Does anyone know where the instrumental of Talk Tonight (featured in Supersonic film) is from? Is it an original soundtrack cover piece made specially for the film or is it an alternative backing track?

The drums are criminally bad.
Alan White did not die for this.

True that. He has a respect for Teotihuacan, judging by that story when on a tour break he scolded the rest of Oasis in 1997 for larking around the sacred site. Which is fine, if he is into Aztec culture... but considering these sites are hotspots for crackpot theorists that think they are some communication satellites to aliens, he might also have thought they were pissing off ET. Heard him discuss this visit in almost quasi-religious tones.Really seemed to mean alot to him. Recently he discussed the goings on at Supernova Heights infamous heyday which w ould end with coked up dicussions about aliens and UFO's with strung out supermodels. He recalled how they'd watch bits of moon landing footage on repeat which seemed to prove to the revellers it was all staged. Yeah he did go through that weird phase. Note how Devils Tower in Wyoming was meant to be on the front cover of Be Here Now (all band members in famous locations 'all around the world'), a reference to Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Noel's coked up mind probably missed the point of that film and thought it was a documentary!

Does anyone know how Liam reclaimed his voice ever since his solo career kicked off? Just listening to his Reading set from 2021 and it's fantastic. Don't think it's an over exaggeration to say that his solo live performances are the best since the Be Here Now tour.
Honestly thought that his voice in latter Oasis and Beady Eye gigs were shot beyond repair.

I think your underestimating Noel's penchant for a bitta weirdness. There's a long history of rockstar's seeking 'enlightenement'-the good ones anyway. Icke came to realize they were in it mainly for a laff and branded Brand a Beverly Hill's revoloutionary. True that. He has a respect for Teotihuacan, judging by that story when on a tour break he scolded the rest of Oasis in 1997 for larking around the sacred site. I've always wondered what our fascination with the pair's relationship is. I think part of it is that throughout the entirety of their professional careers, we've never really been exposed to the pair of them having a conversation. The nearest is Wibbling Rivalry, the clips in Supersonic and the extremely unenlightening and dull Lord Don't Slow Me Down film. Aside from that, its scraps. Interviews with them together don't count as much as they're not conversing or bouncing off each other. To this day, I still can't imagine what their conversations would be like as a fly on the wall. They both just operate on completely different wavelengths. Noel says he doesn’t get the fasciation either as those two never wrote together unlike say, Lennon/McCartney. But Oasis days Gallagher situation is equally fascinating. One’s gotta write for the other. The other’s gotta sing his brother’s words whether he feels comfortable singing them or not. That’s gonna create tension. And when it’s a case of you’re my singer/you’re my songwriter, there’s going to be psychological and territorial power struggles. Added to that Noel could step on Liam’s territory because he could also sing, but Liam couldn’t step on Noel’s as easily, so that situation was bound to create power imbalance. I find that aspect of them interesting at least esp since they seem to have carried it on post Oasis. And yet, despite being incompatible in virtually everything in life, the irony is their legacy will be the combination of their talents to create great music.

Must be I Believe In All? Nope. How’re so many Oasis tunes missing from Spotify!? X This is Oasis's management we're talking about, well behind the times on everything!

When I heard the title WBTM I immediately thought of David Icke who had written a book 'The Moon Matrix' around that time which claimed the moon was a artificial creation-a hollow base of some kind from which mankind was being manipulated. He was all over the internet giving interviews on the subject at the time.Of course Noel and bessie mate Russel were briefly Icke fanboys-even attending one of his gargantuan lectures so I'd be surprised if this wasn't the origin of the title. Much as Noel does himself Icke was recycling a Moon theory floated in a book written many years previous. I heard that, and that Noel was up for a laugh going to that lecture. Now that Brand revels in conspiracy bollocks, I'm now suspicious he was trying to influence Noel to his crackpot way of thinking!

I thought their album titles were cool up until Don't Believe The Truth. I don't know where that came from but it sounded like any generic indie landfill album title of that era. And Dig Out Your Soul came from Gem's lyric, although that's by far the worst Oasis album title. Generic, dull and uninspired, much like Gem Archer's songwriting itself.
Noel's solo titles are okay, although Chasing Yesterday and Council Skies suggests a lot of looking backwards. Who Built The Moon is cool though, remember looking at it first time and thinking what a weird and wonderful title it was, much like the album itself.

Do you have a link for that? I don’t believe that was ever confirmed either way. They were talking about it being a standalone single at one point. X It's clear Noel likes having control over his stuff and doing his own thing creatively on his own schedule. He probably feels like he would give that up if he started working with high-level producers or major labels all the time. This is a sacrifice that a lot of gifted songwriters have to make though. While their talent alone will shine through at times, to make that next level of awe-inspiring stuff does require a second opinion on things in the majority of cases. Even with Definitely Maybe, Noel was content at one stage to release the all too clean original mixes. Somebody like Owen Morris could hear a different album though, and thankfully that's the one we got. If you are your own judge, you get complacent and your opinion on what is good is so skewed at times. Even Paul McCartney, his best album of the last 20 years by far is Chaos & Creation, and only because he was dictated to on a creative level by Nigel Godrich, who was very dismissive of a lot of material that he intended to include. The standards are just not the same on following albums where he reigns supreme. Great pop music is rarely the sole creativity of one true genius, but often a yin-yang approach with producers and creative influences pulling the main talent into something of unchartered territory that the creative force wouldn't have thought of. That's when the real magic happens. Realistically, Rick Rubin would have been a great producer for Oasis. Anything experimental is a fantasy with Oasis (and no I don't count pseudo-psychedelic crap like Who Feels Love and Nature of Reality) but Rubin is straight up with the songs, and very strict on whether a song is good enough. Sonically he does the job too. It would have been a perfect match in the mid 2000s, but they chickened out and hired poor yes man in Dave Sardy.

