Definitely gets better with more listens. Probably Liam's 3rd best song after Songbird and IOT. Not sure it would ever work as a single as intended, but it's definitely good enough for an album.

Yes it should have made DOYS but at least it got the 'abbey road' magic Or did it? Sonically it doesn't correlate with anything on DOYS, in terms of drum, guitar and bass sounds....I have a sneaking suspicion that it was recorded at Wheeler End for the DBTT sessions.

For some reason this is like an anti-grower to me. I loved it on the first listen, but after the third, I was wondering why.

I like it okay. The ending is the good bit, Noel was right. I don't see why they couldn't have worked some of that refrain in earlier in the song and then brought it back at the end?
The "Come on together for you" bit though - did it HAVE to be such a Lennon nick?
At least Liam managed to write a song without the word "song" in!

I don't know why everyone shits on Soldier On - I think it's brilliant, and a great (if not perfect ending) for DoYS...

It sure as hell grew on me. I think the only reason I was originally let down was because I was expecting the song from the Lyla DVD, so I was prepared for this type of song. Now that I listen to it however, I think its fantastic.

I like SOldier On...I think its ok. My first opnions were that it let a great album down slightly as it doesnt really go anywhere...but nevertheless it has kind of grown on me and its now well and truly part of a great, great album! However, after hearing Boy With The Blues for the first time today (I managed to resist downloading the bonus tracks early) I am absolutley staggered that anyone in the camp honestly thought that Solider On was a better album closer than Boy With The Blues!!! The song fits the album well and would have been a far better track to have close an album than Soldier On.
I know there's been a lot of for and against about Boy With The Blues in the forum, but personally, I cant see how anyone could prefer SO over BWTB.
But still...what an album!

8/10 for me.... it's a very VERY good song imo. and like a lot of you have said, it should have closed the album but whatever...

(I just listened to the bonus disc for the first time.)
BWTB = SO, just with a happier sound. I probably would take this over IOT, although neither really fit with the sound of the album.

Am I the only one who think the arrangement of BWTB is fine? If not, great? After giving it a couple of listens I can honestly say it's very album worthy, better than any other of Liam's track on DOYS besides IOT. Sure, it wouldn't exactly fit in with the rest of the album, but neither really does IOT. I think Moorish's remix is really good, but I prefer it the way it is right now. Compared to the tracks on DOYS, i would give BWTB 8.5/10

The more I think about it, the more I come to the conclusion that this is a fucking brilliant song. The lyrics are so inspiring. Better than some of the stuff on DOYS, should have been included. Shame it wasn't.
You take a vow never to back down - fucking brilliant.

"And my dreams, are bound, to come through somehow" I love that line I'm tempted to say this song is better than IOT......seriously. I love TBWTB....just about 30 seconds too long though. Why oh why isnt it the closer? It shits all over the boring mess that is Soldier On....
