I'll be watching it in Manchester. MUST are showing the game at a pub called Sam Platt's, five minutes from Old Trafford. It's the same place I watched last year's final. Definitely worth a shout if you can't afford to get to Italy, or can't get your hands on a match ticket.

That was sweet.
Karma. Thats all I'm gonna say. One the biggest cheats in world football calling the ref a disgrace, haha, ironic.
Don't think I could of done with supporting Chelsea for two finals in a row.
For obvious reasons I'll be supporting Barcelona. At least we might have a football game now, rather than a chess match.

Usually head to the Blaize when I'm over but would expect that to be even more jammed than usual. Was in a Reds only bar last year for the final here, great atmosphere - huge place. Unfortunatly its closed now, theres talk of a new place but I think its only small so keeping all options open

that ref was fucking pathetic tonight. this game is called FOOTball - not handball. chelsea had been the far better team in those two games! end off.
i am not a drogba fan but in this case he was so right. at least 3 handball- penalties! the most ridiculous situation was the last shot from ballack. the ref was like 5 meters away... and why the fuck did he add 4 minutes to the clock? seriously, that semi-final was pathetic. fucking barca lobby. i never thought i'd say that, but i wish manu all the best to defend their title. eventhough i hate christiano ronaldo...

Excuse me mate but you don't deserve being in the final. Chelsea's football is completely shit. You give the ball away and put 10 players defending in your area then if by some chance you get the ball someone sends a rocket to drogba to see if he can do something. That is called SHIT. ManU and Barça are the two best teams in Europe right now, stop crying and get over it.

What quality is it that you speak of? Parking a fucking bus in front of the goal line? Is that quality? Diving like fucking baywatch models? You know what's a fucking disgrace? Chelsea's game, putting the whole team behind the ball even though they had one more man on the pitch. AT HOME!!!! Cheap catenaccio deserved this kick in the head, glorious day for football.

To be fair to Chelsea the tactics the played were spot on, and were a couple of minutes away from proving that. Its all about winning games, and that was almost a complete European performance.
Not that I'm complaining, but football is more than just your flair players. Grinding out results can get can you far.
Manchester United won't go all out attack, because Barcelona will exploit the space. They play on the counter and with the pace they've got it could win them it. Hope I'm wrong!

What A Game!!!
Guardiola's celebration was Basil Fawlty-esque!!!
Cannot wait for the final....Messi v Ronaldo....the messiah will show who's the best
Barcelona will have loads of possession in the final but I fear utd could nick it with a free kick.
BARCA!!!!

Man Utd won't go all out attack, that's for sure, finals are like that. Even if Barça has (I think's what'll happen) a high possession rate, they won't be risking it all.
But the thing I'm sure of is that they're not going to do it as ugly as Chelsea did. "Oh, here's the ball, go on ball, go see if you can find your uncle drogba, I can't see him form here but you'll find him some time".
United will try to pressure and then counterattack mostly, and Barça will keep the ball and look for spaces with lots of patience. That's one thing, you know, a 'conservative' style, but Chelsea?? Come on.