Andy Murray, man he never fails to entertain, always a gift when you see him deliver these things at this stage of his career. Plays with all his heart and gives us that when we don't expect him to.

Liam has this year 'off' with no recording making sure his diary is clear for the year after this one, Noel gets a shorter tour out the way before the year is done, saves 2024 for an Oasis reunion/announcement.
Calling it now.

It's an inspiring little video from Johnny.
Learning definitely keeps him fresh and doing new things like soundtracks. He doesn't age either does he? Must be that curiosity and all that running he does.

Official? Jeez, you make it out like he's a significant part of Oasis history.
Please don't give him attention. His videos and theories are wank. Less said about him licking the arse off that woman beater Tom Meighan, the better.

Which band is better? Chili Peppers or Green Day?
I ask because these were the two big American bands in the first half of the 2000s amongst school friends.

Everything from Who Built The Moon is miles better than both new songs. I just listened to that album today, sonically mindblowing, so much fun and the tunes have it. Man that rattling rhythm of Beautiful World, just ace. It’s the kind of other worldly, atmospheric songs that take your mind somewhere else. It seems like the new album is shaping up to be a massive backwards step from it.
There’ll be no doubt a few keepers on it, but much like Coldplay albums today, the most part will be disposable.

This is a harmless Heathen Chemistry Era B-Side. I was really expecting something more captivating for the lead single. But Pretty Boy is so good that I'm not even gonna complain. Whoops I already did lol I honestly can’t believe you describes Pretty Boy as “so good” . You sound as deluded as Noel is about that when he said that everyone in his band said it was brilliant. Newsflash Noel you are paying their wages what do you expect them to say . Pretty Boy is not great. ButI prefer it, not nearly as lumpen and tired as Easy Now.

Justin’s channel is great. Rick Beato is great too, dissecting so many great songs. The kind of 'influencer' that is pretty cool.

I really like Wandering Star - although A Dream Is All I Need To Get By is much better from the same period.Easy Now is ok. Absolutely love love love that song. Really in the top top tier of Gallagher songs from the last 25 years. I think it's got crossover appeal for those not Oasis fans, yet keeps the traditional fans happy too. If that had been the lead single, I'd be stoked. It is the sort of song Noel should be writing and is a hidden gem of a tune. And the recording is excellent. The production is fine, the drums are find and I thought he'd learnt a few lessons. Obviously not hearing this new one.

I remember in 2000 Noel said the 3 best songs he ever wrote were…….. Live Forever Wonderwall Magic Pie I remember Matt Morgan on the podcast was impressed by it, and someone on Instagram today was saying how he heard the album and it's the best tune on it May be bullshit as we all know Noel's not the greatest judge of his stuff, but the way he keeps bringing it up suggests he really believes that's the peak of the record Also note it's in the coveted number three spot on the tracklisting. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the reason he put the likes of Live Forever, Wonderwall and, erm, Magic Pie at number three is he believes people lose attention after the third track, and it's usually the best place for grabbing people's attentions before they wane.

I consider myself quite a Noel fanboy, but man was I disappointed today with this... It's not bad, it's effortless as many said already, but in a bad way for me cause it's far from great. I'm not against classic Noel (how could I), but if he goes that way at least bring me a Dying Of The Light or a Dead In The Water. Flying On The ground is far superior in my opinion, even We're On Our Way Now, how do we get a third song in the same vein, only less good, as a second single? After 6 years of waiting a proper album...? I'd take the Pretty Boy direction any day, it may not be perfect but at least he's trying something different, not to mention Holly Mountain seems heaven to me at this point. Also, is this the same guy who sacked Tony Mcarroll cause he couldn't drum for his songs, are we all hearing the same plodding drums... again...? Sorry, I'm not happy today. Hopefully this is one of those single choices no one understands when the album is released. It's the weakest Gallagher related lead single ever. Alarming drop off in quality from his last album.

Your kidding right ? Pretty Boy is probably the worst thing Noel has ever done and that is saying something considering the rubbish (with a few exceptions ) he has put out since WBTM . Am hoping Pretty Boy is a bad anomaly on this new album . I hope the opposite: that Easy Now is an anomaly in the record. Not because it's bad (it's actually pretty good, could have been a hit in the old times), but because nothing is exciting the 100th time you do it.In WBTM and the EPs he tried different things: not everything worked but when it did, it was his best since the 90s. If you are looking for "rubbish" take a look to the Oasis albums from HC: you will find plenty there (not only from Noel) This sums it up. I'd rather experimentation with results not quite working out (not that WBTM was a failure by any means) rather than the same old songs time and time again with lesser return in quality.

The more I listen to it, the more I think it sounds like Travis. It's got so many Travis trademarks it's literally a banjo riff away from being the real thing. I would be surprised if Fran Healy actually wrote it and sold it off to Noel. Melodically I can hear the similarities. Fran and Noel are similar songwriters, and it's no wonder they are fans of each other given their default status is the melody being the be all and end all. Though it could do with the deft touch of Travis production courtesy of Nigel Godrich rather than the lumbering mess it is.

All this dissing of Travis reminds me that they're a great band. From one of their 'bad' albums.
