SO I received my jacket earlier this week..a bit chintzy TBH. Looks great but the leather is paper thin, not sure if I should return it. I've loved PG since I started buying but the leather leaves a lot to be desired.

Does Liam still have anything to do with this in any capacity ? They still seem to plug him and the styles are based around his old stuff still Didn’t LG say they were trying to get him as a consultant or something? That's the last I remember hearing him mention it, would be a great idea for both parties IMO.
That being said anyone know if stuff like the Elvis collection gets replenished? The jacket I want sold out in less than a week

For a recording, you only need what is called a "mechanical license," which means the author of the song gets royalties but doesn't have to give their permission. That is across the board for any recording, be it vinyl, CD or download. For a live performance, it is almost always already covered by the broad licenses provided by organizations like ASCAP and SESAC. So long as you're playing at a licensed venue (and any pro venue is licensed), you're covered and you don't have to ask for permission. So long as that performance is a one-off --and it doesn't have a commercial "life" on filmed media after the fact, that is, it is not made for sale as a movie, DVD or download -- you can also stream it under the above mentioned performance license. But the big bugaboo comes in filmed entertainment -- movies, DVDs, etcetera. The Olympics organizers needed permission because they sell their footage commercially. It's kind of like this: If your cover band plays "Live Forever" tonight at a licensed club, you don't have to worry about Noel at all and you can even release a recording (with a mechanical license) If my news team films you playing "Live Forever" and broadcasts it once, we don't have to worry about Noel at all But if I'm making a short film about my Dachshund and want "Live Forever" to play over the credits, I will need to beg Noel for permission So obviously Liam wasnt allowed to re-record and feature live version of Oasis tracks on the documentary ? Correct because of Noel owning the publishing. The live version of Live Forever was not used because of this very reason. |

Ok so I am a HUGE Elvis fan and I love that PG and the estate have collaborated on this new line but the prices are INSANE! $73 for a tee shirt? I've bought a few jackets from PG at $140 but this seems absurd for a t shirt. Anyone know when this would go on sale ? Sounds like it from the preview tbh I assume the reason studio recordings were used for a preview is that the actual thing isn't mixed yet. Probably a lot more effort mixing something recorded on the back of a boat than in a studio. Exactly, I mean Charlie L only had 2 days to cut the promo so using the studio versions makes sense. I would be shocked and appalled if it was a mimed gig, I highly doubt it. |

Heck yes! I feel that some of the BE stuff is up there with the best latter day Oasis tunes. I'd be happy if he added Four Letter Word, Flick of the finger and Shine a Light to the setlist.

Ye i dont know, its just Rolo recently said about an upcoming video shoot for a ballad written with Simon Aldred. Thats all ive heard - it might be a standalone single, might be a video for the album's 2nd or 3rd single etc. Time will tell. Yeah, it might be a stand alone single who knows. But I'm looking forward to hearing it whether it's the first single off the new album or not. Maybe LG really does want a Xmas #1 |
