THE curse of the OASIS drummer has struck again.
RINGO STARR’s son ZAK STARKEY will not record on any additional tracks on singles from their forthcoming album.
Word from inside the camp is that Zak might never play the pots and pans for the Manc lads again. A source said: “There have been arguments with NOEL GALLAGHER and general disagreements. It looks like the album will be his last involvement with the band.”
Bizarre Lord Noel has a reputation for going through drummers like dirty socks.
He binned both TONY McCARROLL and ALAN WHITE when he felt their time had come.

Does anybody know who drummed on the new demos? There's was talk on the STC board that Terry drummed on those, and if that's true i would be more than happy with him.

We know its BS, it's The Sun.
There's no reason for Zak to not continue with Oasis, and there's been no word from the lads themselves, so I have a hard time believing this.
Drum on, Zak. Drum on.

I really liked Zak, it would be a shame if it was true... but the article was a bit confusing, Zak recorded this forthcoming album right?

It'd be nice of they had a drummer who was an actual member of the band. Zak Starkey was more of a studio guy for them and was never in any band photos and was never listed as a member of Oasis. Terry can't hit the drums like Zak. I'm starting to miss the Morning Glory/Be Here Now lineup with almost all Liam sung songs and Noel not sharing the songwriting. This democratic stuff has just got to stop in my opinion. Liam's songs are amateur compared to Noel's and Noel's vocals are dull and AOR compared to Liam's. Also, its too late for this one but, BRING BACK OWEN MORRIS! They need that raw, edge of your seat production... no more of this slick Sardy stuff.
Had to vent. Cheers.

Let me be the first to start the "Re-draft Alan White" campaign...And I'd like to just add, since Alan clearly leaked the Heathen Chemistry record and was fired, then Zak obviously leaked the recent demos...
Only kidding folks, just wanted to preempt the idiots...

Would be a shame if true, Zak seems like a nice guy and his drumming is very visceral, primordial stuff. Pure rock n roll.
Anyway, seems like they have the best albums when they have a fresh drummer, so who knows? Def Maybe-Tony's 1st Morning Glory-Alan's 1st DBTT-Zak's 1st

Plus Morris has a reputation of being a bit of a piss artist, especially during recording sessions. When they went to make SOTSOG I think Noel'd desire for a more "modern" sound and the plan of keeping Liam off the sauce (see the Bonehead-sacking) added up to no involvement for Owen. I agree it's a shame, they should get him back in. He had the perfect sensibility for recording and mixing Noel's tunes.

Also, its too late for this one but, BRING BACK OWEN MORRIS! They need that raw, edge of your seat production.... I've thought that for years too ... producer is so important to the overall sound of the band... and he helped give Oasis their signature sound on the older albums... Let's face it, the albums (DM, WTSMG, BHN), the singles and the b-sides Morris produced had that amazing rock n roll sound that made Oasis big.. You should read up on Morris, he is given much credit for his influence on the "sound" of rock music in the mid-90s... he developed this new technique that allowed more overdrive from guitars with less static on your speaker systems... that's why the guitars sound so big on DM and BHN... It's called compression and it existed long before Owen Morris came to the scene. He just happened to do it to the whole mix...Many people in the audio industry credit rock music in the 90s with the downfall of fidelity so take of that what you will.

Yeah, I hope they bring Alan back! He's an incredible drummer. My gut feeling says that they're going to bring Terry Kirkbride on board, though.
