I want to thank Webby and Frank for making most of this gig available to us. However, I don't really understand why you won't release STC. It's like you've (Frank) got this soughtafter song which you've unilaterally determined no one else besides you is ready, qualified, or dedicated enough to have. I mean this in the most sensible and polite way possible, and please don't take this as an insult but this seems an awful lot like if you bought a painting, told everyone you knew about it and how beautiful it was, but took it off your wall and hid it whenever someone would come over. People are going to start questioning your motives. Furthermore, it detracts from the very laudable contribution that you've made to our fan community in making the rest of the gig available. If it weren't for the fact that this is obviously a significant contribution, I'd be tempted to wonder if other bootleg uploaders could in kind restrict their "best stuff" away from Frank Lomax in the future. Obviously that's impossible and childish. But I really think you sitting on STC, all the while getting attention and envy from all of us, now until it's actual release is every bit as childish. Is it not certain the studio version of STC is going to sound very different from this version? I think we can safely assume as much, given it's 5 years old and we all know that there have been numerous versions of the song. I don't know who the final decision is up to: Frank, Terry, Webby, Noel, whoever... Please, just let it out already. This is getting absurd. + 1 |

He spent 2 years researching to get this then paid a hefty price for it. If he wants to keep it, then its up to him.

Don't fuckin download it then!! Jesus wept, how hard can it be? Its a new bootleg of a gig 5 years old. I thought most people on here downloaded various gigs even though we've heard the songs millions of times?
As for everyone ripping webby? Im pretty sure he said he had some 'goodies' for everyone. Which he did. No exclusives of band info, or tracklisting or world tour info.
You hyped it all up yourselves so deal with it.

I think Noel was right to leave it off of their best-of album. If it had been a bonus track, everyone would buy the album and just fast foward to STC. A best-of album should be retrospective (which is why I think he used the "Stop the Clocks" title for this album). Knowing Noel wasn't satisfied with the DBTT version of the song (all 7), why would he rush it out just to sell a few more records on a best-of album of all things? I like that he's taking his time with the song...It tells me just how much he thinks of it |

To be honest Frank if you are that concerned about the integrity of the song and it not being heard before release you should never have told anyone that you had the boot!

I've been reading the news part of the site for years now, and never went to the forum, untill I heard all the fus about the ''zanzibar'' bootleg, I think it's weird to release the bootleg except for stop the clocks.. there will be nothing special about it when released after the studio recording.. it will seem outdated and bad.. if released now it will have a certain impact... an impact it won't have after the studio release... this is my opinion:
If there was a guaranty that STC will be in the studio recording i wont give a shit about zanzibar's STC, ive been listening to the rest of the bootleg and its not very impressive in my opinion, Noel seems he's falling asleep in most of the songs, I thought he was pissed until i listened to married with children and he said they were going to get pissed. So to listen to a sleepy, drumless, andy dick in bongos version of stop the clocks is not the way i intended to be me first impression of the famous song. The only thing that makes me want to hear is i think Noel will release the song in 2028 and i dont know if i will be dead at the time.

Put yourself in "Trents" shoes, you ask the guy thats buying the gig off you not to share something he's paid for, yet you don't mind that same guy broadcasting your name on virtually every single Oasis related site on the internet? If Trent is his real name, I doubt he had permission from Noel to sell the gig for his own gain, but hey Frank feel free to mention it, Noel doesnt know how to use the internet (but Im sure plenty of people do, especially considering Gem's wife is a forum member on every single Oasis forum out there). When Noel got his demo tape back from the people that bought it back for him, all anyone wanted in return was a mention, not even thx, but a mention on the official website or something like that, nothing came of it and no one batted an eye as the main goal (getting it back to Noel) was accomplished. Noel does not and will not give two shits about this song coming out especially a live version. He's already said as much as he was under the impression it leaked 3 years ago. The problem with Frank's reasoning is it's illogical and doesn't hold any water when he's already lied to the community and already fucked over his source. After he released Wonderwall, he went on Stoptheclocks.org, Oasisinet, and at least two other Oasis message boards stating that he did not even have Stop the Clocks. Then on Sat, we get the "101" post. Frank made his bed by choosing to trumpet his find all over the internet. I understand someone being excited like this, but every move he's made screams of an ulterior motive. Anyone castrating webby is completely off base. Again, if you're happy with the songs that have been released, enjoy them, but theres plenty of us that this has pissed off who have never asked for anything in return for all that they've provided to the community. Had it been me in the same mindset as Frank, Id never even mentioned I had it until I was prepared to share it all. |

When i got me 80 gb ipod,,, any of me friends had it, so i was the fucking bollocks knowwmean they were all losers with 30 gbs, then everybody got the 80gb and suddenly was a regular idiot with an 80gb ipod,, thats the way it goes,,, i think frank does not wanna come back to regular...
I'm not in favor of the people that slag off frank cause he can do what he wants, even if i think i wouldn't do the same, but hes not the devil, he's just human.
I'm not in favor of the people that say he is the nicest human on the planet for giving us a gig that is famous just because of the song that he didn't gave us.
We should just fucking end the story and wait for the album that will be everybodies...nuff said
