Spent a lot of time with this album over the past few days and made an observation that others most likely have as well. On a macro level, WBTM is a strong album because it works as one musical/cinematic piece. I am absolutely blown away by the production. However, on a micro level, I find it to be his weakest output ever. Eight actual songs and I despise three of them, am indifferent to one, think one is good, one is really good, and the other is among the greatest things he’s ever written. I said it in a different post, but I listen to SOTSOG more than any other Oasis-related album because it has a vibe/atmosphere as the overarching theme. WBTM does as well, and my feelings on it are positive. Just hope this feeling remains long-term. Great post! that's one of the issues im having.... I'm skipping songs whereas with as you were... I'm still enjoying every song.

I get some upset with no encore ... but not the hour gig.. Liam has always said how long he prefers a gig. Im flying to see him in D.C. and I know that he'll play an hour to 90 minutes max. It also seems he wasn't happy with the venue http://instagram.com/p/Bb3eqSPALzF

Not a technical music person... but I have the same issue... I can't hear his voice. It's like he's singing in a cave. I listened to it again on better headphones and I'm still feeling very "meh" about the album. Just not my "cup of tea" this year. I find that music always sounds best through noise-canceling headphones, but not this album. If I play it through my surround sound system, it becomes a completely different beast. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll try my stereo ... I'm really wanting to like his album 🤞

Same here, I can’t stand it. Weak production, weak vocals, maybe a couple of good pop songs if I’m being generous. Hell, I could stomach the production If I could make out what the hell I'm listening to! There's so much reverb it's like listening down the end of a long tunnel. I mean, I actually really like Fort Knox and a lot of the beats and stuff, but when I can't make out the song.... Not a technical music person... but I have the same issue... I can't hear his voice. It's like he's singing in a cave. I listened to it again on better headphones and I'm still feeling very "meh" about the album. Just not my "cup of tea" this year.

"[Russell Pritchard] said: 'Do you know what that sound is? That’s the sound of Liam glassing himself'. "Then on the night it was on the TV, somebody quipped: It’s almost like she’s snipping away at the last ribbons of Liam’s sanity!" People around Noel seem to mention Liam a lot, especially if it's true that Gem and Chris also tell 'toe-curling' stories about him... I'm sure Liam could tell some gem & Chris stories.... again not sure it's a good idea for Noel to open that can of worms or Pandoras box...

No two people are ever going to agree on it... which is what democracy is basically about.
As an American, I voted democrat for my entire life as did my parents and my grandparents... but I voted for Trump and I don't regret that decision. There are so many positives that outweigh the negatives but let's face it... the media plays a huge role in the negative narrative. I'm actually tired of celebrities trying to tell me how I should think or feel.. because let's face it... they live in a completely different environment than most people. So, I'm glad that Noel made the comment about democracy.
I'm sure some will read my comment and assume that I'm racist because I'm a Trump supporter... and there's really no way to disprove that assumption.
Yes, I don't agree with many of Trump's comments or his tweeting but there were a lot of Obama comments that I also didn't agree with.

yeah I've never heard noel admit that before but it's something I've said many times, liam is looking for praise the way a child does. Very sad that Noel recognises it himself yet has always acted so cold towards him. They are two messed up people. And there it is folks. Pretty much sums it up. Couldn't have put it better myself. For all those who want to pick sides, its pointless, because both brothers are seriously messed up, and none of us can really relate to either of them. Mainly because we don't know them as human beings (only what we read and see from afar), and because they live in a world that none of us have ever been to - that elite, rich and famous club, where it must fuck everybody up, even the ones who had stable upbringings (the Gallagher brothers didn't even have that). And when we talk about fame, these 2 reached a height not many have done in their entire careers. In 1996 the 2 brothers reached a peak of fame that only a chosen few have ever reached, like The Beatles. It's easy trying to understand and sympathise with 2 rough council estate lads from Burnage, but no so easy to understand 2 brothers who at one time were the most famous brothers on the planet. And extremely wealthy ones too! This wins best forum post. One more important point; they're age and their life experiences will be forever tied to oasis. (Not trying to make this pro liam) but this is especially true for Liam

How they sing in America against the president that America has chosen. It was not a military coup, it is not fascism. Donald Trump may be a joke, a maniac, but he was chosen. When I last looked up what democracy means, it was about this: everyone is free in his voice. Our grandparents fought for it. You do not have to agree with everything, but we do not live in North Korea. I certainly did not vote for Brexit. I'll live with it, but never sing about it. What are the rights actually called in Germany?
- he does have a point. People voted and this result should be respected just like any past elections.

The problem with trying to apportion blame or motivation over their behaviour is the things we don't know about. Yes they don't speak directly anymore but I bet there is a lot gone on behind the scenes that we know nothing about and would make a big difference to how we look at it. I just wish they'd stop talking about each other and if they want to take shots put it in songs. At least we'd get more music that way. I agree 100%. I also think that this statement that Noel said in another interview is the root of their fights. I could be wrong, but I don't think that I've ever read/heard Noel ever actually admitting this.... ZEITmagazin: After all, you are his big brother. Gallagher: (long silence) I think he sees a lot more in me. ZEITmagazin: What? Gallagher: Probably a replacement father. But let's leave that alone. I moved to London anyway, and my brother became a full idiot in Manchester. Read more: live4ever.proboards.com/thread/88339/zeit-magazine#ixzz4zDUWmHgw

Does he have a sound guy on tour or is it someone with the venue?
I've heard he's on a tour bus, I wonder if that will make it easier to meet him by standing by it?

I listened to it all day.. I'm enjoying a couple of Noel's but not as much as Liam's.
Favorites- God help us all Love is the law Dead in the water
Maybe it's because I'm not a technical music person so it's hard for me to fully appreciate the technical aspects/achievements of the album. As well as my complaint from the beginning, about connecting with the lyrics... there's just not that much for me. Which is just weird to say since it's why I loved oasis tunes. Is it just me or does it sound like Noel is singing in a cave... I can barely hear his voice and when I do, It has an echo. Again, might be because of the technical aspects.
Im just very "meh" about it, which is how I felt about his other albums. It's not an album that I'll listen to beginning to end... which I still do with "As you were".

Im just very "meh" about it. Doesn't mean I'm a parka monkey or an "eagle" wanna be.. just not feeling it..maybe I'll feel different tomorrow.

I still don't get why Liam's tweet isn't as hurtful as what Noel says in interview, but whatever. The fault is not on only one party. Both of them are toxic. Liam's words, however 'lighthearted' it might look in someone's eyes, are as toxic as what Noel say in paper. You're right. I'm guilty of this at times. But, lately I've just gotten really tired & annoyed of both of them saying inappropriate bullshit... it's become a competition to see which one can say the biggest insult. However, my issues with Noel are his digs towards his fans and his sanctimonious attitude.. I could careless what they say about each other. Honestly, they both need to stop and just talk about their own life and music..much more interesting and usually funnier.

I'm so psyched about next week's gig! My friend still hasn't found out from her work if she has to miss it, I'm hoping she's able to go! If not, I'm cool with going by myself
