Tempting challenge for Noel to write an Oasis album after all these years. I think he will go for it tbh.

I'm a very optimistic person but it would be great to have any sort of new hint to back up my expectations.

Oh yeah, I forgot! There are the 14 lost Oasis songs that Noel said he had recently discovered but couldn’t get “the other side” to agree on releasing. Now THAT would be amazing. Someone remind Liam on Twitter about that!

Guarantee there will not be a new album. This is a cash-in. Nothing more, nothing less. This tour is just a cash grab. Someone asked Liam on X earlier if it was or if it was more than that and Liam said cash grab.

Someone asked Liam on X earlier if it was or if it was more than that and Liam said cash grab. He's not being serious with that, he already said to people on Twitter shortly after the reunion announcement in much longer replies that there are many reasons for the reunion (and listed them) beyond money and told people who claimed it's just a cash grab that their attitude stinks

I just keep thinking if there is no album coming then what are they going to do between now and rehearsing for the tour next year... that's a lot of months for them to be on holiday. And neither of them seem to be happy to stay idle for long. Probably wishful thinking but you'd never know.

He also said we're getting a new album, but you can never take Liam's word for anything, as sometimes he bullshits and sometimes he turns out to be right when we thought he was bullshitting see Oasis reunion.

Yeah Liam’s social media posts have been somewhat equally divided between the truth and bullshitting with regard to the reunion. Which is a smart move in truth, stops things getting too predictable.
Best just to wait and see.

Quoted for emphasis. IMO, studio magic has always, always made Liam sound better in the studio than live. Can we be certain latter day Oasis and/or current Oasis won’t use autotune or anything similar to tweak Liam’s voice on studio releases? I hope not, as that inauthenticity destroys the magic. I truly hope that they do not use autotune, however I heard it's an industry standard now, which I hope isn't true. Rock N Roll doesn't need it. Never has. That's the beauty of it. I'm not looking for perfect pitch, just a voice that moves me.

There's usage of Autotune in live concerts these days. To be honest what freaks me out the most are singers who ditched musicians and just go for backing tracks

I find it odd too, but it is what it is. nowadays I just feel grateful if the musician messes up a thing or 2 in live performances - it means they are really live The way pop music is produced nowadays it looks like labels mostly prefer a person that's already "perfect" (looks, personality etc) and do what they can to make that person to sound ok, using autotune etc

As Noel wrote, true perfection has to be imperfect.

And it's not just the obvious bits like that, of course things would have been finessed here and there, and long beforw their last album. Everyone uses it. It was an annoyance for me on Oasis' last albums and Beady Eye then his solo work that there were parts on the records that Liam clearly couldn't actually sing.

Noel's used it on his voice all the time since then (which has occasionally slightly annoyed me on the first and last NGHFB albums). It's harder for me to identify with Liam and I haven't followed his solo career as closely, but I'm pretty sure it's there on the John Squire collab tracks too.

As I said, it's an industry standard now, so I imagine it's on every album by anyone, however I do not believe that it is needed on every track. So I don't like that the music industry relies on it so heavily. That said, I like you, am more of a Noel guy. I much prefer his solo career. But in fairness to Liam, he is quite an accurate vocalist without autotune. This video was very honest about his voice with and without autotune, and how to tell the difference. I'm sure it's used at times to hit notes he cannot do, but these days it's used on all albums ever as a general run in the industry, and that's what I don't like, especially given what vocalists like Liam and other more naturally talented vocalists are able to do without it.
