No i was being serious its going to take a while to get hold of a copy but i will be able to get one, as i know the right people ! ask Frank. er......yeh, right. i will believe you, 24 posts................... Post count doesnt fucking matter. Mick is well known among the trader/media community. Just because someone doesnt post here all the time doesnt mean anything. Oasis fans are a splintered community, they dont all flock to one spot. Mick has gotten us very rare material before. This is just some of the material he unearthed or got us in a much better quality: 1992-00-00 First Demo Tape (MickDude) 1992-00-00 UK-England-Manchester-The Boardwalk-"The Boardwalk, Manchester" (MickDude) 1993-00-00 Whatever Demos (MickDude Remaster) 1993-00-00 Whatever Demos (MickDude) 1994-06-07 UK-England-London-'Evening Session, 1FM UK' (MickDude) 1996-08-20 1FM Evening Session - Noel guest presenter (MickDude)

er......yeh, right. i will believe you, 24 posts................... Post count doesnt fucking matter. Aww, what did you tell him that for? I was just about to tell him that I'd heard we'll be visited by aliens at around 4pm tomorrow. I think me having 700 odd posts makes that fact. Having over 5,000 posts means you can tell people the sun is gonna explode and expect to see a large increase in sales of sun-block.

So, did the video of this gig ever surface? I’ve got the boot of the audio, but I’d like to see the video...

Funny thread this. Don’t know if the truth about the “Mafia Board” ever came out but here goes. When that Frank Lomax guy was trolling the forum and dangling carrots like that about 10 or so Oasis traders/collectors set up this other forum, I can’t remember the name of it but we basically set it up to try to get that Lomax guy to share Stop The Clocks on the forum. We made a load of old posts on the forum talking about unreleased stuff so the forum looked like it was around for a while then we invited Lomax. We pretended to share rare stuff on the forum but it was stuff we had played around with in audio editing software, can actually remember one guy editing Just Getting Older and making it sound like a live version and tagging it as Cardiff 2002, sure we did other songs as well. That Lomax guy for years kept chelping on about this hidden “Mafia Board”. He didn’t end up sharing it on that forum but we nearly had him. Funny times.

Frank Lomax didn't make a fool of Oasis fans, but himself.

All that endless fascination for what eventually turned out the a dreary run of the mill song. I don’t know, maybe the song should have been psyched up even more for it to work.

If the song had just come out on DBTT as originally planned I don’t think it would have been saddled with so much undue burden. It’s just an ok song. I don’t dig the HFB one at all. I do like the acoustic demo from the DVD. The 2008 leak was also ok. Wish we had a liam sung one. 2005 could have been so much different....

I like the outro of the demo, but it sounds like the basis of a new song entirely, one which Noel should have pursued in the studio. But I agree if would have been better to release it on DBTT with Liam, instead of a lot of the other dross (A Bell Will Ring, Keep The Dream Alice, the oh so excruciatingly slow and boring Let There Be Love - which actually should have been kept as Its A Crime and more uptempo). Also, I’d have put a Liam sung Lord Don’t Slow Me Down on there (aside from Idle, let him just sing the entire album for fuck sake Noel). There must be a few more better tunes lying around at this time to ensure it would have been the third best Oasis album. Rule 1 - put Noel’s best tunes on there, Rule 2 - No Andy and Gem songs barring Turn Up The Sun, Rule 3 - barring one track, let Liam sing the album, Rule 4 - hire a better producer. It was standard meat and potatoes production, there were far better to do that job than Sardy. It really wasn’t that difficult to make this album a lot better than it should have been.

Stop The Clocks Record Machine Lord Don’t Slow Me Down Boy With The Blues They also originally had a PRODUCER(S)..........Death In Vegas. #NoelGonnaNoel

Can you imagine DIV working on A Bell Will Ring? That really is polishing a turd - you have a songwriter in Gem who hasn’t listened to a record beyond 1975 trying to work with DIV? It’s no wonder it failed - the best results would have been to write in the studio to as Noel did with David Holmes where much greater emphasis would have been put on the rhythmic qualities of tracks. Take the tunes as they are. These are straight up, no messing rock/pop songs which don’t leave much room for sonic interpretation - they’d have been better rehiring Owen Morris over Sardy. Or to not dwell too much on the past, somebody like Jacknife Lee?
