what do you reckon?
another new band to keep an eye on. they seem to have it, could be mega
U2, Mike Skinner, Stone Roses, Oasis all in one...
I think we might have found the Oasis replacement (once they call it a day, of course). These lads have the same raw sound and fantastic attitude. Going to be interesting to see how they evolve
British music pisses all over the american shit

I've got Twang down as being the band of the year. I can see them playing huge halls at the end of this year and picking up a few Brit Awards next Feb. The NME caught onto them pretty quickly and Radio 1 is playing their single quite often. I've not heard much, but what i've heard is brilliant. Definitley riffs' of U2, Stone Roses and Oasis in their music. They are supporting James at Manchester Arena next month. Im looking forward to that! ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/1258801/images/7QKGdm487eYnX65W8w0g.gif)

too be slightly critical, i hate the MILF line in Wide Awake Top tune. But if you look at the quality bands: Oasis, U2 etc you'll never get a lyric like that! otherwise, the lyrics to that song are fantastic, i just think something smarter could have been done. just seems like something fuckin GreenDay would write. And in Either Way -- they say shit a couple of times. Oasis, for an easy comparison, steer clear of such words (except in recent songs like WPTWOTWOMS where he sucks fuck). But Oasis have the quality in their lyrics to leave that out. The lyrics over all are very good. but theres room for improvement -- some imagery and metaphors would work -- subtle is better than forthright IMO. Dare i say they also have a sound similar to Feeder (just rougher and less anthem like)? (going to get bashed for that one) The drums in Wide Awake are ace though. ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/1258801/images/7QKGdm487eYnX65W8w0g.gif) Lyrics and vocals, drums -- Oasis Guitars -- U2

Yes, im replying to my previous post haha.
I guess i just want The Twang to be the new Oasis. (and they could v well be in respect to attitude, popularity, importance, and getting the attention of the current Oasis fan base, if they continue on at this rate)
But they will never be exacatly like Oasis with the music because they arnt Oasis. They are a different band with a different sound and perspective.
But they have massive potential. As long as they leave off the likes of Neighbour from their debut album, i'll be happy.
Eitherway, Wide Awake, Push the Ghost are all ace. Cloudy Room and Ice Cream Sundae arnt too bad either (title change would be good though lol)
look around, everybody's 'avin it! ;D

oh my god you talk utter utter fuckin shite.
you analyse things far too much. too many shits in their lyrics? WHAT?!
you want them to be the new oasis? why cant they just be the twang?
use more metaphors? jesus you really are a gobshite.
since when the fuck were you there gsce music teacher? cos you sound like it.

Wide Awake and Either Way are fuckin mega Lying in my bed my thoughts wasted as they always have been It's 'racing' mate, not 'wasted'. I agree with you about the MILF line and The Neighbour - all that stuff about getting some 'GianLuca' is a bit naff for me, Oasis just said 'You might as well do the white line' and had done with it - far better. The Neighbour is probably my least favourite track. Wide Awake and Either Way are stand outs. I've heard Either Way will be the next single (with the swear words cut out, I guess). They have the potential to make a fantastic album but at the moment they're probably a few songs short. Also, I hope they don't revel in the 'hooligan' tag too much. There's nothing wrong with enjoying yourselves (God knows, Oasis did) but I've heard interviews with the band - see the Boot Pit for the podcast - and they're not stupid. It would be a pity if their music was devalued because they were dismissed as just a bunch of thick yobs from Brum.

Im going to see them in Manchester when they support James, and im hoping to see them play in Liverpool in May. Sound good to me. Although the singer isn't exactly great. The guitartist is the bollocks. Just like The Edge from Achtung Baby era! ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

i really dont get it, i think they are so fuckin average. better than average, surely? average to me are the likes of the Kaiser Chiefs, Blur, Hard-FI (who have the occ good song, but nothing special) The Twang are much better than those above band Twang, as i stated above, arnt nearly as good as U2 (even though i hate that band) and Oasis. But they are one of the new mega bands, and have great potential to be the next Oasis

AMs dont sound like Oasis at all!! ![???](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/huh.png) there not a million miles away, but i didn't mean it like that. i meant they have got the kids into them in a big way. everyone has an opinion on them and they are able to fill big, big venues. if they had something other than the music about them, then the press coverage would be bigger and they would become culturally as well as musically important. back to the twang yesterday i heard a song of theirs for the first time seemed okay but nothing special, that said you often need more than one listen to know how good a band really is.

The Twang dont even have an album out yet! and look how popular they are. Either Way and Wide Awake are as good as, if not better, than anything the Arctic Monkeys have produced. With the excitement that seem to be surrounding the twang, they could easily be bigger and better than the AMs Either Way, Wide Awake, Push The Ghost, Cloudy Room are all mega the singer is a lesser Liam Gallagher, they dont sound hollow like the AMs, they have good lyrics, the guitars and drums are very U2/Oasis/Stone Roses like which is a fantastic combination. They have the attitude of our beloved Gallaghers.... And too me, they sound much better than the Arctics. This will be the best band of 2007 i feel, and surely will release the best album. and if theres one band that i would want to see break the fastest debut album in the UK (which Oasis held until the AMs last year) it would be the Twang

As for the fastest selling album it was held by pop band hearsay before arctic monkeys. as for the twangs popularity i don't know how big it really is and kind of hope they don't get to big to soon as not many bands will be able to sustain it if they hit to top straight away.

very true, Ross
i also hate when people love the same band i do (by people, i mean the majority). Thanks to this board and my occ browsing of itunes, i am able to hear about new bands before the general public know about them
I started listening to The Fray, before they were well known, as well as the Arctic Monkeys etc. My hate for the AMs stems from the fact that EVERYBODY loves them. I know it's weird, but it seems like makes them less special.
My love for Oasis has grown as the years have gone by. Some of that is due to me maturing and actually understanding what Oasis are all about, along with understanding their lyrics. but also, they are hated by many here in the US and it makes them even better to me to know that i'm listening to something special that people here dont understand. It makes me feel proud.
The Twang i love though. They do need work on some of their lyrics -- it's too Mike Skinner at times, which isnt too bad, but as i said above you cant have ALL straightforward lyrics. switch it up. Live Forever is special not only bc of its sound, but bc the lyrics arnt straightforward.
For me, i have no respect for artists who dont write thier own tunes. It does take talent to sing and perform, but the hardest part must be the lyrics, and thats the test of a real artist imo, and a reason why i hate American Idol and the winners. Although Kelly Clarkson isnt too bad
since you've been goooooooone ;D
