What is it about this song? Why does everyone want to hear it so badly? It's written in ancient scripture that listening to this song gives the listener magical powers. Since purchasing the gig, Frank Lomax has been travelling the world solving crimes as 'Super Boot'.

Probably because Noel has stated various times it's one of (if not the) best songs he has ever written.

Listen, this is how it works. If Frank doesn't wanna give us STC then stop fuckin moaning. Who said he had to? He spent 2 years researching to get this then paid a hefty price for it. If he wants to keep it, then its up to him. Everyone here who is moaning needs to shut up and fuck off. As for the whole..."it's worthless" Don't fuckin download it then!! Jesus wept, how hard can it be? Its a new bootleg of a gig 5 years old. I thought most people on here downloaded various gigs even though we've heard the songs millions of times? As for everyone ripping webby? Im pretty sure he said he had some 'goodies' for everyone. Which he did. No exclusives of band info, or tracklisting or world tour info. You hyped it all up yourselves so deal with it. I agree with white castle guy, but i can see what you're saying. Yes he payed for it and what not, but he also shared the fact that he has it. He could have bought it and then just relaxed and not said anything, but what creates this whole spectacle is, for lack of a better word, teasing all of us with comments about a song we possibly won't hear for 5 years (who knows if it will be on this album). If he straight up would say "I bought it, so I am not giving it to you guys" then I would buy that, but the reason he is using makes no sense. What makes him privilaged to listen to the song and "grow in appreciation" of it? This is not a smart ass comment or an attack, it just doesn't make sense. Other than money, we have just as much or more of a right to listen to the song as he does.

What is it about this song? Why does everyone want to hear it so badly? I think its the mythology about it. We've heard Noel yammer on about tracks that he considers great in the past and theres the old mentions of tracks like "Slow", "The Red and the Blue" (or whatever it was called) and such. The fact is, STC is the most recent and its known to factually exist and a recording exists. It's Noel's fault in a sense because we buy into his talk like this so often, but we blow it out of proportion as well. I dont think the song can ever live up to the hype at this point, but it certainly doesnt take away from the level of desire for people to hear it. We're just as big of fans as Lomax claims he is. As its been stated, had Frank handled this with just a bit of dignity and not pulled this absolutely stupid crap about it, it'd be a lot easier to swallow. IMO it should never have been mentioned unless he was prepared to share it. What was he supposed to expect? Gratitude? Fuck off. No one would care about this gig at all if this song hadnt been played. I hear what you're saying, why make the bootleg available with the exception of STC? When new songs were played in the past and bootlegged they always surfaced on this forum. I just think maybe its a bit silly not to make the song available. Like someone said in this thread, its been five years, who knows if its the same song now. But the bottomline for me is, I'm not going to lose any sleep if I don't hear this bootleg recording today.

I want to thank Webby and Frank for making most of this gig available to us. However, I don't really understand why you won't release STC. It's like you've (Frank) got this soughtafter song which you've unilaterally determined no one else besides you is ready, qualified, or dedicated enough to have. I mean this in the most sensible and polite way possible, and please don't take this as an insult but this seems an awful lot like if you bought a painting, told everyone you knew about it and how beautiful it was, but took it off your wall and hid it whenever someone would come over. People are going to start questioning your motives. Furthermore, it detracts from the very laudable contribution that you've made to our fan community in making the rest of the gig available. If it weren't for the fact that this is obviously a significant contribution, I'd be tempted to wonder if other bootleg uploaders could in kind restrict their "best stuff" away from Frank Lomax in the future. Obviously that's impossible and childish. But I really think you sitting on STC, all the while getting attention and envy from all of us, now until it's actual release is every bit as childish. Is it not certain the studio version of STC is going to sound very different from this version? I think we can safely assume as much, given it's 5 years old and we all know that there have been numerous versions of the song. I don't know who the final decision is up to: Frank, Terry, Webby, Noel, whoever... Please, just let it out already. This is getting absurd. You couldn't have said it much better.

Tell you what. I bet Noel himself paid the Frank Lomax prick a few quid to start up this joke. Now they are both laughing their asses off!
Who cares....

The only thing that makes me want to hear is i think Noel will release the song in 2028 and i dont know if i will be dead at the time. Now this is a good point. What if I die tomorrow? I will never listen to STC, nor the poor version with bongos nor the studio version.

Quite ironic, considering the lyrical content of the song...

Probably because Noel has stated various times it's one of (if not the) best songs he has ever written. but in all honesty, he says that about every new song the public hasn't (officially) heard yet.

Anyone else ever notice Lomax is also the last name of the person who first recorded Woody Guthrie?