Manchester United won't go all out attack, because Barcelona will exploit the space. They play on the counter and with the pace they've got it could win them it. Hope I'm wrong! i absolutely agree on that. here are a few points i'd like to add about football and quality and that: 1. like dom said: football is about winning the games. we all like the circus but in the end: nothing is more entertaining than a victory. i'd rather win 1:0 than lose 3:4 after a breathtaking match. every top team in europe has it's philosophy to win games. some are playing offensive, some are playing (rather) defensive. a good team is a team that is able to beat any other squad, no matter how they are playing. a good team can build up pressure when needed or play absolutely defensive when needed. it is no coincidence that in the past 6 years, chelsea was 5 times among the top 4 in the champions league(barca: 3 times). 2. just because it's usual that the supposed underdog is playing defensive, it doesn't mean that a generally defensive team is the team with less quality. the italians play like this for years, and i wouldn't dare say that this is a proof for their poor talents - or even say, that their game was shit! it is amazing to see what messi or henry or iniesta are celebrating with the ball. i mean, that 1:1 (if i am not wrong) in munich in the quarter finals was a fabulous, spectacular goal. it takes a lot of talent to do things like that. but i once saw inter play in munich and you know what - it was as impressive as any of barcas magic attacks, how inters whole team managed to totally neutralize all of bayern munichs efforts (and inters game must have looked awful on tv, but in the stadium it was really impressive). and seriously (i know that from my own football experience), it takes so much quality, talent and intelligence to coordinate a game like that. to always have two players at e.g. messi, without anybody else being completly uncovered is fucking brilliant. it's not just about having 10 players behind the ball - it's about not ending up in a total chaos, when messi & co start circulating. for gods sake: even a proper offside trap is so much work!!!! 3. to all manu fans: what did manu do in porto? they were in a pretty fucked up situation after the 2:2 in the first leg. they knew they had to score at least once. and what did they do? the scored in the 6th minute - and then they played a hardcore defence for 84 minutes with teves as right defender and ronaldo as the one player who was allowed to enter portos half. and what did porto do? nothing. they weren't able to threaten manu for one second. THAT was quality. so, to sum this up. i was impressed, how chelsea went to barcelona (a team that had destroyed lyon and bayern at home after only 45 minutes) and they had one goal: we won't let barca score (believe me, bayern had the same thoughts... but things went slightly wrong...). and they managed to do this by playing a tactical masterpiece. and yesterday? chelsea had more chances, chelsea was denied 3 crystal clear penalties... chelsea was the better team! so for me: not the better (in those two games) team has reached the finals, but the luckier one. and my prediction is that manu is going to make this. but who knows, maybe barca will be lucky with the ref once again ;D no seriosly, two great teams. maybe 52:48 % for manu. end off...

Well, I'm not saying Chelsea's game is illegal(maybe only a few hard tackles to the calfs, but no doubt of their sportsmanship on that, it's part of the game to foul). I'm not saying it's easy to stop Messi and co from scoring, but it's definitely a shit show -in my opinion, of course- to try and do only that. Yes, there were about 2 to 5 penalties that the ref could have signaled in favour of Chelsea in the second leg. But the ref clearly favoured them blue meanies in the first one, Chelsea comitted three times as many fouls as Barça, but got the same amount of yellow cards. Aslo the penalty on Henry... Same thing with Bayern, lots of hard fouls, almost no coloured cards. And there's something about the Bridge, the heroes in blue love to dive like it's the olympics--> Again, the only reaction the norwegian had was a red card to Abidal. Anyways, you can like the ref more or less, non are happy at the end of the day. So, your team is better at defence? Perfectly legitimate, defend all and as hard as you like with a one man advantage, but I think (even more when you have the money and the players Chelski have) that that is a SHIT FOOTBALL DISPLAY. And I love Barça's game, you see, football's a beautiful sport, right?

So halftheworld if you like your team because it's able to win 1-0 every game they play by defending 89 minutes and sending long balls to drogba and see if he can score then good on you.
I love football and I love my team's game because everytime iniesta, xavi, messi or any other player gets the ball and do the things that right now only they can do I'd like to stop the time and see them play forever. Generally this quality game ends with a victory, so that makes me even happier.
Two different philosophies, but I guess you would prefer your team to play like Barça has been playing all this season. I tell you, you would enjoy football a lot more than you do.

first of all. chelsea is not really my team, the one that i support will probably never see the champions league in this century ;D and i don't give a fuck about how they play, i want them to win! in the end it's a question of focus. i think modern day football is a bit too much focused on the offense. but that's just one part of this fascinating game. players have various talents - e.g. ronaldo sucks so bad when they are defending... or look at ribery (seriously without lahm, bayern would have been screwed way before barca), but somehow people only appreciate offensive skills. i am afraid football turned into something like a circus - the show is all that counts (i mean, okay ronaldo's free kick on tuesday was great - but what the fuck is that cowboy thing all about?) and of course i'd like to see my team play like barca. but i would also like to see my team play like chelsea (and seriously, jazzvi, i watched the game again today - and it was not just long balls for drogba ;D).
