1000 monkeys hammering on typewriters will eventually type out War and Peace. A Parka Monkey writing songs for years and years will eventually write a good one. Keep going Liam!

Noel may not be the most forgiving person ever, or the easiest to deal with, but he never said anything shit about Liam's career (that i recall). He was pretty supportive when Beady eye started, and probably would have backed up Liam's solo career if all those comments had not been made. "Stratford's finest Oasis tribute band" ring any bells? 5 years ago?! Liams Twitter feed is a stream of Noel shit.

Or talk something that's shit up (AYW). Really rattled at the moment aren't you. Not as rattled as the LG fanboys over the Instagram comments.

Once his album is out, and its getting huge praise by critics (which it most probably will) and Noel has done the rounds on the chat shows and played live on Graham Norton, all of this storm-in-a-teacup BS will be long forgotten. I bet you it won't, a bottle of whiskey it won't. Just going on the last 8 years. Also you should never talk something up (or down) you haven't heard, its a risky business that. Or talk something that's shit up (AYW).

Fair enough, it could mean that. He's still insulting his own fanbase. I doubt though however, he is referring to what you say. I don't think he will be aware, or care, that theres parts of his fanbase who are against him supporting u2. And if he thinks a few phone lights in the air are justification for butchering Champagne Supernova then more fool him. Where's your pictures of the half empty Twickenham Noel? I really, really doubt that picture is of Noel's set. I would bet anything that picture is taken when U2 were on stage, which is what makes me think he's referring to Liam/his crew about "not getting" the U2 phenomenon (which by the way I don't get really but a lot of people do so... each to their own), and is more a dig at Liam constantly criticising him for supporting U2. The same way Liam has made fun of the "High Flying Birds" moniker in the past, Noel now uses ParkaMonkeys. And I'm pretty sure Liam has also criticised the fans before.. either "Beige fanboys" or something like that (my mind slips on this one). Oh dear, the toys are being thrown out of the pram because HM got a good reaction!

Liam and all the fat cats in his Pretty Green. Gotta say I love the bickering. Yes would be nice to see them make amends, but its also entertaining and has likely drawn in the fans who had no idea who they were before. I personally think its all in good fun anyways. Liam/Pretty Green and his team of songwriters are all pretty cynical fat cats.

Liams voice is finished. Painful to listen to these days. True in 2013. Not in 2017. Still is.

Why is "what if Liam had sung it?" still a thing? because the songs are usually better when Liam sings them .. the rockers anyways ... slow sad ballads is Noel's domain. Liams voice is finished. Painful to listen to these days.

That kind of "people who wear parkas will hate this" attitude is the built up defence if this album is in fact just quite shit. Im really looking forward to this album more than i would be if it was just HFB part 2, and i agree that there will be people out there who will shun it just because they hear instruments they arent used to with Noel. But lets not fucking kid ourselves, i and im sure many others listen to far more "out there" songs than Holy Mountain or anything on that clip so please Noel stop yet again shitting on your fanbase for what they like. You've already tried to make us feel like idiots for buying Be Here Now, Standing On The Shoulder of Giants and Dig Out Your Soul. Dont tell us we cant not like this just because we wear a type of clothing you stopped wearing in 1996. I feel more shat on by Liams album and its cynical Oasis rip off sound and team of songwriters.

I haven't listened to this song once in the last 5 days or so I don't feel the urge to either. This has to be the first time happening to me since becoming a fan in 1997. It hurts my ears. And I'm not trying to annoy people here. I'm as big a Noel Gallagher fan as anyone on here. IMO he's the best songwriter of the last 30 years, up there with the greats but I'm just so disappointed with this song. Strange how this song polarizes opinion. I can't get it out my head.

Ballad of The Mighty I is the best song Noel has ever wrote. In the alternate universe where neither Oasis nor the first NGHFB album existed, sure Nope, it's a really great song.

The Best Thing really is dire. Hopefully there'll be some really decent stuff on the album but it's low on my list of musical "excitement" atm.

After all those threads about Liam's voice and singing we really should have at least one about Noel's voice and singing. He never really had a strong voice, but this is getting worse every tour if you ask me. He sounded great live the first U2 support I was at.

I think it could be his typical "gotta churn out a single" track. Latter day Oasis was the same way. IHOTM was the same way. But until we hear it in context with the album, its impossible to pigeonhole yet. The Shock Of The Lightning is a great single. It's not really.

Ive been kind of undecided about this tune for the past couple of days but I'm now beginning to think it's cracking. If Sky start using this on their football covarage it'll start to seep into people's heads. It seems to get catchier and catchier the more you listen to it. It's the best opening single of his solo albums.
