Frank Lomax It was a moment in life which I will never forget, when I first popped that CD in and pressed play, especially after the half decade of torment waiting to hear it. Noel counted it off: "One.. two... three... four," and then there it was. Yes, it was really true, I was listening to "Stop the Clocks" for the first time ever. As other fans learned of my dream being realized, they had questions, such as: "Were your huge expectations met?" and "What do you think of the song?" I will try to answer those questions and others as I share with you a brief glimpse into the song of legend. The first time you listen to "Stop the Clocks", you may think it is simply a better realized "Who Feels Love?". But, by about the fifth listen, you come to understand that this is a song unlike anything Noel or Oasis has ever done before. It is a song of such depth and complexity that perhaps a thousand listens would be needed to study and appreciate it fully. As one of the press reviews stated, the chords are very well constructed, but "Stop the Clocks" is all about the vocals. Noel effortlessly guides his voice from high notes to low notes and back, weaving a powerful spell on a listener’s ears for four and a half minutes in this live version. Both guitar solos- the short and long- create a psychedelic world for which Oasis fans can come in and play. And of all the songs from my Zanzibar bootleg-- this song is mixed the most perfectly. There is a perfect balance between the acoustic guitar, the vocals, Gem’s backwards guitar, and Terry’s bongos. It has been suggested by some that this song could never live up to the hype which now surrounds it. Well, friends, I have to politely disagree. This is instantly one of the five best Oasis songs of the past decade. Only now can I see so clearly why Noel has taken to such great pains to record the perfect version. Anything less would be unworthy of this classic-to-be. And we can only hope that Noel has done just that, so the world can finally hear this masterpiece. You will be happy to know that 4 of the 5 songs from Noel’s May 3, 2003 concert at the Zanzibar Club in Liverpool have now been made available to all fans on the downloads section. These new live versions are so good that you will indeed be listening to them for years to come. The final song, "Stop the Clocks", will remain locked up until a studio track is released. During the past couple of weeks, both offers and threats have come my way from the community of Oasis fans. You can be sure of one thing-- no amount of money, no offer of trading for other rare material, no invasion of my private life, and no level of threats brought forth could cause me to post the song. Also, I have promised not to give away a detailed description of the song, which is why I would never post any of the chords, the lyrics, or a minute by minute analysis of what happens in each part of the song. However, I am happy to tell you what I think of the song, that’s why posted what I did above. Note regarding the songs: For the record, Trent Harrington recorded the gig by standing away from the audience as much as he could, and standing close to one of the speakers. I'm not sure what he used to record it, but it sure sounds good. He said that security was actually checking people at the door that night, patting them down, etc., but he snuck his recorder in one of his boots. Trent now lives in London, but he would prefer not to be contacted. He has entrusted me with the first live performance of "Stop the Clocks", and asked me to share it with the fans immediately upon the release of a studio version of the song. Frank Lomax out... and still growing in appreciation for "Stop the Clocks"

I'm disappointed. I was looking forward to some info about the new album, or tour dates, or stop the clocks (the actual song). To me this is pointless and worthless. No disrespect to Frank, I'm sure you'll keep your word and post the recording of the song when it's officially released. Basically we've learned nothing new. It's good (Noel said this over 5 years ago), it's well structured (the NME reporter said this almost 5 years ago) and it's reminiscent of Who Feels Love (again we've known this for quite some time). I won't be downloading the bootleg but thanks anyway!

I want to thank Webby and Frank for making most of this gig available to us. However, I don't really understand why you won't release STC. It's like you've (Frank) got this soughtafter song which you've unilaterally determined no one else besides you is ready, qualified, or dedicated enough to have. I mean this in the most sensible and polite way possible, and please don't take this as an insult but this seems an awful lot like if you bought a painting, told everyone you knew about it and how beautiful it was, but took it off your wall and hid it whenever someone would come over. People are going to start questioning your motives. Furthermore, it detracts from the very laudable contribution that you've made to our fan community in making the rest of the gig available. If it weren't for the fact that this is obviously a significant contribution, I'd be tempted to wonder if other bootleg uploaders could in kind restrict their "best stuff" away from Frank Lomax in the future. Obviously that's impossible and childish. But I really think you sitting on STC, all the while getting attention and envy from all of us, now until it's actual release is every bit as childish.
Is it not certain the studio version of STC is going to sound very different from this version? I think we can safely assume as much, given it's 5 years old and we all know that there have been numerous versions of the song. I don't know who the final decision is up to: Frank, Terry, Webby, Noel, whoever... Please, just let it out already. This is getting absurd.

