It kind of sounds like Soldier On, doesn't it? The first bit. It uses the same chords. I think the song could have been a little more interesting if the verse ending on a major instead of a minor. Just to break up the monotony.

The refrain a the end makes it a perfect album closer IMO SHOULD have been ahead of Soldier On Yeah totally agree. I'm still not a huge fan of the song but does sound like an album closer. I think a fair few people are high on it as its a brand new track we havent heard before and we know how exciting that is. But 100% sounds like an album closer. |

Love it! Should have closed the album! Infact, this is liam's best song exepct I'm outta time!
My only problem is I feel it would be better with more major chords. I'ts still great this way, though!

Its passed the acid test for me definitley, I think it's a fantastic track and completley blinded by the fact Liam's behind it. It sounds very oasis-y, which is strange. I love it, Moody little rainy day track with a great melody and not bad words. Like most of the album. It's a rainy day album. Cities at night through a windshield in the rain. Or something.
4/5 for the song.

I've certainly been a critic of Oasis' recent output, I think DOYS is adequate, there are a few killer tracks, a load of "will do" tracks and a few duff tracks.
However, I think The Boy With The Blues is a pretty strong tune. The ending sounds a bit like Blur, Beetlebum/Tender type thing. Liam is becoming a better writer, I thought all his hippie sh*t on Don't Believe The Truth was cringeworthy.

I am glad it is not on the album, not up to the hype.
It starts off promising then never really goes anywhere decent. Does not fit the "new" sound of the album.
None of the bonus tracks are worth the hype if you ask me.
WFTR is "nice" though
