I listened to it stoned and it sounded almost as good as Dark Side...
I listened to it sober and it was not all that good...
So take that for what it's worth

There are some tracks on every album that I can't listen to ever again because they're a bit dull, stuff like "Up in the Sky", "Bring It on Down" HUH?!?!? Filler? Bring It On Down??!?!?! Wow. Each to their own, I guess. Are you on iNet as well? I don't know, I've just never enjoyed the song that much, it's not a "Slide Away." It is similar to "Up in the Sky" though.

Works loads better going through speakers. Listened to hit through headphones this morning, maybe because I was tired, but I didn't get the same effect.
I love the subtle piano build up to the chorus for I'm Outta Time.

I listened to it completely in the dark at like 2 AM this morning through my headphones and it was amazing, but yeah, it works very well on speakers aswell.

the track order is genius. There are only 2 songs I wouldn't say are genius but are still VERY GOOD, AGN & NOR. Everything else is just sick. Listening to their post 2000 I used to think that Oasis had good ideas but could never really get the job done on the studio... this time they've NAILED it with the production.
Gem's song is his best contribution to the band so far, so is Andy's, Liam is showing he can write awsome songs, standout songs! and Noel... well, this man is writing some music that will stand the test of time on this album, all of his songs are sheer genius! Noel Gallagher has cemented his place amongst the best songwriters ever in rock/pop music.
Liam's voice sounds amazing, it's the best he's sounded since BHN and I might end up liking his voice on this record more than on DM or even MG! He sounds very aggressive on BIT, vox on IOOT is one of his best ever deliveries... I like DBTT, I thought it was a return to form until a week ago, but this album makes it sound lame... The guitars, the bass the drums, the vox, the feeling, the keyboards, the songwriting, everything is fucking great. this is Oasis sounding as fresh and relevant in 2008 as they did in 1994...

DON'T BELIEVE THE TRUTH was a welcome return to Oasis in top form but DIG OUT YOUR SOUL is a ridiculously amazing step forward in terms of production and songwriting!
A gorgeous, beautiful peice of work from start to finish.

Waiting for the Rapture should be on Abbey Road. SEriously has anyone noticed that bits of it's chorus is identical to ending of hello goodbye/strawberry fields on the love album.
That yawn bit in the verse freaked me out

It just got me into the songs even quicker I think, cause I could already start to sing along the first listen through.
The album is so killer. I can't stop listening.
Ain't Got Nothin is growing on me, and TBWTL is just unreal.

I just listened to the album for the first time and I really wasn't particularly expecting a lot. But I was pleasantly surprised. This is the most adventurous and most psychedelic album they've ever done. I can't really say it's their BEST album yet (after just one listen) but I can definitely say that they didn't play it safe this time and I'm very happy about that. This is something new and exciting. And I literally got chills about 3 or 4 times.
I actually think The Shock Of The Lightning is the least interesting song on the album too... How about that?

I'd agree that TSOTL is probably the least interesting.

Spent the whole of last night listening to the album, the MRS is fuming as i got to bed at 4am.
It's quality, through and through. It's got a psychedelic theme throughout, insightful and quite bluesy. There's a definite groove to the first 4 songs.
It's going to be one of those albums that grow, and that you pull out of your collection in a years time, telling everyone who cares, and who doesn't that you'd forgotten how good it was.
Sweet.

NOR doesn't actually seem that bad after a few listens, I still don't think it should have been on the album though.

I don't understand the hate Ain't Got Nothin' recieves! Sure it's short, sure the lyrics aren't brilliant, but with fairly good production like this version, even with Noel's Falsetto's, it sounds great, and it needs it to smoothly take the album from TBWTL to TNOR. It's the one I've found myself singing along to most, probably because I've heard it before.
The Turning and Bag It Up have proper James Bond vibes though.