I understand perfectly why you decided to skip stc... marketing, sales etc... of the next album, the traffic of this forum, I respect that but also I'm crazy about this song so..
We (all the members of this great forum) are as fans of Oasis as you are, so you understand why some members are upset.Maybe you can give us a short clip of the song (30 seconds?), I'm sorry but cannot avoid to tell you this...It was noel who decided to make public that song, he played it live, right?
What are you going to do if the song is not included in the next album? It happened before...
Finally, I was more happy without knowing the existence of that bootleg. Hope you change your mind

Frank's "I'm not ALLOWED to release STC" excuse is an absolute lie. He doesn't care about Noel's wishes, even if Noel really did say he didnt want it released. Frank is a fan just like all of us. What gives him the God given right to listen to it, and not us? Yeah, Frank did the hard work of finding the song, so credit to him for that. But now we "found" the song too (well, the source in Frank anway), and is it not the same thing for us to be able to listen to it too?
Frank, I don't give a shit that you released the other songs from Zanzibar. Nor do I gave a shit that you wrote a nice review of the STC song. You have no respect from me, nor many others on here because of your childish antics.
To be honest, I really don't care if you release the song or not cause the new album will be out in a few months, and I'm certain it will be on the album.
Rather, it's the principle. You're an ass Frank. You truly are.
And I can't stand the select few who stick up for Frank's petulance. Castlecraver said it best.
FRANKLY (aha!) I would rather have you fuck off then continuing to cause all this hysteria.
Sad thing is, you're probably have a laugh at all these reactions considering that you're in "power" Just remember, what comes around goes around. The day will come when WE have something special that you want but wont give it to you knowing how you treated and teased us.

Who cares what the guy does with it? I respect the fact he's not giving it up to the highest bidder, cuz judging by the rise he has out of everyone he could stand to cash in.
I think it's more of a classy move holding onto it than selling it.

people, appreciate what frank's given us already. no matter what you think, you've got to respect his sticking to his guns like this.
you all know he's going to release it. so it won't be today, and it won't be tomorrow. but he's going to release it. until then, enjoy what you have. it'll only make us want the new record to come as soon as possible. especially if stc is on it.

I'm glad the other songs appeared but I gotta say, I'm pretty disappointed too. I mean, I'm sorry but I already read a thousand of reviews about STC and I know it's a fantasticn song, I don't need one more guy to come and say, "hey it's great, but you may never hear it"... I mean, Webby you said yourself: "It was a moment in life which I will never forget, when I first popped that CD in and pressed play, especially after the half decade of torment waiting to hear it. "
We all have been through this torment, and you just made it worse telling us that yours is finally over, but ours will continue undefinitely... come on think about it... we all wanna hear a simple acoustic version of the song to say "hey what a great song", and then hear the studio version to say "fucking awesome!!!"... what's the point in showing us after we heard the studio version... we will all be like "nice, but the studio version it's a million times better"... the song that you been protecting for all this time will be completely forgotten, once the studio version and new live versions come out...
really I don't see a point in continuing this torture with us fans, i believe it's unfair, we deserve better... anyway, I know this won't change a thing, but at least let's stop with the "I have, you guys don't" it's just too childish

By the way Noel finally put to rest the question as to whether it's called "It's A Crime" or "Revolution Song." The latter is what it is. Anyone catch that?

The way that Lomax is being so porblematic about leaking Stop The Clocks yet typing numerous useless reviews and claims goes to show he's a lonely antention seeking fanboy. He should go ahead and share Stop The Clocks just like other fans did with My Big Mouth, It's Getting Better Man, A Bell Will Ring & Meaning Of Soul!
